I know he was a coordinator for Saban, but Foley cant be this desperate.

they beat BC by the same amount FSU did....
Quote:If only that could have gotten Muschamp to coach the defense.

Is that possible?  Hold him to his contract and coach the defense for the final two years?  I mean if they are obligated to pay him $4 million or so a year, shouldnt that be allowed?  If someone wants to pay me $4 million a year i'll do whatever they want.

situations like that just arent good for the locker room or the health of the program.
Quote:Have you seen the progression they've made with him being there.  The only mid major to beat two teams in the top 5 conferences.  Boston College being one.

it's not a homerun from the looks of it right now, but its solid.

Cant deny the progression he made, but im not sold on this hire unlike Meyer who had a more credible resume with Utah.

Agree with this.  Then again, is there a candidate like Urban available?

Exactly...unfortunately this is the closest they'll get.  There were LOTS of people criticizing the Urban hire as well....he's a small school coach that hasn't faced real competition. blah blah blah.

Other than the constant trend of his players getting arrested, it worked pretty well.

lol
No deal Foley flew home but talks ongoing

I wish we could get a guy like Dabo Swinney or Mike Gundy

They both coach in the power Confs, both have consistently won with high power offenses, both have players going into the NFL and a lot of big name guys

Swinney can recruit in FL and is all about speed

worked pretty well lol? You mean worked out amazing

He won two national championships and recruited and coached one of the best players in NCAA history

But yea the talk was that offense read option wouldnt work in the SEC, now look almost every team runs some form of it and its even run in the NFL now

Youre that thick to look at his record there? Like others on here. No surprise.

4-8, 8-6, 10-2. This after taking over a program with records of 3-9, 3-9, 3-9 the previous three seasons. Pretty proven coach and head coach, and resume. Proven in the SEC. Knows the conference.

very similar to the urban meyer hire in my opinion. the numbers in the records might not be the same but the improvement he made at colorado state was tremendous. the fact that they are where they are this season, no one saw coming.

Lol
I get the feeling the deal is dead. That buyout being the sticking point.

You guys gonna let money get in the way of getting your guy?

You'd have to ask Foley. I am not sure who you guys are.

Dabo was nothing before Chad Morris got to Clemson.

mike gundy is supposedly on record saying he wants the florida job.

When did Morris get there?

I got into it with someone on here when Dabo got the interim title and then eventually the job. He said Dabo would fizzle out, I said he'd be pretty highly successful. Still have those pm's with the poster who has since left.
