Quote:You can do whatever you like. If it makes you feel better, go nuts. Yell at the wall for all I care. When you're done and you stop to think about what the options truly are, you'll realize there are none. These are our guys for at least 3 years.
I really hope not! That would be a tragic mistake for the Jags. This is almost a touch football league. Defensive head coaches are a dying breed. QBs and Offensive Head coaches are the new trend. If you are a defensive Head Coach you need a GREAT offensive coordinator
Quote:I respect your opinion, but let me ask you this. We played Alabama and wiped them 54-3. Would you say that Coach Sabin had [BAD WORD REMOVED] poor planning after winning what looks to be 3 BCS Championships in a row and is by far the best coach in college football? Talent exceeds planning everyday of the week. This scenario may be addressed by college to NFL, but that's our talent level compared to most other NFL teams, especially SF.
Talent and coaching go hand in hand. However, New Orleans should be proving my point for me. While their coach was suspended, they were awful (going from 13 wins the previous year to 7) This year they're 6-1 so far. Talent only goes so far without a good coach, and vice versa.

I wouldn't say it's guaranteed that every coordinator and position coach is safe, but the head guys like Caldwell and Bradley are 100% locked in for 3 years. Khan must realize that being the team that cleans house every year will make it impossible to find any talent. He's not going to fall into that trap.

Ok, I'll give you that. The can go hand in hand. But when you have no talent, coaching can only do so much. Thus my example. Yours of New Orleans is valid to an extent. You must remember that your talking about an experienced Head Coach with a superbowl title and a proven staff. Ours are brand new together and from college ranks. We are rookies in the broad scope.
I'd like them to bring in someone who has been there and done that.. enough with the Youth movement we need some stability.

I'm not calling for Bradley's job, but we obviously need new coordinators

you have not heard that Jedd Fisch is an offensive genius???

I agree our talent level is lacking. But I don't truly believe we are 32 pt deficit- bad based on talent level alone

This is news to me

You didn't know Dead Fish was a jeanyus?

There were no fans crying when Fisch left the U......he is not an NFL quality OC!

I can concur to this. I would not be sad to see some of our coordinators go. Normally, you would hate that because you would implementing somewhat of a new system, so the existing players would have to relearn the system. But we shouldn't keep rolling over new personnel going forward, so I could see some get the can. I just don't know who we would replace them with right now. I don't like bringing college ranked coordinators because that game is totally different to NFL. We need proven NFL coordinators

We will just have to see what the offseason brings.
We could try to steal away some position coaches from other teams by offering coordinator jobs

Seriously guys...go back an look at all of the Jaguars drafts from like 2005 til now. Every single one is completely deplorable. 2008 and 2009 have zero players left from them. 2010 has only Alualu. 2011 has Blaine, Rackley, Prosinski (LOL at those 3) and Shorts. You can't go 7-8 draft and have a total of single digit starting caliber players. We could have friggin Lombardi himself coaching our team and we would be vying for 0-16.
Which begs the question.... why do we still have the same scouts after all these years? I remember reading that Caldwell is keeping the previous regime's scouts intact for the 2013 draft. I wonder if he got any of his own guys or if we're still relying on scouts who have contributed to horrible drafts year after year.

We've brought in unproven guys hoping to land the next Coughlin and it's bitten us in the behind. Del Rio, Mularkey, Koetter, and they've stocked the staff with cronies who they thought would adopt their philosophy. The only one who was worth a crap was Mike Smith and he should have replaced Del Rio as head coach.
Gus Bradley assembled his own staff, he has to live with it. Del Rio was quick to fire an assistant to cool his own seat and it got to the point where quality coaches didn't want to work for Del Rio because of it. So he ended up getting whoever drew the short straw, so to speak. And us fans must STAND UNITED ! !

Don't forget Caldwell, this is his roster on defense and it's worse then anything I've ever seen. Some of this is on Bradley they're not ready to play and some of it is on Caldwell he went from bad to worse.
why did we get Roy Miller in free agency? he is completely worthless. like more worthless than Alualu.
What concerns me most is seeing players not only getting dominated physically, but how ridiculous they look when failing to shed blocks and make basic plays like tackling.
No one players other than Mojo, Shorts, and Blackmon are showing any ability to play at a high level. I will say this substitution O-line is somehow playing better as a unit than the starters.
Alualu is pathetic. Marcedes Lewis is grossly over-payed. Too many bums on this roster. Would have rather cut/traded Alualu and Lewis in favor of keeping Greg Jones.
I hear him on the post game show, "We missed some tackles, if that means more tackling drills in practice that's what we'll do"
Are you serious GUS? This is the freaking NFL you think these guys don't know "how" to tackle? Crap like this tells me this guy is so far in over his head. Combine that with the complete BONEHEADED play calling we've seen ALL SEASON long, give me a break.
Tell me this is the right direction again? Like I said a different direction isn't always the "right" direction.
This regime just might be worse then the last two combined. Whatever, it's the right direction, pfff gimme a break.
A player split out wide with no one covering them and an entire secondary realizing it before the play (look at them all wave over in his direction) and not having a clue what to do in that situation. Its stuff like that which makes me think the players aren't coached well enough to succeed.
