Quote:I hope he turns out to be pretty decent.  It's much more fun when the rivalry is competitive.  1 vs 2 or along those lines is much more exciting.

the rivalry was competitive this year
Yes, the rivalry is much better when both teams have a lot to lose.

The game was good but the game took on much more importance in the 90's.

I think he means and correct me if I'm wrong, that losing 4 out of the 5 last games isn't competitive.  We beat you this year with 4 int's and 3 coming in the 1st quarter and all you could muster from those 3 INT's is two points (9, but you gave us 7 so net of 2).

This game was important because fsu had everything to lose.
Quote:This.

This past game wasnt all that different from 1997, the best game ever in the swamp
Quote:4-8, 8-6, 10-2. This after taking over a program with records of 3-9, 3-9, 3-9 the previous three seasons. Pretty proven coach and head coach, and resume.

Is he more proven than Dantiono for MSU?

Was he available?

Y'all were 10-2 that year and coming off a national championship.  We were 11-1.  I'd say the circumstances were much different.  You guys were 4-8 last year and didn't even go to a bowl game and 6-5 this year.  But yeah, pretty good example.

Every game is important between FSU/gators even if we both suck.  But it just hasn't been the same as it was in the 90's.

He could be, if Nebraska isnt satisfied with Narduzzi, their have been rumors they could take a run at him.

You're taking a big chance on a guy that wont be available until after January 1st.  I think the hire they made is a good one.  Offensive minded coach that has a history of turning around either offenses or teams.  (He also didnt bring one coach with him to Colorado State)

My understanding is he isn't the greatest recruiter, so he better hire some energetic guys that are willing to chase down the talent.

Has he been hired or are they still attempting?  I'm pretty sure there is a $7.5 million buy out clause and they would have to negotiate that with Colorado State.  I just don't see them paying that buy out and paying him $4+ million per year.

And the rest of Muschamp's money

still attempting
Quote:None of your points are really valid.  He's at Colorado State...it will never be a national power.  If you're a coach that wants to win national titles (like when he was at Bama) you are going to take a job with a team that can get you there.  With Florida, there is that possibility.

Winning a national title isnt at the top of every coaches' list.  If its not at his, there is no way he should take that job.

You can rest assured that it probably is. He wouldn't be in talks for a couple days now if that weren't the case. I'd be pretty safe to say.
I think its pretty obvious that he is getting the job

The buy out clause is negotiable from what I've been told.  I have no clue what that means though.

What other coach are they going to get without taking a huge risk in the future?

I don't know. I'm not the one claiming it is the #1 college job in America. I personally don't think it is.
