You haven't been paying attention if you thought we'd be good this year. Dave and Gus have gutted the roster and are starting from scratch. It's a process and hopefully the process works this tme.

I'm guessing Bradley gets a pass on this season no matter how bad it gets in the end.

 

Though it does beg the question of how Mularkey can lose his job with a two win team and Bradley might keep his job with an even worse team.  What kind of message does it sent to be that inconsistent in your decision making?  I guess its the same throughout the NFL, though. Bradley is Caldwell's guy...Mularkey was not.  Not that I like Mularkey, but it takes a special brand of incompetence to put together a team that looks like this year's...

Gus and Dave own whatever success or failure they achieve.  This is their team.  I saw some good things today.  The OL was better and Shorts III went against Pro Bowl corners and had a big day.  Sure, some of it was in garbage time.  Poz had a big game and Cyprian made some plays.  Slightly better than last week.  Isn't that the goal?

Feels like a circle we are going to keep repeating. Let's clear the air, NO ONE is denying Gene Smith failed in every way possible now.

 

He Failed to build the roster that could win,

 

He Failed to draft the right QB and put him in a situation that he could succeed

 

He Failed in selecting a Coach to turn his roster around

 

That said, it doesn't mean everything Gene Smith did or everyone he brought in was a failure, when the NEW Regime took over it was THEIR responsibility to assess this roster, decide who to keep, who to let walk, and who to replace them with.

 

When they let player walk that started for us last year, the line was "We we're 2-14 they can't be that good anyways". So be it new regime their roster to build, at that point David Caldwell is taking possession and responsibility for this roster. Over the ENTIRE off-season show me a position we upgraded, how are we not WORSE now then before?

 

Is it our philosophy to get worse before getting better?

 

This roster, is on Dave, it's his roster, it's ok for him to have a bad year in year one. But don't make excuses when we look worse then before. Dave will be given a few years to turn it around, but I'm not encouraged by what I've seen so far, I don't know how anyone could be.

So, did you think we could gut it and sign all the players we wanted POOF just like that.  Come on Chief I'm just as upset about this team as you are but you've been doing this a long time.  You know it's going to take a lot of time to get this team from where it was at the end of Gene's era. 

 

He took a freaking punter for goodness sake over Russell Wilson!!!  Again a punter in the third round.

That was the tipping point for me, I just SMH when I think about that.

dont tell that to chief. remember his hatefullness to anyone who ever touched gene? and the years he gave him. he is already calling for this managements head, when we are in a rebuild after 3 games. he is fake, he is full of crap and he is a hypocrite. 

He was the best punter in a long time. And Wilson was an uncertainty. And there is no fact with our line we would of been worlds better.


I hated the punter idea. However the franchise does not start true rebuild until we have a QB.

How funny! Gus and Dave have determined that every one of those players you mentioned were worthy of keeping??? Gus and Dave KEPT those players!!!! Can you possibly understand how ignorant that is? what the hell do you want? 53 brand new pro bowlers ready to come day 1? What did you expect? You are a business man, use your brain. THIS WAS GOING TO BE A BAD YEAR Look at last year. We are going to have to suffer. I dont want to call you out, but you are being a hypocrite. For all the time you gave gene, you should be as patient as Caldwell.
