Quote:When government subsidization priced most consumers out of the market, just like with college tuition.

funny anytime government gets involved the market prices rise to unbelievable levels, huh wonder why?
Quote:This is very true, Presidents are just puppets for the elites. Obama was sent in to finish what Bush started, take down the American Economy to set up a global currency.

Sigh.

You've alluded to this before - and you aren't the only one.

It's what I call the Wizard of Oz view of politics; i.e., that there is someone, somewhere, behind a wall pulling the strings. Of course, we're never shown any sensible information as to who these "elites" are. I think I've counted 196 groups or individuals over the years that are the "real" power.

I understand that when you are uncertain and afraid of the future you want some worldview that makes it all ok, or at least understandable. Isn't that what Communism and Nazism did? Make things understandable to "the people"? And no, I'm not calling you a Communist or Nazi. They are just the most stark examples of an ideology that existed to "explain" to the masses that there were great mysterious forces at work. People pulling the strings of the puppet.

I think you're pushing an anti-democratic worldview that has shown over and over again to be a failure. It invites demagogues and dictators and at heart is truly un-American.

Biggest troll ever?
Quote:its okay....even if its not true, just throw that out there...isn't that a usual liberal thing?

Thanks man.. I hadn't been called a liberal in at least 5 minutes and I was starting to feel all weird inside. That wasn't the story I was thinking of. I want to say it had to do with campaign contributions from some neo-nazi type group. I will try to find it.
BTW.. You should know I get into regular debates with some of those (low down, dirty, ignoramus) liberals about some of my more conservative stances since you like to wrap everything in a neat, easily digested bow.
Quote:So what are the failings of 'obamacare' exactly?

http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/obamacare-mismanagement-rollout-failures/2014/07/30/id/585821/

The GAO just put out a report showing just how inept this bunch was with the ObamaCare rollout. They spent $840,000,000 on a website that still doesn't work correctly. Nearly $1 billion spent on a website. Seriously. I'll guarantee you high volume retail operations with very complicated security like Amazon or eBay that handle more transactions on a daily basis than healthcare.gov didn't cost even 1/10th to develop. This is a perfect example of how the government mismanaged resources and doesn't understand how to work in the private sector marketplace.
I used to work for a firm in DC that tracked government spending in the IT vertical. Yes, this is absurdly wasteful. Absurd. But, the layman has no clue just how much waste there is. The entire procurement process invites waste and is long overdue for an overhaul. Back in roughly 2006, DHS renewed a government initiative (anti-terrorist) to identify people coming across our borders. This was a multi-billion dollar effort. After three years, they were able to successfully identify less than 3% of these people with absolute certainty. And it was renewed for another multiyear, multi-billion dollar project despite a 97% failure rate. This is just one example. There are an endless number of these.

Really it leaves one wondering why the federal government doesn't simply have its own technology department that implements the web services without need for overpaid contractors.

If you want to solve government pork issues bring development in house and expand the government's role so it can create and maintain its own web presence instead of paying massive corporations massive amounts of money with no oversight.
I think the person who voted excellent owes us an explanation. The op should of made the vote visible so one particular poster would have to pull out the tap shoes

Thats what I was thinking.

I'd bet it was probably Adam2012,....the guy that claims he leans Right, yet in just about every topic/ issue that we discuss on here, he seems to argue for the side of the Left, or have an opinion that the typical Lefty would have on said issue(s).
The problem is that all the different branches do not communicate. If NOAA wants to upgrade their computers and DOI just did it six months ago, though they do look at how this was done, they still do their own RFP from scratch. They are being sold solutions which do not "talk well" with each other and trying to link them up. It is a mess.

And you claim to have a brain, but yet you fail to use it.

What, no more Bill Bennett pieces to tell us what you think? You fit the Howdy Doody profile perfectly.

Funny - you never replied to my request that you give examples of my liberalism. Shocking!

And no, I didn't rate your whipping boy as excelllent. I'm sure someone did so he could see you (and others) come close to having a stroke.

There's nothing mysterious about it, it's called Agenda 21. It's also been refereed to as a New World Order by both major political parties in the United States and just about every other established government in the world.

You're right I am anti-democratic, I believe in the representative government that was originally founded, we are a Constitutional Republic not a Democracy.

Benjamin Franklin — 'Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.'

Oh, so you just side with the Left on pretty much every issue that comes up on here, but you're not liberal.... lol crackpot. Laughing

So you can't do it. Not surprising.

Now - go call someone a liberal. Which is the extent of you political knowledge and depth.

Actually I did respond to that post you are talking about, so like most libs.....if you're talking, you're lying. Laughing

Agenda 21? Really?

Does that line about being anti-democratic and believing in representative government really wow them at the union hall or VFW or wherever?

We all need a hobby, and perhaps yours is to worry about such stuff. Good luck in your search for the boogie man.

Thanks for proving my point.

It really bothers you that I can respond to your hyperbole huh?

I gotta say I'm disappointed in your ability to counter any points I make. I figured you and rollerjag would be good people to discuss politics with in a reasonable way. I could always tell we had different views but you've really done nothing to discuss any of the issues. You simply make hyperbole statements and then respond with silly remarks like the union hall or VFW thing.

I guess there really isn't much to your viewpoints it's the only assumption I can make since you make no case on any of it.
