Quote:Odds our that our trade partner would be a contender, so you are looking at a 20-32 pick anyway. Not worth it when you will need to find another WR anyway. That would depend on who the "contender" is.
Atlanta, for instance.
Of course I'd want a trade structured in such a way that if it isn't at least a top 12 pick I'd get more and more, too.

Why would you even do that? You'll never replace the caliber of WR Blackmon is if you deal him. He's top 5 in the NFL at his position type good. He is a legit threat to score from anywhere on the field at any given time. He's proven this in the Houston and St Louis games.
Quote:The problem isn't talent, the problem is risk. I'd trade him for a high first in this coming draft. It could mean the difference between getting a Teddy Bridgewater or settling for someone.
No way. If you want the 1st overall pick, then simply play Gabbert so you lose the games, don't get rid of the lone future decade long NFL star receiver on your team, so you can then overpay to trade up for Bridgewater, thats stupid.

I also think Mike Evans can be just as good or better and he is younger with no trouble history.

Ah, I see.....we can now conclude that you have no idea what you are watching and end this convo.

Honestly, do you even know who Mike Evans is?

Honestly I do. And if you -honestly- believe that he is anywhere near the kind of polished all around WR that Justin Blackmon is, then I'll throw you into the same lot I just threw the other guy. You've got to be kidding me.
Mike Evans is huge and has the go up and get the ball skills, but he's not going to be Justin Blackmon or anything close, in this league.
That said, I'd love to see Evans paired up with Blackmon. He'd be a nice compliment to the corps. We don't have that "big" WR on the roster, unless you count that recent Williams add or Burton.

I've watched a ton of college football this year. The above would clearly apply to you based on your input here and in the QB threads on the other forum. You just said that you think Mike Evans could be better than Blackmon.... you don't understand what you are watching.

Mike Evans is a stud. I would take that dude in heart beat.

I would too. A duo of he & Blackmon would be hard to stop. Evans would provide the big WR that we lack.
But I just think anyone saying that he will be better than Blackmon as a pro is ridiculous. I see Evans as essentially Vincent Jackson ceiling. They are similar players. Is that very good? You bet. But its not better than Blackmon.

We have waited years to find a stud receiver and now we are on the verge of finally pairing a stud receiver with a stub QB (Bridgewater) and people would give that away?
For a chance at Mike Evans?
Mike Evans: Big body but is easily pushed around and moved by CBs when hit making a catch. Solid hands but VERY ugly route running after a usually good initial step on the LOS. He runs exrememly ugly and i see alot of knee/ankle injuries in the pros. Not good in space (awarness issue) but will try to fight through defenders in traffic. Not really athletic and takes alot of advantage of Johnny Football running around till coverage breaks down.
He is the WR version of Manziel. Exciting to watch and he runs around alot but he will be battered at the NFL level. He certainly wont be running past CBs on constant fly routes in the NFL and wont have a qb that consistently gets him 5-6 seconds to get open.

Pretty much.
I really have no idea how in the world these people can come up with the idea that Evans has any chance of being even close to the WR that Blackmon is.
People really don't understand what they are watching.....
Blackmon is a flat out stud, special player along the likes of Freddy T compared to his position.

You implied it with "or better". Even including "or better" is ridiculous if you have watched the 2 for any length of time.
Blackmon is a polished, huge playmaking stud, who can score from any point on that field once he gets the ball in his hands. He's practically uncoverable, and has just as good of hands as Evans. Evans lacks the fluidity that Blackmon has. That will show up in the pro's.
Not saying Evans will be a bad pro, just nowhere near as good as Blackmon. Different WR's. too.

If they traded Blackmon, I would be highly upset.
