You have no idea what exact posts got me suspended and you make yourself look foolish for acting like you do know. I know, and you're way off.
Quote:According to this article, Smith was cut because he struggled to learn the offense.

No mention of bad hands.

Well I remember Kotite mentioning drops as a reason back when the cut happened, he did this on his weekly show. Maybe it wasn't the only reason...heck as it turned out, drugs allegedly was the real reason, so Kotite probably was citing several "excuses" to make it sound as if football reasons were the culprit.

I don't know if it was right to laugh or not, but this made me laugh as I read it.

I could actually almost hear TMD saying it as I read it.

Well TMD, what did you think of Jimmy getting cut when it happened?

Surprised?, Expected?  Something else?

I actually hated the cut.

You know how when you watch Bortles, and he simply passes the eye test in these preseason games? He just has a different look than most of the other QB - the poise, the way the football leaves his hand/ and trajectory/ velocity/ the accuracy....

Well, Jimmy Smith had this same "look" to him but in aspects that differentiate Joe bag o donuts WR's to the real good ones. You could tell he had a knack to get open and when the ball did come to him, there was always this sense of him breaking a long one.

By that time I had long known Kotite was a bad coach, so this cut was just more fuel to the fire to me back then.

Who were the receivers that made the team?  I'd be interested to see who kept Jimmy Smith off the team.

IIRC, it was Victor Bailey who won that last WR spot.

They already had Calvin Williams and Barnett, so those 2 weren't going anywhere. I don't remember the others.

You label my posts trolling because you can't stand to hear anything negative. Grow up and grow a pair. And that goes for predator too.

Wahhhhhhh. You're definitely a troll. Every opportunity to bash shorts or ace... Gratz or cyp, you take, even if the thread has nothing to do with those players.

Then, if you can't tie them into a random thread, you create one to push your agenda.

Troll city.

It's also a cautionary tale as people continue to hold out hope that Justin Blackmon makes it back on the field.
Does this quote sound sound familiar?  "So, because some people never change, that means it never happens?"

You really do reverse your position to fit the thread of the moment, don't you?   Laughing

The problem here is blackmon has had what? 4 opportunities? To prove he has changed now.

Maybe after his first strike, maybe after the second...but after the third and fourth, you can't give someone the benefit of the doubt.

Sorry, the quote illustrates FBT flipping positions (Defending Incognito after I said some people never change.)

PS   I stopped with Blackmon a long time ago; right after his DWI press conference with Smith and Malarkey.

I see. I think incognito should be given a shot though. I read through every single one of those text messages between him and the turncoat. Those guys busted each others balls equally. Incognito always had his back too. All they ever talked about was going out, getting drunk, and if they got any. Like a couple of frat dudes.

I never bothered with the texts, I just don't want him for all the other reasons.  He's been the drunk frat dude his entire career and he's just more trouble than he's worth.
Jimmy Smith was a rare talent of real speed combined with good hands.  He at one time was one of the fastest players in the league an would just out run db's. It's a rare shame his drug problems later in his career.

Your trolling is obvious. Deny it all you want.

Yep, and he'll be the first person to label someone else a flip flopper.

It wasn't just his speed or his hands.  It was his route running.   He could change direction at top speed, something even the fastest WRs often can't seem to do.   Most WRs I see at training camp or in games, when they change direction they have a little hitch or dip or slowdown or something that tips ti DB off to the fact that they're making a cut.  Jimmy Smith would be running at top speed and suddenly he's made his cut and still running at top speed, no hitch in his cut.

And he was really aware of whatever flaws there were in the DB's technique.  I remember one game he was miked up and he came back to Mark Brunell on the sideline and told him the CB who was covering him was making some kind of false step, so the next play, sure enough, Brunell hits him for a long TD.

So it wasn't just speed and hands, it was all the little intricacies that separate a good WR from a great one.
This thread...

"Absolutely stupid"

Wow. You're really reaching now. Saying Jimmy Smith is a cautionary tale is somehow flipping an opinion when I say people are capable of change? Pretty pathetic bit of flailing here.

Even Jimmy Smith is capable of turning his life around. How am I flipping my opinion here? Are you really trying to say people are incapable of changing ever? Really? Probably one of the more idiotic things you've posted here.
I'd say the vast majority of NFL personnel guys do a great job and know what they're doing. So when a big, fast, sudden WR like Jimmy Smith can't make a roster as a 5th receiver it's safe to assume something along the lines of "buyer: beware". Cris Carter being cut suddenly by Buddy Ryan was a similar case
