Quote:They fired Fisch, and yet, GUS and the new guy he hired still aren't on the same page. THAT'S THE PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD HAVE LOOKED A LOT MORE POLISHED.

WEEK ONE

Technically it's week 34, but I digress.

It's WEEK ONE.  It's not week 34.  This offensive staff was scattered around the league the past 2 seasons, so keep flailing away.  You're being ridiculous, but hey, you're really showing them with all your silly threads and polls.
Week 1

actually

technically

factually

You get the material, assemble it, then test it. Week 1.
DID YOU GUYS KNOW IT'S WEEK 1..... OF SEASON 3....WITH A REGIME THAT HAS TOTALED 7 WINS IN 2 YEARS

With an offensive coaching staff assembled in February of this year?

Duh..... other teams defenses are not preparing against your offense.
Technically, it's week 1 of season 1 with a brand new offensive package.

Lemme help further

Package = OC, OLC, C, RT, RB, Playbook, and so on.

Surely, they looked miserable. Losing LT didn't help. But what are you going to do, right now? Breathe, wait n see. Along with some Our Fathers or Hail Marys.

We'll survive. Let's go lads. It's a battle of wits sometimes. At some point, you're simply going to grow a set and go take it. They will not be 0-8.

Okay.  The team started out 0-8 in 2013.

The team started 0-6 last year.

In 2012, the team started out 1-9, losing 7 straight at one point, on the way to a 2-14 record.  Why is it so farfetched to see this team go 0-8 this year?

While a win against Miami is possible (heck, wins against NE and Indy are theoretically possible), if the team plays like it did Sunday it isn't likely.

Even if the team plays relatively well, Miami can still beat us.

Are we likely to beat NE  and/or Indy on the road?  Barring injuries to their QBs, absolutely not.

I argued about a week or so ago the talent on this team was better-even substantially so-than at the same point last year.

The problem is at least twofold (not discussing coaching as an  issue)

1.  The talent is still young.

2.  The schedule is not conducive to a young team learning to win to get a lot of wins early.

3.  This is assuming Bortles is the QB we think he can be.  If he does not develop to at least a middle of the pack QB...

This is why I thought yesterday's game was so important.  It represented, outside of Tampa, perhaps the most winnable game in the first half of the schedule.

So we're sitting at 0-4.

So if not Tampa, who do you see us outwitting and growing a pair and beating between now and week 10?

Quote:If we're sitting here talking 0-8, we'll be doing so with an interim head coach.  At the very least, the Tampa game should be an easy win for this team.  If they can't muster one there, it's done.
Exactly my point and I agree completely.

I think if we don't beat Tampa, we will leave London with Doug Marrone being the interim head coach.

Hopefully we wipe up the floor with the Fish and this does not become an issue.

I CAN'T HEAR MYSELF THINK WITH ALL THIS YELLING IN HERE!!!!!

I'd be surprised if we didn't beat the Bucs.  Julius should be back.  Marks should have a couple games under his belt and should be able to help out a lot.  Lee may even be able to help out.

Bucs looked worse than we did.  At least our defense did okay and didn't give up 4 TDs to a rookie QB playing his first game.

That being said, our schedule looks tough.  We definitely have to improve from week 1 if we plan on winning more than 3 games.

The Bucs looked horrible.  They had no answer for anything Tennessee was putting out there.

A respectable showing vs. Miami will be sufficient.  The offense looked more like what you'd expect in week 1 of a preseason game, and I'm not sure what the deal was there.

We've all seen this team through the off season, and all signs were that there was going to be notable improvement.  It's disappointing that it didn't happen in week 1, but it's not the end of the world.  It's actually a nice gut check for these guys to wake them up and get them playing up to expectations.
