Quote:Don't imply that it's not his right to fill his kid's head with hatred! RABBLE RABBLE!
Talk about over the top and running to conclusions.
Apparently, you're allowed to have your own opinion, unless you disagree with gay people. Then you're wrong and a hateful person.
Quote:I don't think that was to common, people have been gay for centuries heck in the Roman times it was common for men and women to be bisexual, you ever watch Game of Thrones!?

Wait.  Game of Thrones takes place in Roman times?

So do you think gay people would have the rights they do both politically and socially if they kept it to themselves?

Even someone as tolerant as Bill Maher has confirmed there is a gay mafia that will take you out the minute you step out of line as far as they're concerned.

Or you are allowed to have your opinion. Whose opinion has been taken away?
Quote:Don't connect marriage to preference in this instance.

People can be opposed to one while really not caring what someone does behind closed doors.

If you polled folks, the majority would say they really don't care what his preference is.  What bothers them is the in your face method the networks have used to try to force this on the population as a whole.

I don't care that Sam is gay any more than he cares that I'm straight.  The difference here is he has decided to become an advocate by being so public about coming out.  I'm convinced there was intent behind that action, and it was more about advancing his football career by going as public as he possibly could.

Like I've said before, a current player in the league who is gay (and there are gay players) should take this opportunity to come out.  We'll find out very quickly that whoever it might be, it was probably pretty common knowledge he was gay, and teammates have been fine with it.  Why?  Because he's not out there in the media trying to become an advocate.  It's simply who he is.

The media has made this a circus, and Sam has willingly played the role of subject.  Once the novelty wears off, his career will fade away into the ether.

I'm always amazed at how comfortable some people are claiming to know what another man's motives are when they've never met before. Even if he is being an advocate, is that wrong? Should NFL players not have beliefs or causes they fight for?

As for an existing player being gay. Presumably you've been in a relationship before. Did you hold hands in public? Did you kiss goodbye? Did you say I love you out loud in places other people could hear you? If there is another gay player he would have had to have hidden this part of his life since the day he was in the public eye. There is no way there is another gay player and it is common knowledge. There is no way with the public interest in football and the turnover of staff that there could be another gay player just sat there with all his teammates and coaches shrugging their shoulders going 'yeah of course he's gay'. If there are other gay players, the reason we've never heard of them is because they live a lie.
