Quote:That's great but you didn't really answer my question. If you jags won by 15-20 would you be happy to be proven wrong or would you be mad. It seems like a silly question but I've noticed that some posters seem happy to be right even if that means they were right about the jags doing badly.

Id be thrilled. But seeing as we havent had a comfortable victory in 3 years, and our offense cant score 20 points, I really dont see that happening,
Quote:You're telling me that we shouldnt beat hasselback by more than 3 points? Jesus christ people, how low has Gus gotten your expectations?
If Hasselback plays and we win by 3, i'll be thrilled.
I mean we all want to win by a lot but getting a win in general would at least be okay. I don't think most people would be thrilled if we won like 20-17 against hasselback but being in first place going to Tampa would be nice.
Colts just signed QB Josh Johnson and released a CB. I think that pretty much means Luck won't be playing Sunday. They really think they can rest Luck because its the Jags and get away with it. I hope we knock their teeth in and prove them wrong. It'd be so bad if we lost to Hasselbeck and they get Luck healthy at the same time...

What if we lose to a Matt Hasselbeck led offense? That has to be the end of Gus, right?

Wow,.., then dave and gus's jedi mind tricks have worked. You truly are a sheep.

We scored 23 week 2 so....

It definite would be a step. I would be surprised if he got fired before the bye week regardless of what happens. In reality if they are going to fire him they probably wait until the season ends but if we have a terrible 1-2 win record at like week 10 they might get rid of him. I think we end up with around 7 wins and everyone will stay.

I think sometimes you do have to do it just to send a message though.
Think about it. If we lost to hasselback on Sunday, then, as Alfie put it, "what the hell have we been doing the last 3 years?"

I am sure you will be starting many threads after the game regardless
Oddly, at this point in the year, I am more afraid of Hasselbeck than Luck. Game manager, doesn't make many mistakes.

this....

I'd rather have a banged up Luck.

I know he's a better QB than Hasselbeck but with the year he's been having....

Hasselbeck will probably come in, super fresh from being a backup the last 3 or 4 seasons....

he'll hand it off to Gore to keep them in the game, and make a play on prevent D when we're trying to protect a lead....

But that was years passed... the old Jagwads...

we're the new Jaguars...

we're going to win this game. Luck or no luck.

Think about it. One of them has made it to a superb owl and one of them hasn't.

I know which QB I fear more!!!!!!!!!

that is one way of looking at it....

Hasselbeck is no chump... or he'd be out of the league already

He was horrible in pre-season. The dude hasn't started a game in three years and is older now. The biggest factor with the Colts is Luck, and that's why we've gotten our butts kicked consistently against them. Someone needs to be fired if we lose to a backup QB in a divisional game.
It doesn't take Lombardi to realize the middle of the field is suspect and to attack it. I'd imagine Hasselbeck taking advantage of this and Poz racking up 18 tackles after 15 yard gains.

Quote:We know the colts are hot garbage aside from Andrew Luck. A 17-13 win is what I fully expect, but that to me would still be a disappointment, and more proof that our offense isnt remotely where it needs to be.

So what if we win 41-40?  Is that still a disappointment?

You're right, beating a division rival and being in first place of the AFC South would be terrible because we "only" won by 3.  This is the NFL, a win's a win.  You really think we're that above the Colts that we should blow them out?  You been hiding under a rock the past decade?

to those people... yes.... we must win by double digits...

year 3 of the rebuild...

with a QB with 16 starts under his belt....

and a slew of guys that can't stay healthy....
