Quote:I am not excusing Hillary for her illegal emails. do you know any Democrats who condoned her for using a private server and deleting them?

I said multiple times I believe American history textbooks that are obviously nonpartisan.and 100% nonfiction. To say I just believe a bunch of lies by other Democrats is telling a lie yourself.
1. Yes. Many. Do you know how many times I've heard a Hillary support express that they're sick of hearing about emails then, in the same sentence, admit that they didn't even look into them?

2. History is written by the victors. I'll leave you to think about that.
Quote:The textbooks say WWII is what boosted the economy, which is fact.

Not by itself. The books say economical improvement began slowly years earlier, then sped up during the war. I will stop arguing about that because nobody on this forum read the same books.

The books that you read are wrong.  As I mentioned before, why not look at what the New Deal was all about and research further by looking at the sources in the footnotes?  The economy didn't turn around until the war effort began.

This is not 1941, so that would just be for informational purposes only. I can read about it later. Right now my main focus is what will happen in four days.

No, the books we all read say that WWII is what dragged America out of the Great Depression, not the unusustainable, unconstitutional New Deal programs. FDR's pet projects were great for a few years, but there was no way to maintain the amount of resources it was taking to keep them going. America's entry into the war allowed it to utilize its industrial machine, unmatched in the rest of the Western world, to puke out aircraft, guns, bombs, rockets and just about anything else the Allies needed to arm themselves. We effectively rebuilt ourselves on the backs of the rest of the Allies. Without WWII, America's economy becomes insolvent, inflation explodes, our buying power on the world stage tanks and we're just this side of a third-world country going into the 1950's.

America's economy recovered because of WWII, not because of economic activity in the years prior to it.
Quote:I wouldn't say that. This poll is rather intriguing because from what I've seen, this board tends to be overly liberal.

This is satire right? This board leans so far to the right I needed to put a 2 x 4 under my monitor to keep the screen level.
Enjoying this discussion on FDR. Would highly recommend visiting the FAR Memorial in DC if you get the opportunity. You walk through all four terms of his presidency and get to learn a lot about the programs and pet projects he helped build.
Quote:You are doing the same thing everyone else is: choosing not to believe anything I say about my decision to vote for Hillary Clinton or the being a Democrat. Every Republican on this MB wants to believe all Democrats are stupid liars.

No, you choose to believe only the things you want to believe. You're so far into your own beliefs that you can't even accept undistributed facts that oppose them. You really shouldn't vote.

Quote:This board is overly conservative.

This board is only "overly conservative" because Trump is leading in this poll. No one said that until this poll came out. I got the  impression that most people were socially liberal and fiscally conservative (from what I could tell), lining up more with Libertarian policies.

Maybe Trump, as unbelievable as it may be, is a better candidate than a traitorous liar only in it to her own advancement.
This board contains a basket of deplorables.

Your are out of your mind.

No one had to say it because it's obvious. It's the nature of the location of the team. It's a conservative area so it stands to reason it's tilted towards a conservative user base.

You'd think this city would be a shining example of the power of conservatism.

I have been there twice. It has a lot of quotes about hating war, but I can't remember any of them.

Well, I do remember this one: "The only thing to fear is fear itself."

I choose to believe the truth that political party affiliation has nothing to do with whether you are smart or stupid, as most people on this forum suggest.

I understand but don't agree.

That suggests that Jacksonville is more likely to vote Democrat based on previous trends. Maybe new evidence counters this claim, but I also believe that there are a bunch of people from out-of-State that voted in this poll. It also doesn't change that there doesn't seem to be a large socially conservative base on this board. I think most people line up middle-of-the-road or libertarian. I know Romney pulled Duval in 2012, but it seems Jacksonville saw more Democrat turnout that I believe you think there is.

Besides, if this poll is reflective of Jacksonville in general, I'd say Hillary is in trouble.

That says that Jacksonville is only the 5th largest conservative base in Florida.

As much as we all bicker back and forth, it's nice to know that there are some things we can all agree on.

..like Jill Stein sucks.
Hi fellow Americans! It is Tuesday, November 8, 2016 - the date that thousands of elections all over the country will take place with candidates from top to bottom and a wide variety of issues on voter ballots. It is extremely important for all registered voters who have not already voted early or absentee to vote today - and not just for president/vice president. There also are U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, FL state races, and county/local offices, plus state amendments and other issues to decide our future where we live.

All Election Day related information belongs here. Try to avoid derailing it with topics we already have other threads for. No matter where you live and are registered to vote, your vote will count and other posters will be interested.

Remember you can only vote once. Depending on your state, bring your photo ID with you. Hours vary, but in Florida they are 7:00 - 7:00. Happy voting and may the best candidates win!

With who your presidential candidates are, all I'll say is good luck!

Happy voting.

We're (America) gonna lose
Make America great again everyone. Vote for trump.
