Quote:Anyone who thinks Henne should start is a moron. You're capable of winning nine games behind Bortles, which may very well win the AFC South. He's not only a good QB, but he's a winner. When it's do or die, he always comes through. The Jaguars have kept a lot of games close in the past with terrible quarterbacking and lost by a single possession. Now, imagine having a good quarterback who is as clutch as they come? It's terrible to hear the fanbase and organization getting behind losing, when the can indeed make the playoffs.
Not sure what jags teams you been watching but last year we stayed getting blowed out.
Nobody thinks Henne should be the starter except our coaches. All us fans want to start winning now. It's a faction who realizes we have no control over this and there is another faction who wants to say screw the initial plan and start him now.

The initial plan was to start him when ready.
He's ready, time to suit up...

Everyone realizes they don't have any control over it. That doesn't matter for discussion.
He's shown every time he's played that he's mentally and physically ready.
Playing Blake > sitting Blake is just my opinion.
Quote:LOL, no they aren't capable of winning 9 this season (even with Bortles starting all 16), and no it won't be enough to win the AFCS anyway.... .gif)
Our roster is still bottom half of the league, maybe bottom third lol. We have a ways to go before we get to 9 wins.
Quote:Curious how many Henne decision supporters will be sitting in the Bank in 100 degree weather in September watching Henne sling the rock around 5 yards.
By the time those games actually get here, Bortles may be starting, so stop whining.

He's ready says the internet forum member. Welp, you heard him Gus. What are you waiting for?

And this is why nobody respects the Jaguars fan base. As pessimistic as they come. I'm an objective outside observer, EXCEPT for the fact I've watched Blake in person for the past two years and have seen just how great he really is. The Jaguars have a solid defense and talented young receivers. Hurns looks like a stud, Shorts is a proven beast, and the probability of either Robinson or Lee being good is pretty high. Every team has flaws, yours is the O-line. Bortles is a QB who can overcome that flaw because he knows how to manage the pocket and roll out. He'll also give the O-line a reason to actually play their best, It's a mental game too.

exactly, that was my point.

Bortles gives us a punchers chance at putting numbers on the scoreboard. With Henne at the helm, we have to count on the defense playing lights out. If Bortles starts from day one, 8 wins is a real possibility.

That's great. Go to the NY giants forum and worry about your QB problems. Eli manning is awful. Maybe the giants will offer something for henne because you don't get much worse than modern day Eli.hey you guys should start nassib. I watched him play in person when I lived in NY and he's a winner.

He's waiting to announce it after the 4th game...
He's hardly foolish. Will you eat some crow if he does?

Exactly. A pool isn't going to keep the fans around to watch a 1 yard dump off. After all the booing in the first half and 1/5 filled stadium after halftime nothing has really changed. I like Dave and Gus I mean if it weren't for them we wouldn't have players like Clemons, Bryant and of course Bortles. This is going to leave a lot of people scratching their heads and not just in Jacksonville. It will keep being brought up every time Chad screws up and the talking heads are doing highlights.

all that is fine and good and this roster is still not talented enough yet to win 9 this year even with Blake starting em all.
By 2015? Yes.

As good as Blake was this preseason, he's led a total of one TD drive.
One.
This team isn't throwing away any playoff season by not starting Blake immediately.

And see that's where we differ in opinion. I think that does play a role. The coaches have told me he will sit so I think he should sit. Yeah I know I'm a fan and I have me own eyes and all that crap. You know what else I realized, that after we drafted the kid I and about 98% of the other people on this board don't know jack about how to evaluate a qb.
When watching him I college I would have never thought he would adjust this fast. This is one of those moments where I trust the team on this one. You guys want to argue for the sake of arguing. Soon as this realization sits in, I think this will go a lot smoother for you guys.
Caldwell could careless what we think and that's why I like him. I think he'd sit Bortles for the year if he really wanted to, to prove his point. The guy showed me he has a pair and he has my trust in his judgement.

Is that better than Henne's 0 touchdowns this preseason?
Funny a NY giants fan talking about no respect for a fan base. Giants fans are literally the laughing stock of most of the state if NY because of how arrogant and uninformed they are. Every year when the season starts they're yelling and boasting about how good they are and how Eli is gonna go to the hall of fame and then every year they disappear after two weeks. Only crawling out of their hole if they make the playoffs. Otherwise its quiet as a mouse. No one knows any players outside of manning and Cruz. Just some of the worst sports fans I've ever met.

Oh our Division stinks, we could win 8 and have a shot at winning the division. We could easily make the playoffs

You're funny. Eli is still Elite when he has time in the pocket. Without it, well, things are pretty awful. He still has a superbowl left to win, but you can talk trash until he does.
