lol Christie is back in?   Sick

They tried to move him to the undercard, but he threatened to eat Rick Santorum.
Quote:I don't think Ron would be doing any better. His platform is even more extreme than Rand's, and I think the underlying issue with Rand is that the only thing keeping him from being just the typical Republican candidate for this cycle is his disdain for government infringement into civil liberties. The central element of his platform isn't resonating with the farther and farther right base that wants Uncle Sam watching over your shoulder on a daily basis, a multi-billion dollar doomed-to-fail wall between us and Mexico and to bomb the crap out of Iran because everyone living there is a terrorist in training or something.

One thing that can't escape me though is how enthusiastic Ron Paul's supporters were in the previous 2 election cycles.   Ron Paul didn't have the most support in the Republican Party.   But he had far more passionate support than any of the Republican candidates  that ran in 2008 and/ or 2012.    Rand Paul had that type of support when he ran for the U.S. Senate spot in 2010.   Yet,  it doesn't seem like that's carried over to this year's Presidential Election campaign.

Eat Santorum and DIE!!!!!!

I could go two ways with this joke:

1. Choking on Santorum's ego

2. Massive heart attack

I'll let you choose.

Nothing would make me happier than seeing Cruz elected, promptly sued out of office, then having the job fall to John Kasich.

Personally I'll be boycotting this next fox debate to protest the rand exclusion.

At this point I'm writing in rand unless cruz wins the nomination.

A big steaming pile of Santorum even!

Good luck to Cruz. I agree he's preferable to Hillary, maybe even to Bernie at this point, but the man's not even qualified from a Constitutional standpoint to be President. He's a citizen, but not a natural born one. And since the same few people will instantly scream out "OBAMA!", yes, his Constitutional status as President is on the dubious side given that there is a legitimate question about whether or not he was actually born on US soil. Cruz, on the other hand, has never hidden the fact that he's a Cuban Canadian running as a Senator from Texas. Could come back to bite him.

Either way, the elephant in the room for him is Trump. The media's been talking about how long it would take for Trump to implode since last summer, and it hasn't happened yet. Cruz has a very long way to go to beat Trump, especially now that Donald is actively targeting him and making his nationality an issue. If there's one thing we know about the average Trump supporter, it's that they hate anyone and anything that isn't 'Murrican, and that they've been saying for years now how we should have finished building that wall along the Canadian border to keep those dirty moose on their side of the line.

You forgot about the net to keep the geese out.
The term natural born citizen is a singularity. It was never used again and has no history.

The term natural born subject, even though on paper looks like a legitimate predacessor, expeessly denotes a monarchy and hence the tradition of jus soli.

Since we are a democracy (jus sanguinis since the romans) and a dual citizenship (jus soli and jus sanguinis) country i doubt a court would disqualify him based on a term that was never clearly defined.
Neither Obama, McCain nor Cruz are disqualified, all are citizens.

Eww Ted Cruz.  He's on my 'bunker' list.  The man associates with guys like Kevin Swanson.  That scares me more than Trump.

The freak show continues tonight Big Grin

I need something to laugh at so this is good.

They're all legally qualified for Pete's sake.

IMO the country needs a candidate that is more center than either right or left. We need to compromise for the sake of harmony, there is too much divisiveness today.

Regards.....................the Chiefjag

Unless we each conform, unless we obey orders, unless we follow our leaders blindly, there is no possible way we can remain free.

Cruz is a phony crony.  My vote is for Paul but will have to settle for Trump

I still like Cruz 2nd to Paul but I'm liking Kasich more and more.

What makes you jump from the two most conservative/libertarian candidates to the most moderate/RINO?

I've heard him referred to as a moderate but what makes him a moderate/RINO? Because he took the federal funding for his states expanded medicare under the ACA? All the governors that didn't are idiots they significantly harmed their constituents to what make a point? Did it change the law, nullify it in some way?

Freezing regulations, lowering corporate and individual tax rates those are all libertarian philosophies. I don't really know what his social policies are and at this point I could careless.
