The only good thing is our D seems to get up for the good teams. But I do have the fear of this as well. Like in 06. But we went nowhere in the playoffs in '05, so really can't compare to that.

Cutting Hurns makes the offense one dimensional?  lol

Hurns was/is an average receiver at best.  He has a lot of heart but he wasn't the linchpin in the Jags offensive strategy.

They could've cut Hurns at any time. If there was someone they wanted and they needed to use the money allocated for Hurns, they would've cut him dead on the spot. That wasn't the case.

Completely agree.  I just hope he can shake the concussion bug.  However, they only get worse with each one.

I think the concussion concerns are a legit factor in his release coupled with the price tag.  My guess is the team feels they can replace him in the draft cheaply.

I like Hurns, but I think he can be upgraded for a lot less coin.

Agree.  I wouldn't be surprised if he's not forced to retire this season or next should he have more.

Hurns, Arob... the club (and their doctors) knows them better than any other team.  They had a number, and the numbers didn't match.  Unfortunate, but completely understandable.

When he's healthy is probably a big factor in this release, especially with the concussion concerns. Lee is ascending.  Hurns is an expensive #3 or 4 receiver at this point.

So they cut him now when there is no market for them or the player. Makes sense.

They held onto him until they signed someone to fill his spot (Moncrief). It also wouldn't surprise me if they held onto him for as long as possible and attempted to trade him before cutting him. They couldn't and here we are.

But again, his contract wasn't the deciding factor in whether or not they could retain Colvin or sign some big contract free agent as you keep suggesting.
