Quote:[Image: speechless-smiley-040.gif]  I would put Brandon Marshall over Blackmon right now and Mia. got 2 3rd round picks for Marshall and he wasn't one mistake away from a year suspension

Marshall is also almost 30.

Blackmon is what? 22? 23??
Quote:More like the opposite. You shouldn't even be offering opinions here if you believe what you are saying. You don't trade Blackmon away for a single top 10 pick.
Why not?  You do it all the time.  I actually believe the team would take a top 10 pick if offered for Justin Blackmon.  I'm smart enough to know it won't happen.  Do you understand the difference?  If you're as smart as you tell everyone you are, then you would grasp the point, and you'd agree.

Quote:CSIII is replaceable. Mike Brown had 120 yards on the other side of Blackmon last game. Thats the point - Blackmon is the lynch pin here. He helps make that other tandem receiver go.

If another team offered the Jags a top 45 pick for CS3 I'd drive him to that teams town myself.

LOL...Yes all players are replaceable but let's not forget that CSIII almost was our first One Thousand yard receiver since J-Smooth.

If it wasn't for him being concussed, he would've made it to that mark...

NH3...
Unless we're getting 2 1's and 3 2nds and maybe a couple 3rds then I'd sure hope not.. he good Smile

No you don't

You really have no idea of the value of this player do you?

As said before Blackmon not only is quickly proving to be the real deal at WR, and practically uncoverable - a guy who is a legit threat to score every time he gets the ball, at any point on the field,...but he also has that quality that so few have - he helps make the players around him better.

With Blackmon on the other side taking the defensive focus - Shorts and Mike freaking Brown are able to have 100 yard games with Henne & Gabbert throwing the ball for Gods sake...When Blackmon is out, It really doesn't matter what WR are in there, they don't perform the same.

Plus, Blackmon is also valuable to this franchise in another way as he's the first player since MoJo that actually has marketability. This player gives the Jags an identity -  Shorts aint doing that, nor are any other Jags WR doing that. The likelyhood of getting another WR with a pick obtained from any Blackmon trade is also very unlikely to duplicate that....

You are simply wrong here.

Say what, now?   Ace has a concussion, Shorts can barely lift his arm over his head, and JB is playing through a hammy and a groin strain.

Ace has been cleared to play and has worked out fully today. CSIII played w/his injury by simply tolerating the pain. B14CKMON also played through the pain and he played well also.

ALL receivers are expected to play on gameday...

Shorts had 143 yds receiving in week 3.

And don't say "garbage time" - that's where Brown got half of his too.

Blackmon is good and helps the other side - but you are de-valuing Shorts to suit your agenda.  Not to mention assuming teams want to give away the farm for an injured player.

That doesn't mean they are "healthy."

Blackmon is good and helps the other side - but you are writing off Shorts to suit your pathetic agenda.

You know its garbage time as thats why you pre-emptively mentioned it.  Seattle emptied some of their bench by the late 3rd Q into the 4th. What did Shorts do in the first half when it was somewhat still a game??

Blackmon is more than just good, and Shorts is merely a cog that isn't good enough to play at a high level when it counts unless he has a guy like Blackmon on the other side.

No shame in that. Lots of WR are in the NFL that are like that. Only a select few are of Blackmon's ability though.

Quote:That doesn't mean they are "healthy."
According to the injury report they are. Also few players remain 100% throughout the season but the still play at a high level...

NH3...
No. We are not trading Justin Blackmon nor should we consider it. PFT rumors are idiotic.

Quote:Yes.

2.1 yards of net punting average separates Anger from the 21st-ranked punter in the league. Whoooopeeee.
Atleast we didnt draft that Wilson guy...
Quote:I totally disagree.

Blackmon is a stud playmaker that also is the level of player that helps make those around him better. i.e. Shorts/ or whomever on the other side., because he draws that much attention of the defense.

These kind of players don't grow on trees.

If you trade anyone (WR), its C3PO, as he CAN be replaced and his numbers are hollow - but are good enough to possibly sucker some other team into overpaying.
I have to agree with this stance.

This is just silly talk that happens when a team is 0-7 IMO...Of course if someone offered a Top 10 pick we would listen but that's not going to happen - sounds like drivel from a bored sports writer that needs a story for the day.. nothing more...

Would be great to trade any/all of these players - Lewis, Babin, Poz, MJD.  None of them are going to be on the roster past 2014 anyway..

You are probably right - but I would be sad to lose Poz and/or MJD - would be great if we could get something for Babin or Lewis

Mincey needs to go also

Again - you are probably right - I love him as a person though  - he is so good to the fans
I don't get the logic behind anyone wanting to trade away Blackmon, it's not like WR with his skill set are easy to find. You don't trade away TOP players at PREMIUM positions especially when they're YOUNG. That's what we are looking for young, top tier talent and premium positions.

We have been looking for a good receiver forever. Now that it looks like we might have one, we are going to trade him? I don't believe that.
