Quote:He's not John Elway, he isn't going to pull off a comeback whenever one is needed.
You don't win games that way. Bortles gets blame for his interceptions but lets not sit here and act like Hoyer wasn't nearly flawless on a defense that is supposedly "built".
Oh man, Hoyer looked like the second coming of Tom Brady today.
David Garrad didn't take as many risks and was much more accurate. He knew his limits
Quote:Bortles sucked today Anchorman against a bad team.. Not just 4-5 bad passes. He lost the game with a pick at the goal line and another pick 6.
This isn't the first time either, he seems to be regressing and holding the ball way too long.
For you to compare him against Garrard is ridiculous, Garrard was playing with street receivers, Matt Jones? C'mon!
I thought that Stupid Hate Garrard stuff was over with, I do believe it was the last time we had a winning record.
Maybe you forget since we have been in the gutter so long now.
I don't hate Garrard! Garrard was OK. But, I'm sorry. I can't ignore my lasting memories of DG. Him staring down 1 reciever and never making a first down when it mattered.
Yes, we won alot more games with Garrard. I cannot deny that. And yes, Garrard may not have had the talent at WR as BB5 does. But the team was much better coached back then than now.
Our D was legit back then. And we had a legit RB.
Sorry, but you can't convince we that Garrard is a better QB than BB5.
Blake had this team in the lead to start the 4th quarter. Yeah, the pick 6 was bad but the defense already had the team in a 10-point hole at that point.
Quote:No David Garrard was a helluva lot more accurate and won ballgames.
Quote:Yea he did!
Bortles made mistakes but is a fighter. Im proud of my 2nd year QB and think he will put it all together.
Here's some thumbs up though, Losing makes people think irrational at times.

Garrard also had MJD

I completely agree. Bottles was really bad today. He looked scared all day. He held on to the ball too long and then would extend out of the pocket to almost throw more picks. He is horrible throwing the ball down field when his man is contested. If the receiver is not wide open bortles will not trust the timing of the route and tuck the ball only to scramble then throw away or throw a pick. He under threw jt for a pick at the half. Then overthrew and wobbled multiple passes in the second half. I could go on and on but geez people would start to think I hate him. I still think he's got talent.
The biggest problem on offense is not Blake. Its the COMPLETE LACK of a running game. Opposing defenses can sell out vs the pass with no risk of the Jags exploiting it.
It's amazing the free pass Bortles gets. he has his receivers. He had protection. He lost the game.
Almost by himself by giving up 14 points with those 2 critical Interceptions.
Look I ain't saying bench him, he will be our QB for years probably,
But he is Struggling Horribly and our record reflects that.
It's hypocritical to blame Gus, Dave, The cheerleaders, because your favorite QB
looked like a pile of Buffalo Chips today. He lost it. OWN IT.

Your proud of bortles on his worst game of his career? Alrighty....

By far not the worst game. That would be last year against the Dolphins.

Second and third picks were inconsequential because the game was over. The defense lost this game. Ill grant you that Blake needs to elimimate the mistakes but laying this loss at his feet is just wrong
Also, on the INT-TD, I think theres a pretty good chance that Thomas wasn't in the right spot.
Umm at this point Garrard is the better QB. He could actually win games. Maybe he'll get better, but with Gus still here...my magical 8 ball says don't count on it

Bortles definitely made a few mistakes but to say he had good protection is laughable. Hell he had to throw it 50 times because we can't run the ball and it seems like just about every play our oline doesn't hold up in pass protection. Nobody is saying he played great but he is asked to do everything himself. That's gonna lead to a lot more mistakes.

This is bull! You are wrong. He threw a pick six when we could've score and taken control of the game again. Don't be this obtuse. You guys are being stubborn tell the truth. He choked when he could've responded. I said it in the game thread here's his chance to respond and lead. Then boom! Pick six.

You lost me at "had protection"

Down 10 with 7 minutes left. Had them right where we wanted them!

He was a wide eyed rookie last year. This year he's some kind of fantasy football sleeper supposedly.

No in the game thread, he threw the td after you said that. Not hard to find, I quoted and responded.
