you really want to come into 'the office' to find out your cut. I guess I would have appreciated a call, but really a text is better than driving in just for that.

 He said he got a text. He didn't say it informed him of him being cut. His agent told him he was cut.

And?  Since he 'knew something was up' Caldwell obviously didn't cut him with a text.

Would have been nice to see him retire having played his whole career as a Jaguar.

Makes sense now. I don't know why he would be upset though. It's business at that point. He's old as hell and over the hill. ASJ is younger, faster and still has time to develop into a pass catching threat. That's just the nature of all sports really. Probably still has a job if he shuts up and shows up. After how Odrick, Thomas & Albert were handled last year during the off season the guys in that locker room should know better.

I'd have tried offer him a chance to stay here on the cheap at least. Locker room won't like the move at all but I understand it.

You know for sure Coughlin doesn’t play that. Not from a so called leader of the team. He’d probably still be employed if he went about business as usual.

Where does it say he cut him via text? It said he texted him and his AGENT broke the news to him.

How do you know he was "cut" via text, Lewis stated Caldwell texted him and he also had a missed call from his agent. He never said David cut him via text, that's just speculation on your part

Decent blocker, cheap and a vet leader. Not sure this move was really necessary but if he was really pissed at not getting as much as ASJ then its understandable. Although I have a hard time believing that Lewis would really get upset about it.

After hearing this and the quote from Hurns is sounds like both are more upset at the timing than anything. Their options are far more limited now that the first couple waves of FA have happened and teams have filled holes. The team should have done good by them and released them a couple weeks ago.
