Quote:You and Oklahomie make a good team.
If they allowed cameras in the Rams practice facility....who wouldnt be affected?
What exactly are you arguing against? Cameras are not allowed at the Rams facility, its a moot point. This will be happening on Michael Sam's own time, not theirs. Who wouldn't be affected if they allowed human sacrifice in the ice baths?
Quote:I agree. Most teams have several of each. But those guys don't get a show dedicated to them. At the very least maybe some of of those overpaid morons have done something on the field to deserve some sort of one on one show about them.
You truly believe the second line?
No they don't, but they are probably still unpopular in the locker room and cause all the rifts you would find in any work place. I don't imagine Sam's appearances on TV will be any more of a problem than any of the issues caused by having any of the other personality types in there. If there are players who find the fact that one of their team mates is on TV such a distraction that it affects their performance, I'd suggest the issue isn't with Sam.
I don't believe there will be such a wave of media intrusion into the Rams team that their whole dynamic and season is compromised. Might there be minor distractions for other players? Yes. Will these be enough to derail a whole football team? I doubt it.
If the Broncos can cope with Tebowmaina and if the Jets can cope with Favre watch then I'm sure the Rams can cope with Sam and Oprah.
I'm sold. Zero distraction whatsoever. I can't believe the project got cancelled.
Quote:A show about the team and a show about an individual (and in this case, the majority not about football I'd imagine) are totally different. Comparing apples to oranges there. As is the example of players having kids, getting married/divorced, etc.
Comparing Apples and Oranges is not only very doable, but it's not a bad idea at all to compare the two. You can compare their size, their color, shape, taste, acidity... they're very comparable.

Has it actually been formally cancelled then? I thought it was just going to be a Michael Sam show.
Quote:You can't have actual thoughts and feelings regarding actions of others? That's ludicrous. He said OMG, and Horrible. Not to mention the Horrible was in reply to a question posed by someone else.
Remember the CB from Seattle last year, Browner? The NFL slandered his name, and continued doing so. It went to court (may still be fighting it I am not sure). Did the NFL apologize or recant what they claimed? Nope, fight on in court baby. Now the shoe is on the other foot here and it is deemed wrong.
oh, uhmmmm,........ a humina humina humina....
darn you, stop it with the truth, thats a bad word for
some.

Michael Sam will not be having a show....the Rams organization let the Oprah Network know that this year would not be a good idea for that.
I'm not sure exactly what you are argueing against now because I think you were confused and thought the show was still going on. My whole point is that if either Hard Knocks or a film crew for Michael Sam were allowed into a locker room, there would be distraction. Your daily normal routine in training camp would be interrupted. Coaches would hold back on saying certain things, players would hold back on doing/saying things.
If Hard Knocks was a good thing, teams would be scrambling to be on it....they aren't.

Perhaps that old idiom is lost on you, or I'd venture to guess just wanting to be difficult, because I think you're intelligent enough to know what was being conveyed. For you then.....it's comparing a nice juicy steak to a car bumper.

If that thing that is definitely not happening and was never happening happened, yes, I agree with you that it would have been a distraction.
It works both ways, if Hard Knocks was a bad thing, nobody would be on it, ever.

I believe it was cancelled officially about a week or so ago, yes. "Postponed Indefinitely".

Not true, because Hard Knocks is about football, and about a team for 90% of the show or more.

You need to read back a few, I don't think Hard Knocks is a bad thing at all.

I know the idiom. I just think it's a silly one.

Hey I agreed earlier to, see. :whistling:

Teams do Hard Knocks because its a money maker for the NFL. There are typically a team or two a year that show interest. The other 30 or so teams want business as usual.
Even the Jags, Browns, and Rams said they didn't want in this year.
Quote:Yep. Thats the agenda.
Come on - you've proven you're ignorant on this subject. Quit piling on.
