The qb play hasnt been the issue the last 3 weeks. The rest of the team isnt playing well enough. If that doesnt change, it wont matter how good blake is, gus will be gone. WINS are all that matter
So to say "theyll stay if blake pans out".... Blake could be excellent, but the team could continue to be sooooo bad that it wont translate to wins. See archie manning.
Somehow saying his record is only 0-3 is just laughable. We are 4-18 with this regime. It takes a lot of work and a lot of trying to be 4-18.

You have to own it.
Oh please let's rip apart the coaching staff and install a new system even though our rookies don't know the old system.  So basically NFL teams should retread with coaches and never break in new ones?

I guess you would fire Jimmy Johnson back in the day as well.  We might not make the 8 wins in 2 years that the Cowboys achieved but it will get better.  The best things in life aren't free and Steel sharpens Steel.  I know today has a quick fix mentality in all things but our team needs time.

I'll start beating the drum if 2015 is winding down and we are still a laughing stock.

No.

Excuses and acceptance of mediocrity is what got this team in the dump.
LOL at the joker/troll who thinks Caldwell is the problem. Caldwell's players have shown significantly more potential in their time here than Gene's did during the same time frame (and I was all for wait and see with Gene, but none of his guys flashed like Bortles, Allen, and Hurns in their rookie years).

I think if Gus pulls out 4 wins this year, his seat stays cool and he gets another season, but if that season starts 0-4 or 0-6, his seat will get real warm real quick. I also think the offense will mature quick enough to pull off 4 wins by the end of the season, so long as everyone stays healthy.

That's what I think Khan is thinking, but I have no problem with the arguments that Bradley's seat should be warm. He is 4-18 in his time here, regardless of the reasons behind it. I just don't think Khan nor Caldwell is so short-sighted as to turn over the coaching staff every 2 years. I think Khan will trust Caldwell's decision on the issue because Caldwell has earned it so far and I don't think Caldwell will fire Gus before next season.

I'm pretty sure Khan fired Smith and Mularkey relatively quickly. And based on what he is doing with his soccer team (along with his entire professional career), he doesn't really strike me as a guy who accepts excuses and mediocrity.

Facts and The More You know.  Agree.  Patience isn't what people want.

Well I sure as heck hope Khan doesn't accept excuses and mediocrity.

There's no reason to.

I am all for giving the head coach some time to see if he can be successful, but if you don't see the signs that he's got what it takes to be successful, you have to move on sooner rather than later.

I would give them 3 years to rebuild the team. I think that's reasonable. You assume they can't get it done and maybe you're right but you have to give them more than 18 months.

Acceptance of mediocrity by whom?

Do you think the mindset of people on a message board has any impact on the team?
Quote:OK fLSPRTSGOD - clearly you arent a fan or you are just dumb since you are ok with losing
u d bag.... yeah he's OK with losing lol... right...I like how that's all u get out of people's posts... push ur agenda with the few fruit cakes who agree with you... good luck with that.

With as much time you see some of these Madden clowns putting into their lame ideas and retorts you would think that they truly believe exactly that.

wait, u didn't get the memo... it doesn't matter what the FO, coaches, or players do, it's the fans who make teams and win superbowls lol... if we get butt hurt when we lose and call for people's heads, then we will obviously win games lol

Saying his record is only "0-3" is asinine. Its typical of the pathetic on this board trying to make excuses for the current head coach.

Sorry chief....the Jimmy Johnson example works AGAINST Gus Bradley here. Jimmy JOhnson's Cowboys were showing serious progress by year 2 of their rebuild. Not only did the record go from 1-15 to 7-9, but the defense only gave up 300 total points in his second season, and this was with a bunch of no-names that year.

I think its clear that Caldwell is doing a better job so far than the coaching. The roster has been upgraded in talent. The coaching has not progressed.

Yep. 2 full seasons is enough to start showing some serious improvement.

If the Jags merely finish this season as a mirror image of 2013, that shouldn't be good enough for Bradley to return.

See above.

So you're saying that having to play with Gabbert and Henne as your two QB options should count against him?
LOL... some still trying to make chicken salad out of chicken excrement.

Says more about your palate than common sense, that you think such a sandwich can be made edible.

It's not the chef, it's the ingredients.

But by all means, keep the chuckles coming.

What he's saying is that he'd rather have Mularkey back, since that makes him a superior coach.
Do any of you have any talking points or posts that you have penned you want me to mention or bring attention to at my meeting today with Mr. Khan and staff? It turns out that they keep an active eye here and have chosen me as your representative to pass along the valuable football acumen that is the Jaguars message board. They will enact some of the ideas and plans laid out here as soon as practice tomorrow. Can anyone say Championship?. Finally, we will not have to settle for mediocrity. Let's do this.
