Playin the under.

Quote:Yes. at his age, they tend to heal quickly and fully

I expect it to be rust since he won't have played since December 2014, nearly two years, but at least he'll be fully recovered
He played in Gators Bowl Game in January 2015 but I get what your saying. He definitely should be ready for Ota in 2016
How could we possibly know this?

I want to open a discussion on Fowler Jr. Does anyone know how his rehab is going? What do you think he could learn or improve on during his year break from football? I don't know too much about ACL recovery time but I'm guessing since it happened so early, there's an expectation to have a fully recovered knee by Week 1.

Also, does anyone know how severe the year was?
With the amount of time he has to heal I think he will be just fine. Possibly better considering the fact he's young and his knee will probably be stronger than before.

This is what I hope. Loved the way he played at Florida and I'm hoping he can be even better for Jax. I believe Dave Caldwell said something (before the draft) that ACL tears for player under 26 can make a full recovery and Fowler is only 21. I read somewhere that he tore his ACL but all the other ligaments are intact. He said, "so bad news, but not could be worse."
Its only been a few months since the injury. He's got a loooooooong way to go in his rehab.

I know I'm just thinking about what makes a clean recovery. What he might be doing while he rehabs (like put on weight, study, et cetera)
Usually takes 2 years for a player to have confidence and perform the way they performed before this type of injury.  Unless you are Adrian. Peterson.

he'll be a full year by the time TC rolls around

I expect him to be fully healthy, but I also expect rust
Adrian Peterson was already well established in the NFL as a premier running back prior to his injury; and I'm pretty sure that his comeback was the exception for most players, not the norm. Fowler on the other hand, has only what he did in college for us to reference. He has no credibility built in the NFL at all beyond the fact he was drafted so high. He may prove to be a champion, or he might prove to be a bust. Until his rehabilitation is completed and he can be evaluated in full speed situations, we won't know what we've got. All we can do is hope... and if we're wise, we'll also plan as if his injury is career limiting and draft accordingly. A team can't have too many star pass rushers, can they?

No it doesn't, most guys fully recover in 9 months and come back (in most cases) more explosive, the only guys this usually doesn't apply for is DT's (Sen Marks/Geno Atkins)

Or Gurley.....
Or Sen'Derrick Marks. Marks has been looking great when on the field. Shame it's been limited snaps but the line gets so much more pressure when he's on the field.

On the Manuel fumble Marks was getting triple teamed at one pointed freeing up other guys to rush.

He'll be back next week.

Von Miller tore his ACL at the end of the 2013 season and came back the next year with 14 sacks.

Or Von Miller, like Dark Passenger said, he came back STRONG. I'm hoping he has a Von Miller comeback

I have no shame in asking questions. Do you think Marks is singlehandedly responsible for our improved pass rush? I haven't watched the film from that perspective

Training camp? It'll be a full year by the time the draft concludes and the minicamp begins prior to the OTAs. Remember he went down of the first first play of his very first minicamp. So all that rust should be well shaken off by training camp. With all this time off I'm expecting Fowler to show up hungry.
