We tried that with Coughlin. It didn't work out. So let's double down? Holy [BLEEP] man. This is a leaky theory.
If he stays. Wash goes. He threw Hackett under the bus last year. It's Wash's turn to be a wickerman. Still doesn't answer for the team's leauge leading penalty records from last year and this year.
It certainly doesn't answer all of the continued offensive woes along the offensive line neither. If Marrone and Caldwell are retained it's because Khan and Mini Khan are dick heads.
That simple. They're too prideful to admit they made a mistake extending a three headed monster that hood winked them all during an easy schedule in 2017 thanks to a plethora of injury riddled teams.
They would rather add another steaming pile of [BLEEP] onto Marrone's bologna sandwich philosophy for 2020 because they would rather not pay two coaching staff's over the next two years.
He's fixing to alienate the [BLEEP] out of this fanbase. It seems deliberate at this point. So [BLEEP] him and [BLEEP] his son. Coughlin was the sacrificial lamb. He gets to be the scapegoat. Even if it's completely illogical.

The same way most of us feel.

I think the same thing. Then I remember this is the same owner and gm who sat through how many seasons with Gus Bradley at the helm.

1. Saves the horrible coaching staff.
2. Hurts draft order.
3. Builds false hope that the team isn't that bad.
If one game saves the coaching staff after a warning last season was followed by another bad season, then Khan it's not a man of his word.
If some don't think a spot of two matters then why is it so expensive to move up a spot of two?
If the team isn't that bad then the coaching staff is HORRIBLE.
You win by winning, it's that simple. The draft is a crap shoot.
No, it's not. You win by winning important games. Not by winning meaningless games that only hurt your draft position and possibly save the job of your crappy head coach and GM.

They lose when we want them to win and win when it hurts us in the long run. Had we have lost, we'd be picking #5, but by winning, we now pick #9. That means we probably miss out on Derrick Brown and we're most likely stuck with Marrone and Caldwell. It's a sad day for Jacksonville fans. Every time it looks like there is a ray of sunshine about to pop out, someone closes the window and blinds and we're left in total darkness. In all seriousness, if Marrone and the coaching staff isn't fired, I gotta take a year off from this team. I've been following this team since the day it was announced we were getting a team and for the last 15 years or so it has been one disappointment after another. I take football way too seriously. I know that, but it's an addiction. I just can't sit through another season terrible coaching, sloppy play and excessive, drive killing penalties, because the coaches can't do their jobs.

If it doesn't bother you to keep going through the same old crap season after season, more power to you, but I've had enough. Apparently, you're a glutton for punishment or a masochist.
I'm not concerned about the draft position because if our GM cant find a great player at 9 we have the wrong GM. I just hope this win didnt save Dave and Doug their job

The thing I'm worried about is finding a great player who can actually help fix our major problem areas. If we don't fix the run defense, we'll be awful next season as well and if we don't fix the O-Line, what's the sense of finding a QB of the future if we can't run block or pass protect?
Why is this clown still our coach? Other owners are makijg moves...

Because apparently the owner is a bigger clown than the HC.

There are a number of guys in this draft that can help fix both

Our team is always the team that's too bad to make the playoffs, but win just enough to stay out of the Top pick.
why would you keep an idiot hc that does not know how to coach, does not know how to adjust and make gametime decisions, and who is an expert at Oline have the worst oline in the league. This guy is truly a doofus "you know" and i hope Mr Kahn does not fall for his BS anymore.

Sure, the play from our LBs is a big part our run D. Playing out of positions and taking bad angles. So first upgrade the defensive coordinator spot. There are a number of LBs in this draft that could help upgrade our LB corps. Hopefully not, but If Doug is the coach next year I think Dareus will restructure like he did last year because him and Doug are pretty close and if not draft Brown if he is there and if not look at getting Raekwon Davis is is a very good run defender as well. You act like it's impossible to fix the run D.
There are a lot of BIG fish out there with vacancies. I am guessing Shad is scared to pull the trigger due to fear of not getting a viable candidate.
I hate to say it fellas, but we are stuck with Douglas.
I'm getting that feeling he's staying too. Is it too much to hope that he is told that Wash has to go, though? Probably so, I'd imagine...
I dunno man. I don't want to give up on this team but I'm probably gonna be fairly apathetic this next season unless they surprise me. Maybe that's the way to go forward; laugh and know they're probably gonna suck, and be pleasantly surprised when - possibly - they don't. Enjoy the draft picks and hope they pan out, but don't get hopes up for that happening...
Not much else one can do as a fan of this team, unless you have season tickets to return or something.
Watch season ticket sales and renewals crater if the front office staff is retained. From what I can tell the after game payday from the club section concessions is substantial. I think however the indications are there that they, DC & DM will remain. It is too late to start searching for a quality GM and HC. Other teams in need have been looking and contacting people for weeks before the end of the regular season. Kahn would be left out of the choice pickings if he hasn't even started yet.

There are a lot of candidates that will not be available until after they are eliminated from the playoffs. No need to panic.

Yeah that brought me back down to reality this morning. Dallas, Washington and New York are more storied franchises and they play in a more interesting division.
Not sure if I would want to work for someone like Daniel Synder though. He's a bit of an ego maniac. And has historically overstepped as an owner.
Really uncomfortable feeling going into 2020. It's a little late to make a move now. The only saving grace is that we still have 12 teams to watch during the play off's with some potential hires if Khan changes his mind.
Probably won't be around here much next year if the chips fall that way. As it's already toxic enough as it is around here. Between keeping him and election year coming up?
Time to lay low for awhile.
