When I started this thread I was probably a little naïve. I had no idea who "Alfie" was. I received a message that he ran BCC. I guess I am a little taken back as to why someone would operate a Jaguars related website, yet share with a national sports website a letter sent from the organization to a section of season ticket holders. Personally, to me, it's like working for a President of the U.S., and then having the gull to anonymously release info about the President, in a bad light. Tells me a lot about the person, I guess. As for the fans standing...I have no problem with fans standing. If I was standing and noticed an elderly couple or children behind me, I would at least have the courtesy of offering to switch seats. To me, it's about courtesy and doing the honorable thing. And, for BCC, I won't be visiting a site that purports to support the Jags, yet feeds the national media with junk that only undermines the Jags or its fan base. That to me, isn't very honorable.
If some one told me to watch the game via the videoboards because they were that much of an inconsiderate [BLEEP], and most likely that annoying drunk guy with small male parts that needs people to constantly pay attention to them, I'd probably get kicked out of the game after I knocked them out.
The bad spine example: maybe you shouldn't be attending games if your back is that bad. Medical conditions aren't a reason to be a jack [BLEEP].
Last time I looked at my tickets...they have a SEAT NUMBER on them.

Next home game look around you and really pay attention to the people that are standing up the whole time compared to the people that are up and down as the game play warrents it. Standing up the whole time is not the normal way a very large majority of people watch a game.
See I have a problem with this. Who are you to determine what game play warrants someone else's decision to stand for whatever reason he or she decides? Same question regarding your judge and jury definition of what constitutes normal. That's bordering on dictating someone's attire because you may not feel it's warranted or normal. It's about freedom of expression and individualism. Do the folks who stand beyond your warranted and normalized expectations ever approach you or your family and ask you to stand and cheer? Would you be offended if they did? Maybe you're sitting during warranted and normal game play, while everyone else is on their feet cheering. Maybe you really hate the Jags? Or perhaps your ankle is bothering you or you were on your feet all week and you just DO NOT WANT to stand? See where I'm going? This is about personal choice.

Yes it is and if you don't understand why it isn't, I can't help you. This isn't about YOU or ME. It is about how an individual CHOOSES to experience the game. Trying to tell someone else how, eliminates any option but the one who is in power to dictate.

The whole topic is about people standing the WHOLE game. Not during critical points ( or warranted, as you put it) in the game. You make it sound like it's all or nothing.

Welcome to the wonderful, inescapably unfair world of life. It is a situation that may seem frustrating if found in a circumstance less than perfect, but it is still one's freedom of expression, visually obstructed or not. Do the same thing you do at the theatre when a tall man is sitting in front of you. Or maybe he should just be asked to either sit on the floor or leave the theatre entirely. It is WHAT IT IS. That is what my point is.

I am not the one that's deciding what you can and can not do. The Jaguar organization has and they are telling you that you can no longer stand up the whole game and be an inconsiderate [BLEEP] hole to those around you. They are giving you an area that you can stand to your hearts content and won't bother anymore around you.

Yes that is very true. We are in America, one person can ruin it for all. Either way in this case. Whether it's an annoying guy who never sits or the one crybaby that complains because the person in front jumped up in excitement because of an int and they missed the TD.

And since when is standing during a game selfish? The person trying to make others conform to how he or she wants them to view the game would be the selfish. How do you know that someone isn't standing because it is more comfortable? You don't. That is all I am trying to say. When situations such as these are breached, then when and where does the authoritative peremptory end?

Standing up the whole game, for whatever reason, is making the people behind you conform to your wishes, not their own. How do you know that the person sitting behind you isn't sitting because it's more comfortable for them? You don't...
Pretty sure doing something without regards to others is the definition of selfish.
