Quote:So if Henne plays lights out then you think they'd still pull him as soon as Bortles is ready? I think part of it does have to do with how Henne performs. But that's just my opinion.

Please define what you mean by Henne playing lights out?
So I was bored at work and think about an explosive henne, well, all I can think about was changing the first part of mc hammers "u can't touch this" to an appropriate Henne song. Still got most the song left to figure out but here what I got so far...

"U can't catch this"

My, my, my, completing passes, is so hard

Makes me say oh my lawd.

Thank you, for being too blind to see

I'm a back up not #1 QB

You know it sucks when we're down

Got henne in for another check down.

And I'm known as such

And this is a pass, you can't catch.
This is a joke.  They must be setting Henne up for failure.  Have him throw down field and get a bunch of INT's, and then insert Bortles because he is not performing....I think they are ready for BB, like the rest of the world...

Quote:What if Henne turns it around and starts playing lights out and wins 15 in a row and they name him the starter next year and he goes 11-5, then they are forced to name him the starter for 2016 and he just keeps winning. What if he starts shattering QB records? Does Blake still sit?

Please put the crack pipe down and step away from it.

That was my exact thoughts when I first read it too.
Quote:What if they switch him to playing lefty and he turns into the next Peyton Manning? Do we blame the coaching staff for not realizing he has been the worst starting QB in the NFL for all of these years simply because he was throwing with the wrong arm?

I guess you didn't put that crack pipe down did you?

Haha, Henne will only be able to shatter his own int/sack record if allowed to play all season

Jaguars QB Chad Henne on taking more shots down field: "As much as they call them, I'm going to huck 'em and chuck 'em."

Hahaha, Henne is fooling himself.

Maybe Gus wants Henne to force his hand in benching him..

lol. I like it.
Quote:If the Jags can get a pick for Chad Henne, I will celebrate like there's no tomorrow. Drinks on me

I suspect we will all remain very thirsty.
I don't see Henne pushing the ball consistently down field w/o quad-droopling his INTs...

Quote:Or, maybe he rises to the challenge and actually shows well.  It's not going to change his fate regardless. I'd prefer to root for him to do well because it only benefits this team on several fronts.

We all root for Henne to do well, each and every game he starts.

One of the biggest problems with Henne is that even when he plays well for a while in a game, he eventually wakes up and morphs back into the same old inconsistent Henne we see way too much of on the field.

Another problem is that even though he has stretches where he plays lights out ( like the 1st qtr and a half against Philly and the Texans game w/ JB) the Jags still don't win the game.

This ^ . So frustrating watching him play.

HENNE TIME...

NH3...
Quote:I'm with 'ya on this. I'm not against Henne by any means, but... well, he is what he is. Let me put it this way....

Your in a car race, so you need a fast car that handles good to be competitive.... and you've finally gotten one! Unfortunately, your best car isn't being allowed in the race at this time for fear that other cars will bash into it and damage it before it ever has a chance to win a race. Therefore, you run the older, slower and lower performance car that you have. You know it can't win a big race, but it's been around a good while and can finish; and besides, it's all you have until the new car is allowed to race....

That's kinda' how I see us with Henne and Bortles for now. Henne isn't a game changer; he's a game manager. I don't mean that in a mean spirited way either. Teams need quarterbacks who are 'game managers'. It's just that usually, they are the back-up quarterbacks, not the starter. Since that's not the case in J'ville, I have to think that the coaches have a good reason to be doing this. I wrote a rather blunt, 'screaming' post just before the play offs started stating (in so many words...) 'I demand a team that can win'. Yup... guilty. So at this point, while I still want a winning team, I'm just going to have to 'suck it up' and wait until we really do have the players in the key positions (like the offensive line, for example...) that can win the battles in the trenches where games are really won or lost. Funny, linesmen don't get much 'glory', yet they are the ones who really win... or lose, games.

I would be happy if Henne just found a way to game manage the Jags to a WIN.

Can he just do this for us Jags fans?

TRUE...

All True...

NH3...
What if we'd just go Hail Mary on every play.  Line up 3 WRs on the same side ... let them run the deep route ... and keep our fingers crossed.  imagine that every single play !!!   talk about explosive !!!

All I know is what my eyes saw... And my eyes saw Blake Bortles do in 87 seconds what Chad Henne couldn't do in two quarters, minus 87 seconds, against a first string defense. Whether or not they game planned is inconsequential. The man is ready.....

Quote:Yawn.  This argument has zero tread left on the tires.  Nobody is expecting Henne to become a top tier QB.

Bortles will take the field when they decide he's ready to do so.  Until then, we should be trying to get the max we can from Henne.

I believe we have seen the max from Henne.

If the coaches want Henne to " be more explosive minded" they are asking Henne to do something he has never done before.

How do you think that will turn out for Henne and the Jags?

I have my suspicions, but I am willing to see how it goes.

What do the Jags have to lose anyway, another game with Henne as the starting QB.

What's his record as a starting QB for the Jags?
He's got a grand total of 5 wins since he's been here...
