Quote:Wow, if THAT  is "top 5" pass blocking, then pass blocking (leaguewide) has really gone downhill.   :woot:
It isnt in the top 5.  In fact I saw Zane Beadles try to hold down more than his assignment because on more than one occasion Luke blew his, one time it was so bad luke didnt even block anybody and a guy ran right past him while Luke kept looking for someone to block.  That being said at times Luke did a great job, and he did come back from an injury and changed from Right to Left again.  I feel that Zane Beadles is the best OLine on the team at LG he's easily a top 25 Guard in the NFL, but Center has been a disaster at times, LG got a lot of help from Pazstor but with him being injured having and Cam back in the Oline does need to fine tune this Thursday.

you don't know what the assignment was or who messed up.

none of us do.
Quote:Dude its preseason most teams dont blitz as frequent & very vanilla playbooks on both sides of the ball.  I first hope that the Oline can remain healthy this year, and that pass blocking doesnt become a concern if so the team should be very succesful because Toby will power thru for at least 3 yards regardless...

I get that it's preseason, but there's also a reason why the preseason is used to evaluate and determine lineups.  It's still credible information.  Wins and losses don't matter as much as individual performances do in the preseason.
Quote:Gus with the misdirection, Bortles starts week 1. Ninja

Philly would flip haha

Yep. It always cracks me up when people 'evaluate' OL play.
From the local rag....

"The future may be next year for Jaguars rookie QB Blake Bortles if everything goes as planned"

By Hays Carlyon

Bradley was asked if Thursday will be the last time Bortles plays this season.

“It could be,” Bradley said. “I haven’t talked to him about it. I just say ‘Hey, continue to prepare. You’re a play away. You have to have that mindset like that. Just keep working and sitting in those meetings, take good notes.’ But, I don’t know, we haven’t talked that much about it. It’s been mostly this game, capture it and perform well in practice.”

Sad, looking at our schedule again today and there honestly isn't one unwinable game on it with Bortles at QB. I'll trust that Gus is doing the right thing though.
I almost feel like Gus and Dave know that our line is so weak at the moment that they just don't want Blake to look bad and screw up how great their pick has been so far. They are treating him like an investment and will ensure his success at any cost.
