They said he over threw TE Lewis (by like 10 feet) or was he trying to throw to Hurns and under threw him?

Either way it wasnt a good throw and he had a wide open TJ Yeldon for a short pass with an open passing lane & nobody that wouldve caught him for at least ten yards.

Great news!  I read that TE J. Thomas will play against the Colts, and DT Marks might play too!

This might finally be a game that shows the real Jaguars!

Quote:The glaring question is will TE Julius Thomas return (this week maybe) change all of that?

I'm hopeful getting Julius back will help the entire offense. As it stands, I'd say Blake is just below average but on the cusp being average, as in right around #22 or #23. He's better than a handful of starting qbs out there imho.

what starting qbs are bortles better than?

Cousins, Bridgewater, Mallett/Hoyer, McCown/Manziel, Winston, Foles, Kaepernick, Cutler, Eli, and Fitzpatrick. I don't even get why the Giants just handed Eli an $88 mil contract. He's been erratic as heck this season. For now I'll give Carr, Mariota and Alex Smith an edge over Blake, but not by much.

Bortles isn't better than any of them except Manziel who is not a starter :/

You have your opinion, and I have mine.

I think Blake will be fine...however

- The D has to get better. The Jags can't be playing from behind as much

- Blake needs to read defenses better and start making better decisions...coaching??

- He needs a true #1 receiver

- The running game "must" get better. The offense can't be one dimensional. Not to mention the fact that a better ground game will keep the D off the field more

To this end I just read some talk that the Patriots are looking to acquire Calvin Johnson from the Lions. The Jaguars should get involved here if he's actually on the block.

I picked Average as well, but he does have potential to become better this season especially with Thomas & Lee playing healthy this week will be a good indicator of how things will go this season.

He is at his best when he takes chances deep down the field, if the receivers can have less drops & the Oline provide him the time it'll force teams to not crowd the line & thus make things better for TJ Yeldon.

You know how they always tell teams dont give up on the run, I feel like thats what OC olson & Bortles should be told about the deep pass.  Keep doing it for most of the game.

If that is true the rest of the league should just forfeit now as Tom Brady would shatter all the records in the book.

Hmmmmm, if you were Calvin Johnson, this late in your career, which team would you rather play for, the Jags or the Pats?

Take your time, I know it's a tough decision.

You don't like blake we get it so be a man and stop posting because right now we need you and the other trolls to just go away. It seems like some of you isn't happy unless blake isn't perfect because it validates your opinion of not selecting him in the first place. I can't speak for another else on here but personally, i'm tired of dealing with this crap.
Quote:I have to agree with you Sosa, because you get the feeling after certain games like the one against the Patriots that Gus simply got out coached (at least Rex admitted it), and Rex at least came close.

Can you tell me of a game in the last three years that after half time you felt Gus Bradley coached them up / hyped them up and they dominated in the 2nd half against any team?
NY Giants last year. Easy.

Easy because it is the only example in 35 games. Sticks out like a sore thumb.

If it's a trade it's not his decision where he goes.
Blake is playing average and below average now.

He'll improve noticeably to above average by this time next year.

A running game sure would help matters.

This team needs a healthy line as well as D-rob and Gerhart out there close to 100% healthy.

Unlikely to happen soon, unfortunately.
What do y'all consider average?

I doubt think it means what y'all think...

You are clueless.

After reading some of these threads, I really get the sense that a large number of you do not watch many other NFL games not involving the Jaguars.

Cmon Shack, these dudes don't football, unless it's with their madden games. you know this.  There has been enough stupid threads and uniformed comments on this board in the last two days to provide ammo for anyone reading to completely annihilate our fan base as clowns for decades.....and they complain about media respect and players skill levels. Buuuwwwwwwaaaaaa. What a joke.
