i wonder if mcelwain is holding out for a specific college job or maybe an NFL gig.

Quote:Very very few have said its the number one job in the country. I believe most phrase it as one of the number one jobs in the country. Don't let that stop you from promoting drama.

One of the number one jobs? How many number one jobs can there be???? I kid I kid...

Reading that again, it makes no sense.

footballscoop.com?  lol   -per sources, Jim McElwain has informed his team at Colorado that he is leaving for the Florida job

I'd jump for joy if that happened.

Obsess much?

Just messing around, sheesh.
Quote:It has been touted on this board several times that it is the #1 job, which is fine since a reasonable argument can be made, but simply saying it may not be.
Oh Good Lord.
It will be a lukewarm hire if McElwain accepts.

Quote:im pretty sure the general consensus on the board is that its a sure fire top 5, possible #1.
jt will argue this too.
Quote:rumor is that Uf will agree to play CSU in Dallas in the future
Heard that too on the radio. Probably was a no brainer for Foley to agree to that.

How come?

22-16 in the Mountain West.

I know he was a coordinator for Saban, but Foley cant be this desperate.

Hey, no religion.

Have you seen the progression they've made with him being there.  The only mid major to beat two teams in the top 5 conferences.  Boston College being one.

it's not a homerun from the looks of it right now, but its solid.

4-8

8-6

10-2

He's gotten better every year there.  His offenses at his last several stops (Fresno State, Bama and now CSU) have all been efficient.  He was the commander of the offense on two consecutive national champion teams in 2010 and 2011.  In the 2009 SEC Championship game against Florida's top defense they gained 490 yards.

I think CSU is averaging around 500 yards a game this season.  The Gators need an offensive guy and he's certainly that.

They certainly need an offensive mind so that part definitely makes sense.

If only that could have gotten Muschamp to coach the defense.

Is that possible?  Hold him to his contract and coach the defense for the final two years?  I mean if they are obligated to pay him $4 million or so a year, shouldnt that be allowed?  If someone wants to pay me $4 million a year i'll do whatever they want.

Anything is possible, but just isn't how these things go.
