He has some legal issues hanging over him. Could go undrafted.

MOCK 6.0 2/20/14

*HIGHLIGHTS* - Oakland gets a Boyd/Watkins pairing, Cardinals draft Carr, JAGS Trade Back into first

1. Houston Texans (2-14) - Johnny Manziel QB

I think the owner and the residents of Houston will be a big factor for Johnny going to the Texans. I think Johnny’s new commitment towards becoming a better person and quarterback will definitely help his stock. He has been training with a former Bill Obrien assistant and he’s stated he WANTS to be a Texan. I think the Texans oblige.

2. Atlanta Falcons (Skins 3-13) - Jadeveon Clowney DE

I still feel the Falcons will trade up for a shot at Clowney. Albeit the Browns will probably also try to trade up for Bridgewater. We will see I guess. But, for now I think the Rams will trade this pick to the Falcons. Perhaps the Browns will be content knowing Bridgewater and Bortles will still be available.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-12) - Teddy Bridgewater QB

I have been trying to not mock Bridgewater to us several times. But, I hold with such conviction that Teddy will be a Jaguar. It just makes sense. Him in a Jaguars uniform makes sense to me. Now for cliches… he has a great work ethic, has all the tools, and [BAD WORD REMOVED] we need a Quarterback. I think at this point in Caldwells mind its 1A CLOWNEY 1B Bridgewater 1C Mack

4. Cleveland Browns (4-12) - Blake Bortles QB

5. Oakland Raiders (4-12) - Sammy Watkins WR

6. St. Louis Rams (4-12) - Jake Matthews OT

7. Tampa Bay Buccs (4-12) - Greg Robinson OT

8. Minnesota Vikings (5-10-1) - Khalil Mack OLB

9. Buffalo Bills (6-10) - Anthony Barr OLB

10. Detroit Lions (6-10) - Taylor Lewan OT

11. Tennesse Titans - Zach Martin OT

12. New York Giants - C.J. Mosley ILB

13. St. Louis Rams - Eric Ebron TE

14. Chicago Bears - Darqueze Dennard CB

15. Pittsburgh Steelers - Aaron Donald DT

16. Dallas Cowboys - Timmy Jernigan DT

17. Baltimore Ravens - Calvin Pyror S

18. New York Jets - Marquise Lee WR

19. Miami Dolphins - Cyrus Kouandjo OT

20. Arizona Cardinals - Derek Carr QB

21. Green Bay Packers - HAHA Clinton Dix S

22. Philadelphia Eagles - Justin Gilbert CB

23. Kansas City Chiefs - Mike Evans WR

24. Cincinnati Bengals - LaMarcus Joyner CB

I like it, but I would substitute Bortles for Bridgewater as far as Caldwell's rankings/board. That would leave us drafting Bortles in this scenario, but I think Houston takes him #1 overall anyway.

As for the rest of the draft, most picks look pretty good to me. However, Cleveland is set at TE. I think they would go with a WR there, possibly Beckham Jr. I also think: Ebron will drop, no way Evans lasts to #23, I don't think Tenn needs an OT.
Quote:I like your draft, but there is no way some of those players fall where they do. McCarron seems a bit too nutty for me.

I used the fan speak mock draft so was going off of that to see who was available at each position but yeah was kinda surprised myself

Would love Seastrunk in teal.
Here's my mock draft for the Jags.

Rd. 1 Bridgewater

2 Dee Ford (or next best pass rusher)

       3 Xavier Su'-a Fila

4 Christian Kirksey and Chris Smith

5 Andre Williams, Crockett Gilmore and Matt Hazel

       6 Aaron Colvin

       7 Defensive tackle

Free agents: Center- Evan Dietrich-Smith or Brian DeLaPuente

                     DT - Clinton McDonald

CB Walter Thurmond and re-sign Blackmon

Guard- Asamoah (if not too expensive)

Michael Johnson - if he doesn't break the bank.

This scenerio addresses all the Jags major needs (especially q.b. and pass rusher) and is not totally unreasonable. Dee Ford may be

gone and Michael Johnson not within their price range, but I'd like their roster if this happens.

Here is my latest idea, and it also involves trading back.

Minnesota is desperate for a QB. I think they take no chances and will want to jump over Cleveland and Oakland to grab a QB of their choice after Bortles goes #1 to Houston. They could even trade up with St. Louis to get ahead of the Jags, but for the sake of the trade scenario we will say they give us their 2nd round pick to move up from #8 to #3. Atlanta also trades up to get Clowney.

1. HOU - QB B. Bortles

2. ATL - DE J. Clowney (from STL)

3. MIN - QB T. Bridgewater (from JAC)

4. CLE - QB J. Manziel

5. OAK - OT G. Robinson

6. STL - OT J. Matthews (from ATL)

7. TAM - OLB K. Mack

8. JAC - WR S. Watkins (from MIN) -explosive, star player we need badly, will make whatever QB look good

9. BUF - OT T. Lewan

10. DET - CB D. Dennard

39. JAC - QB D. Carr (pair him with Watkins for some big plays, no pressure to start day 1)

40. JAC - OC T. Swanson (starter day 1)

Rnd 3 - RB L. Seastrunk (starter day 1)

Free Agency - DE Michael Bennett

The rest of the draft would hopefully land some quality depth at CB, LB and DL.
Sure is gonna suck watching Bridgewater lead the vikes to the playoffs with our pick.

If they make the playoffs, I doubt it will be mostly due to stellar play from Bridgewater.

Most likely, they have the weapons in place, Adrian Peterson in his prime

Vikings are 10-6 possible 11-5 with Bridgewater at qb
I'd be willing to bet if Henne even played all year with a healthy WR corps of Watkins + Blackmon + Shorts, his stats would be comparable, if not better than Teddy's in Minnesota.

Exactly. Bridgewater would definitely help them, but so would a lot of other decent QB's that don't suck. It would be Peterson and the rest of the roster that would be the biggest factors.

I think the Seahawks will lock up Bennett. And I don't really envision Watkins going past the Raiders (not saying they don't need a LT).
Quote:I think the Seahawks will lock up Bennett. And I don't really envision Watkins going past the Raiders (not saying they don't need a LT).
OT probably more of a need than WR for Raiders, and Robinson higher than Watkins in most rankings I have seen. OT a premium position. That was my thinking there. Tampa might grab Watkins in that scenario, but I think Mack is going to be ranked in the top 5 when the draft comes.

You may be right on Bennett after reading more about him. There are a lot of other pretty good DE's who are UFA's, and we could possibly land one of them though.

I like a lot of those picks. Not bad at all, but I would rather have OC Travis Swanson or WR Allen Robinson with that round 2 pick. Either an instant starter from day one (counting on Blackmon not being around), as opposed to Easley being a back up. I don't see him worthy of #39 regardless.

I would probably start Easley on the PUP and then ease him into the lineup. I think he is going to be a stud if he can stay healthy. I would've went center earlier but I wasn't sure how well it would work with a rookie center, rookie QB, and rookie RB all starting.

That would be a lot of rookies at key positions on offense, but we are rebuilding big time and expectations are still pretty low for this year. O-line might be pretty good with: LT Joeckel LG Beadles OC Swanson RG Nwaneri RT Pasztor

I definitely wouldn't be upset if we rolled out that Oline.
Top 5 Picks:

HOU- QB Blake Bortles

STL- OT Robinson

JAC- QB Teddy Bridgewater

ATL (TRADE) - DE Clowney

OAK- DE Mack

Jaguars 2nd Rd Pick

DE/OLB Jeremiah Attaochu (GT)

Jaguars 3rd RD pick:

DE Aaron Lynch (USF) or DE Jame Gayle (VT)

I am assuming the Jags are going to draft a lot at one side of the field again. This year My Guess is the front 7. Get an LEO Guy in Attaochu and LDE in Lynch or Gayle. I think we will probably get another LB later in the draft (5-7) as well as a DT for depth. Maybe use the Middle rounds for a guard or 2.

We have a lot of holes to fill, especially depth! So I think I will be excited at whoever we draft in each round.

mock 7.0

1. Houston Texans (2-14) - Blake Bortles QB

I am differing back to Bortles here. He did what he had too at the combine. The Texans owner laughed at Manziel’s threat to the Texans organization, so I don’t believe Manziel is their guy. Bridgewater or Bortles here.

2. St. Louis Rams
(Skins 3-13) - Greg Robinson OT

Im not sure that the Falcons will try to bite on a trade at #2. I think the Rams may have lost some leverage with the QB's of this years class dropping in stock. I think the Falcons would rather sit tight and watch Clowney fall to 3. Rams, with no viable offers take Robinson.

3. *TRADE* Atlanta Falcons

(4-12) - Jadeveon Clowney DE

Atlanta Falcons trade 1st Round, 2nd Round, 4th Round and 2015 2nd Round to Jaguars for Jaguars 1st Round selection. Jags stock pile picks including a high selection in next years draft.

4. Cleveland Browns (4-12) - Teddy Bridgewater QB

Browns are reportedly in love with Carr, but I assume thats their option if Bridgewater is gone. Teddy will have a warm welcome to the defenses of the Steelers, Bengals, and Ravens. Good luck with that.

5. Oakland Raiders (4-12) - Johnny Manziel QB

I have been mocking Watkins to the Raiders, but I definitely don't see them passing up on Johnny. Johnny will provide a much needed spark to that franchise.

6. Jacksonville Jaguars
(4-12) - Khalil Mack DE

Why take a QB now? We still have a couple years till we can be a playoff team. Khalil Mack is a straight up difference maker. I haven't been a fan until recently. I've been watching some cut-ups on him, and wow he makes an impact on almost every single play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb1nhZliuqc . My favorite clip of him. Seriously made non-stop plays in that game. Why take a chance with Clowney when you know you'll get elite production out of Mack? He'll brake the defensive sacks record for a rookie, I'm certain of it. I've been on the Bridgewater train for a while now. But, I honestly can't pin point a game where he has just been lights out (other than the infamous Orangebowl Game).

7. Tampa Bay Buccs (4-12) - Jake Matthews OT
