Quote:Yes it is and if you don't understand why it isn't, I can't help you. This isn't about YOU or ME. It is about how an individual CHOOSES to experience the game. Trying to tell someone else how, eliminates any option but the one who is in power to dictate.
You might want to read the code of conduct that is provided to ticket buyers. Probably clear a few things up for you.
If it bothers you so much that the team is asking fans for a little common courtesy, nobody is forcing you to buy tickets. Much like it's your choice to stand, it's a choice to be inconsiderate of those around you. Read the code of conduct and you'll discover who wins that debate.
The Jaguars aren't mandating fans don't stand. They're even offering those who want to stand the entire game relocation to sections where standing is encouraged. How terrible of them.

They really don't. They need to be outraged about something.

Quote:You might want to read the code of conduct that is provided to ticket buyers. Probably clear a few things up for you.I've tried to make my point as clear as possible multiple times. First off, it's not about ME. Never have I said that I go to the games and stand up for the entire game, while also being rude and inconsiderate, as I've been called a number of times. I simply believe folks should be able to choose how they watch it. I never once said "I" stand and do so during the entire game. Nor did I once say that it was ok for anyone to be rude, obnoxious or an [BLEEP] while there, standing or sitting. The point I'm trying to make here is that folks should be able to stand when they want to, not just during specific plays or times when the majority gets excited. Others may want or need to stand during other times, may it be painful to sit for long periods, or simply because they are cheering or excited about something in the minority. I never once condoned rudeness or drunk idiots who stand the entire game just to be difficult who also refuse to move if they know they are being that way to the folks behind them. If you read everything I've said on the matter, you'd find that I'm being accurate in my summation of my posts, but people seem to prefer to assume. However, I'm finding just the few of you who don't agree with my opinion, suddenly try and make this personal by acting as though I am, or admitted to being one of the ones standing all game when I have always used pronouns and never once said "I stand all game" while also calling me offensive names. For the record, no I don't stand the entire game, but I do SOMETIMES (ON BAD DAYS) stand more than I sit because of my back. However, I have never once been "rude" "selfish" or "disrespectful" to anyone else and try to leave a clear path for those behind me. Just because I have a different view and opinion about this does not make me wrong nor you right. As everyone can clearly see, there seems to be a division of opinion on the matter for differing reasons. None of mine, have anything to do with what I do at the game and everything to do with disagreeing on being told what plays one can and cannot stand and cheer for. That is all I'm saying. I don't understand why some of you choose to not see my logic and go in defense mode as though I am some sort of enemy. I am simply pointing out why some others may want to stand at different or longer times than others, which I support their right in doing so. There certainly IS a considerate way one can watch the game standing without being a nuisance or rude.

Working out this morning and lo and behold, the Jaguars get mentioned on Fox News. Imagine my surprise when they were talking about letters to season ticket holders to stay in their seats during the game.
I guess with the tarp situation played out this will be the new item.

Pretty hard to boo sitting down.

The 24-hour news channels have all found that the people most likely to stay tuned during commercial breaks are those who are either outraged or perplexed. So they seek out stories that are outrageous, surprising, or somewhat humorous, at the expense of actual news. Or they take real news (say politics) and present it in a way that is outrageous, surprising, or humorous - even though politics is rarely any of those things.

I posted the link to Bleacher Report yesterday evening regarding this story, and this morning my post (thread) vanished. Not sure why. Some guy named "Alfie" reported it to Bleacher Report - I'm assuming Fox News picked up on it?

Can you point out where the Jaguars are telling people they are not permitted to stand during the games? That's not what the letter indicated, or even implied. They even went so far as to try to accommodate fans who would actually prefer to stand for most of the game.

As far as the letter goes and the media attention it's getting, I wonder how many other NFL teams have sent similar letter to ticket holders.
Right or wrong, I can see being made fun of.
Who moderates this standing? Does someone have a stop watch?
This was sent due to preseason complaints. IMO they should have waited till the real games started and see if the same fans were there.
Then of course there's the EEOC. Some short people can't see. Yet I've seen short people I couldn't see around.
So what do we do with the wide people?
Time to put on some Warren Zevon and chill a bit.
