When you call a quarterback with mediocre stats "above average" and it's seen as an insult, I think that's a bit much.

Quote:If Andrew Luck was the starting QB of the Bengals instead of Andy Dalton,  with a full off-season of being with the team,  I would have make the Bengals the favorites to WIN the Super Bowl.

I agree with this post.
Quote:That is odd. Brady seems to be doing just fine with WR's I had never heard of until this year.

Uhh... Brady was terrible (in Brady standards) at the beginning of the year when he was without Amendola & Gronk.

His team has gotten healthy and Brady has become Brady again. Weird, huh?
I have been saying this for a while.  i don't think he is terrible, but I do think it has been a bit premature for everyone to practically give him a bust in Canton.  When we play Manning or Brady I literally feel that they are going to be able to score at will and the Jags need to play perfectly to keep up with them. I don't feel that way about Luck, at least not yet.  He reminds me of a really good QB, but not one that can't be beaten.  I think of him along the lines of Ben Roth...rothles....rothelsburg.....Pittsburgh's guy.  Good enough to win, but not someone that scares me each time he has the ball.  Maybe things will change in the coming years, but those are pretty big shoes to fill.

Ben won two Super Bowls. He has big time plays with his ability to move around outside the pocket and make nice plays down the field. I think when it is playoff time teams fear him and what he's capable of. If Andrew Luck turns out to the be that guy I am sure the Colts franchise will be grateful..
Wow...it's official, this MB has no ability whatsoever at evaluating talent.

Everyone is saying that he's good, but no one is saying how he's good.

He showed a lot of promise last year. What has he done since?

What is he doing in Indy that Henne isn't doing here? And, we all know how bad Henne has been. They can't use the talent excuse because our roster is worse. Even last year, if he didn't throw so many times, his stats wouldn't have been that great. His fundamentals are great, but he isn't performing to the standard people are throwing around here.

As for the record excuse, they're 8-4 because they're playing in the worst division in football. They play two teams that will likely have a top-5 pick and one that may break the top-10.

They showed a stat this morning of how Luck has performed with Reggie Wayne and without.  I don't remember the exact numbers but there was a considerable difference.  He was playing like a top QB prior to Wayne's injury then has fallen off after that.

Luck's stats look way better than his play today. He was pretty awful in the first half.

Colts have so many holes and no 1st round pick. Good for the rest of AFC south

Lol.

Luck balled out today. Trying to use today as a reason he's "just above average" is only something you would do.

The first half was sluggish yes and accompanied with DHB dropping balls like he always does.

326 yards, 4 touchdowns, 0 INTs, 32 rushing yards. Oh, and against one of the best defenses on the road.
I'm with TMD on this one.  Luck is missing any type of weapon on offense and it shows.  Losing Reggie Wayne was a tough one, Reggie is one of the better and most consistent receivers of our generation.  I hope he comes back and plays at least one more year.  I want the Jaguars to compete with the best and a healthy Reggie Wayne is right up there.

Yup.

I agree with this also.

What were his stats when the Bengals were up 21 in the 3rd?
above average ..but greatly overrated!!

Congrats to Peyton Manning on securing another playoff berth for the Colts!

Oh. I forgot there was only 2 quarters in a football game.

If you're trying to go with the "Colts got garbage points" argument, you're going to lose this battle, buddy. The last Colts drive you can make a case for, the rest you can not. Bengals were still playing their same defense they were playing in the first half.
You don't score points in a half of football in this era you are going to lose a lot of games and that's on the qb unless players around him were turning it over. Your D isn't good enough to cover up for a dreadful 2 1/2 quartets by your O

False.

Drops & play calling.

Luck played one of his better games today IMO, you're right about the defense though. They aren't good enough.

But what if Peyton Manning was with the Bengals?

Doesn't everyone wish to have Manning. You get a qb like him and you ride him til he retires...
