Quote:Do you really think the eight people who come on here daily whining about Bortles not being the starter will reflect how the crowd will react on opening day?

The great majority of people will be there to support the Jaguars regardless of who the quarterback is. Don't confuse this board's obsession with the real world. It's not going to get ugly.

Now, if the Jaguars are 2-10 and Henne is still playing ...

There are enough people in this fan base who will absolutely boo Henne if they announce the offense.  It's reflective of their intellect, and there are enough of them to make it easy enough to hear them, even in a packed stadium.

The first time Bortles took the field in the preseason, the place erupted.  Expect to hear boos if Henne is the starter when they play their first home game next week.

That is typically the case with him.
Quote:Sooo they want Henne to turn into Bortles?  lol

Gus: Alright, this Sunday Chad, I want you to do your best Bortles impression.

Chad: Gotcha!

(Sunday)

Gus: WHAT ARE YOU DOING CHAD?!

Chad: My best Bortles impression.

Gus: THE PLAYCLOCK IS WINDING DOWN!  Get off the bench!

Chad: But you asked me to do my best Bortles impression.

Gus: *facepalm*

Even if Henne plays lights out against the Redskins this week, and the team wins big, he'll still be booed if he's starting vs. Indy.  It won't be a cascade of boos coming from the majority, but there will be enough to hear it for sure.

Why does intellect have anything to do with it? Because they do not agree with you?

This fanbase?

You honestly think that any of the other 31 teams had the exact same situation, it wouldn't happen there?

Precisely!
Hopefully this just the coach signaling a change at qb sooner than later. If bortles doesn't start our home opener, I am disappoint.
I wonder if the impending, incessant booing at our home opener will change Caldwell's mind on keeping Henne in.

If that's all it takes for Caldwell or Bradley to deviate from their plan, both should be fired.  You don't let the fans run the franchise.

Those who will be most vocal tend to be the least logical.  It's not difficult to understand.  They boo because that's the emotion they feel, and that's the only way they feel they can express themselves.

No, I don't think we hold a monopoly here, but we're not talking about 31 other teams in this thread, are we?

Quote:LOL. That's kinda' funny but also scary as hell given the quality of interception he's known for throwing.

Extra tackling drills for our receivers this week?

I just imagine Washington's DBs all lined up 50 yards down field and Henne yelling "FIVE HUNDRED!" As he closes his eyes and let's it rip.

Fans are emotional. Being an emotional fan does not reflect ones intellect.

No. But it certainly sounds like you are inferring that it is exclusive to this fan base.

We're not talking about the other 31 teams in the league, so feel free to read between the lines.

Understood, but after spending 20 years attending games, the usual suspects who you can count on to be the loudest when it comes to basing anything the team does during games tend to be of a certain ilk.

And I'm not saying that booing the team means you're an idiot, especially when things are downright awful.  But, when you boo the team right out of the tunnel?  Or boo a specific player?

FINALLY

On point here
Reminds me of the time the team wanted Garrard to be an elite QB.
