I'm not entirely comfortable calling for the firing of a HC with only a half season and an organization in the gutter to work with, but I would like to see him coaching with a little more fire. He needs to get nasty.
Quote:That's fine if your taking the wait and see approach, I'm just tired of being told this is the right direction before the season even started.
Quote:If Gus Bradley was on any other team, this board would be talking about how bad he sucks.
Quote:I understand how you are feeling, but do you really think it would help anything if the coach came out and said "This team sucks...I've never worked with a worse group of players before in my life and if it were possible, I would fire every last one of them before the plane ride home and wouldn't even let them ride with us back to Jacksonville!"
Do you think that they would start playing any better after that?
Quote:They wouldn't play any worse
Quote:What should they say? Everyone is taking a wait and see approach. Some are actually waiting until the gm and hc get a few years. You don't build a winner overnight unless you get lucky (qb).
Quote:Yeah they would.
Quote:I think it is fair to criticize Bradley.Agreed Smith sucked but the general lack of discipline, preparedness, game planning, player development, etc is all on the coaches. There is no way they have shown to be any better than Mularkey and his staff at this point. I most definitely don't believe they are a Super Bowl caliber staff.
But I also have to give most of the blame to that joke of GM we had the past 4 seasons. That guy should never be able to work in the NFL again. He personally assembled the worst team in the history of the NFL.
Thank you Gene Smith. I really appreciate what you left us.

Quote:No not everyone is saying that before this week it was the right direction anyone that objected was told otherwise
Quote:Fair point.Jus sayin.
Quote:It's been 8 games! 8 games on a roster depleted of talent and you're already evaluating if they are a Lombardi-worthy staff? Unreal. Unreal. You're making excuses for them. I have coached 8 year olds to know their assignments and to not commit numerous stupid penalties. Is it really too much to ask that of paid NFL professionals? The lack of talent is one thing. I expect our team to get beat way more than they'll win since they have no talent. But to continually look clueless, see very little player development, to look clue less on defense because you aren't ready for the 49ers. All of that stuff is on Bradley and his staff. That's my point.
No one here knows what goes into the game planning. The coaches can game plan and teach you until they are blue in the face but once these rookies get out there it's a whole different ordeal. Especially when it's in London.
