Jeff Darlington was just on 1010xl. He wrote the article based on conversations with management within the Jaguars organization. They basically fed him the same hot piece of trash that they have been feeding us for the past 3 years and he fell for it.

So you are saying he actually did research? Pffft, now that's just dumb. Much prefer the articles when they talk about a player who isn't on the team anymore.

I would have preferred if he based his article on watching the games rather than just talking to people within the organization (i.e. Dave Caldwell).

Who should he have spoken to about the future of the head coach?  The fans?  Really?  He talked to people who might actually have some insight into the situation.  How silly of him.

I am not here to argue with you over who he should have talked to. Just wanted to point out a fact about the article. Thanks for your input.

So he gives the same unoriginal view point as everyone else? The article is refreshing not because I agree with everything in it, but because it offers a different perspective. This board over the last few weeks has offered the same perspective with nothing original said.

I agree. It's refreshing to see some positive coverage of the team. But wouldn't it also be nice to win a game or two every now and then?! Maybe this week will be our week.

Of course, but that isn't what this thread is about. There are plenty of thread, about 90% of them that turn into Gus got to go telling us his record like it is some secret they just revealed. I don't care if the article is positive or negative, I just liked the fact the guy did research and actually cared about what he was writing. How many posters posted I'm not reading that garbage I already know what he wrote... That type of mindset I don't get. They take the time to come complain on the thread, but don't actually address what the thread is about. It's pretty typical of the Crew or whiny type fans. Don't confuse that with someone who wants Gus gone who offers a thoughtful take. There are just not a lot of those.

But you're too slick to fall for it. Way to go.
Quote:The articles answers the first question. It ignores the second. At best it gives a lame excuse why the offense should be ahead of the defense, but that doesn't excuse a total defensive collapse.

0-3 That is exactly it. Against trash that we should be taking out.

And the failure is not that the team is 1-5. The failure is that the team is 0-3 in its last three games against garbage opponents.
Quote:There is just so much new here, I really think we need another post like.  Oh wait, there are tons here in this very thread.

After reading the article, it seems like the writer was focusing on the bigger picture.  The "Plan" if you will.  Which was to make the offense better and then build the defense.  He referenced the draft, how we drafted and showed how the "Plan" was being worked.  It also showed how the "Plan" was having an impact on the offense and our passing game like we haven't seen since Mark Brunell, Jmmy Smith and Keenan McCardell (and doing so without a HOF LT or a potential HOF RB or that line).  He made examples of some bad luck, injury to the #1 pick which was a part of the "Plan" to build the defense and also acknowledged some of the short comings.  Now you may not agree with the "Plan" or the person who is running it or coaching it, but again, at least this writer outside of Jacksonville actually made a thoughtful article and those types of posts here are very hard to come by over the last few weeks.  You could actually read the article which also happens to be the topic of discussion and give an opinion, disagreement and/or counter to what he actually said.  Or continue on, being lazy, making lazy posts repeating the same thing you say in multiple threads.

Bingo.  It's about the big picture overall.  Even though the season has been disappointing and frustrating, there is a lot right there in front of us to be optimistic about.

Quote:They can stick that plan where the sun don't shine.

By year 3 there should be signs of the plan working.   AT 1-5 and the same issues keep popping up shows the plan has derailed against very mediocre competition.  Usually if a plan is not showing signs of working by year 3 it's time to hit the reset button.  Just bury your head in the sand and hold out hope a miracle will happen and bradley will take us to the promised land.

Gus has got to go and the whole article is rubbish.

Example A of someone that is probably part of the "entitlement generation".  They want everything and the want it NOW.

Sure the record at this point doesn't indicate that the plan is working, but the signs are there if one takes a moment to look.

A calm, reasonable assessment. Prepare for derision and pitchforks.
Oh please. How many times do we have to hear this? I heard this 8 years and then 4 years ago. No progress
LOL!  Anyone else find it hilarious that this article has been posted like 5 times by 5 different posters in the span of like 24 hours?

It's like all hands on deck right now for a certain population of the Jungle.

Guys, we all know that the talent on this team is heading in the right direction.  Most reasonable fans even see that Caldwell is building a winner.  We have the players to be competitive and actually be leading this division RIGHT NOW.

The problem is that the talent is being lead by a piece of trash coach who could not lead men out of a garbage bag.

Translation - The kiddos are out of school.
I am sick up and fed of losing. But, as slow as it seems. There is progress.

It's been years since FF gurus even mention Jag names. Now a few are popping up. Blake is the 5 th best QB in FF so far. It is a sign of progress.

But losing records are getting real old. We expected more this 3rd year.

Hey. The Cubs and Jays made post season.

Many have Hope, but want Change.
Easy for these writers to say. They don't watch this garbage every week.

I like you, JIB...  So this is with all due respect:

LOL, entitlement generation?  Get out of here with that mularkey.  Expecting a team that has had 3 years to rebuild and has actually acquired talent to beat weaker opponents is a result of the entitlement generation?  There is no entitlement to think we should be beating a Luckless clot team that was on the ropes, a horrible rookie QB that was a turnover machine, and a tin horn team that had only 1 WR and a QB that was cut by the browns.  The browns!!!

The term "entitled" doesn't even apply in this situation.

Keep that political junk in the political threads.  It has no relevance here in the world of NFL football.
