Take a look at a photo of diego maradona in 85' a year later he single handedly won Argentina the world cup..

No chance Justin has a beer belly quite like that.

Can you provide a link showing "he was eligible over a week ago"?

He may never come back but if that's him, it's not like he wouldn't be able to get back into condition with some dedicated training, especially a younger guy like that.

This is one of the saddest stories that I have ever followed. And frankly, I think that the way the league handles the whole situation is ridiculous. 1.) Ray Rice was reinstated before JB. 2.) The teams should have access and the ability to provide world class treatment programs for the players and the ability to monitor their progress so that they have the best information for the draft and Free Agency. This lack of transparency doesn't help anyone, including Justin Blackmon.

Quote:Where in the world is Justin Blackmon? I expected to have heard something by now about his application for reinstatement, since he was eligible over a week ago. With the draft coming close to only being 3 weeks away, it seems that his standings with the team would have some bearing on how we proceed with the draft. I can only hope that he has been in contact with someone official to declare his intentions, as he owes it to this franchise to be upfront.
I was hoping that this thread could be used for all information regarding any sightings/proof/tweets etc. that give any proof as to whether Blackmon is legitimately coming back. Last information I have seen is that he was Vegas a few weeks ago. Someone else mentioned they saw him at Publix, getting ready to do some sort of Bubba Gump shrimp diet?
Yea been wondering about JB also.. Do we give up hope? Will he be back? The sad part is know one really knows right now. I do believe the less we hear the better tho.

Perhaps you've heard of HIPAA? I can't begin to fathom the amount of federal violations they would incur by being 'more transparent'.

Such a shame. And to think, in a few years I believe the drug testing will be a lot more relaxed -- like the NBA. Drafting JB was actually 1 of the few selections by Gene that I liked.

I don't know why the timetable of 4/1 was so pertinent as to JB's application for reinstatement. I know I have heard/read that more than once in the past few weeks. I can find no link to support anything having to do with applying for reinstatement in April. I guess he actually was already able to apply for reinstatement, since November of 2014, but has not. Since the commissioner has to respond within 60 days of an application for reinstatement, maybe it was wishful thinking on several people's part that the application be made and a decision be made for reinstatement by the commissioner before the draft. This is my understanding of the situation as it stands. So, here is a link for his actual reinstatement procedure
<a class="bbc_url" href='http://espn.go.com/blog/jacksonville-jaguars/post/_/id/11048/here-is-the-nflreinstatement-procedure'>http://espn.go.com/blog/jacksonville-jaguars/post/_/id/11048/here-is-the-nflreinstatement-procedure</a>
It seems that since JB was arrested in July of 2014 for marijuana, he may be in no hurry to apply, since it has not been a full year since any incidents. Also, I suspect that since a part of the reinstatement process would entail a medical evaluation within 45 days to include drug tests, JB is taking his time and enjoying the off season. The more I research this whole topic, the more convinced I am that he is done. The discipline is not there to make a come back, in more ways than one. I think Dave and Gus know what's up, and they are being polite and/or not tipping their hand.

That pick makes me laugh. Gene finally went against his draft a good guy philosophy, and that one flops for the very reason he was afraid of. If SNL ever does a skit about an NFL GM, Gene would most definitely be the character.

Lot of artifacting around the neck area. Looks shopped. The Air Force Ones also look busted. I'd expect an NFL player to rock fresh kicks everyday.

My bet is he will apply when he runs out of money which would be soon i would think based on he has not been paid for over a year+ now.
And if he doesnt come back I hope the team goes after him for his signing bonus.

No matter how you feel about Rice's actions and how the situation was handled, it was his first violation of the leagues conduct policy. Blackmon is like on his 3rd or 4th. The guy had 2 DUI's under his belt belt with a possession stop while he was suspended. And as another poster stated HIPAA is very real. If this is seen as a medical condition, even if it's not, we won't know unless he gives the information personally.
