To the people that stand on 3rd down and such...I don't think anyone has a problem with that.  It's those that stand for quarters at a time that know they are being a distraction for others, and dont care.

People pay a lot of money for those seats.  If they want to sit down and watch the game, that's their prerogative.  It's also their prerogative to complain about people who stand and obstruct their view for a majority of the game.  It's rude and inconsiderate of others to think that it's okay to stand the whole game without regard for who is behind you. 

 

I've got elderly fans sitting behind me, and I know the one who pays for their seats has had season tickets from the beginning.  He has a hard time just getting to his seats but he's there every home game, regular or preseason.  Our entire row recognizes that he and his wife are great fans who have been dedicated to this team from the start, and we respect that they can't get up and down for every play in order to see around someone in front of them. 

 

The stadium has standing sections in the NEZ where fans can go and stand all game long if they prefer.  It's really not that difficult to have some respect and consider those around you at games.

There's definitely a place for them.  Just not in front of people who prefer to sit.

When did common sense and common courtesy become so uncommon?

I don't disagree. Just making a point. Honestly though I've been told to sit down during 3rd down stops before. Now that annoys me. I should say it used to annoy me a lot, but I think I got tired of arguing. I actually moved like 4 years in a row because the fans behind me were so bad. It works both ways at least it did in my experience. I don't stand much anymore and yell while sitting down which sucks.

I think they should have a short zone and maybe a senior zone for this very reason.

Same goes for concerts. No standing, everyone can enjoy the music sitting down. Must make everyone happy. Cannot discriminate. 

 

Actually standing releases nervous energy. You also cant yell as loud when sitting. Players also know when the fans are standing screaming for them. .

 

Its a football game. There will be standing. Rather sit? Theres the opera. Club seats. The bigger than life screens. The couch. Or a rule stating standing only during pivotal points in the game.

I agree there are situations where the CROWD is on their feet due to situations. The 0-9 game against Pittsburgh..what seems like forever ago...the ENTIRE stadium was amped for the second half, night game, Steelers, they didn't get on the other side of the 50 the whole night. It was incredible. I bet there weren't a lot of standing complaints that game. However, when you are getting waxed in a preseason home game and can't see whatever is going on because some people are indignant about their "right" to stand. That's horse poo.

Well, you're welcome to move up to our section.  Nobody is standing in front of my seats. 

Maybe people stand because the plastic seats are uncomfortable as hell.
