Ooo I forgot Dom Capers is on the staff. Yes, promote him and move to 34.

Capers can call a 43, but I don't think Marrone would blow up the defense if he's got one last shot.

Wash's 4-3 is just a 3-4 with one LB's hand on the ground. The biggest obstacle to running a 3-4 is that at the current time and assuming Dareus doesn't restructure, we have no NT, and those guys don't grow on trees.
I believe it is all about money. He will wait until next year to make all the changes for FO and HC.

A second home game in London is inevitable, probably after the new CBA rakes small markets over the coals. Season ticket prices, of course, will not go down now that you're getting six games instead of eight. The Marrone move doesn't have anything to do with it in particular--I think that's some combination of Minshew and Khan being cheap, but I still think his endgame is to put the team in London.

I agree
So both Khans are just clowns, great!

This idiot doesn't deserve an NFL franchise.

Khan: "Ok, gentlemen, what's the plan that's going to give me a reason to keep us?"

Marrone: "Simple. You pay us to work for you."

Khan: "...that's it?"

Caldwell: "Or you pay us to not work for you, and you pay someone else to work for you."

Khan: "I see...you make a compelling argument."
Just doesn't make sense. Too many holes to realistically compete for the playoffs next year, unless Gardner makes a gigantic leap.

I agree, we don't have the right kind of linemen, or linebackers really, to just flip the scheme. And no one really thinks what we were doing works.

Then go buy it from him. Oh wait, you can't? Who's the idiot again? I guess you'd be happier if Weaver sold the team to someone that promptly moved it out of Jax?
Doug and Dave are going to hold a press conference at 3pm today.

Yay more losing... probably would have hired another loser anyway
I'm gonna take time off of football and posting on the board. There's just no hope, so what's the point? Why keep watching and rooting for a team that has absolutely no accountability for repeated failures? Nothing is ever gonna change. We'll lead the league again in penalties in 2020, we'll have another losing record and basically it'll just be a repeat of 2019. I thought a change in ownership might be a good thing, but it's had the opposite effect. I wonder if the Weaver family would consider buying back the franchise? Anyway, for my own mental health, I gotta step away. I get way too invested and am constantly let down by this team and this owner who seems perfectly satisfied with the way things are. This has been the worst year of my life, both as a fan and regarding life in general and I can only take so much disappointment. There is just no way to justify keeping these failed coaches. I'll be back when things actually change and there is some hope to look forward to. In the meantime, I'm not gonna root for any other team. I'll always be a Jags fan, but it's too much heartache right now. Good luck to all of you. We've had some great conversations and arguments as well. It's been fun and it will be again......... someday when the old batteries are recharged, but right now, they are drained. Anyway, good luck guys.
Wash still stay and so will Warhop
I hope Doug and Dave have some good answers. Would love for teh journalists present to lean hard on them and make them present some semblance of a plan to improve things next season

So it was all Darth Coughlin. He controlled everything and now the staff can actually do what they want?

I just stunned at how its suddenly going to change. The Oline will block, the run game suddenly works, Washs Zone magically stops everything. Its fairytales. I hope the ST sales fall through the floor.

And guys, unless we have the #1 pick next year, we arent getting Lawrence, no matter how many draft picks we throw. What GM is going to pass him up?

This team is on a knife edge. A good draft, some smart FA additions and coaching and we could be a playoff challenger, another bad draft and guys leaving and it's full blown rebuild time.

And weve doubled down on Caldwell and Marrone.  Wallbash

You, with an argument of a 6 year old lol.

Enjoy another losing season next year, you really deserve it Wink

I get that bud. This year has been really rough personally and the Jags can be that thing that makes everything else bearable. Years like this only add to the roughness and today feels like one final dumping before the decade is out.

Screw yourself 2019

I don't think it was all Coughlin, but I'm pretty sure the toxic environment can be put on his back, because Marrone and Caldwell seem like player friendly guys. Marrone didn't coach differently this year, we got the same guy, so I don't think we'll get anything different next year either.

I'm trying to think of a positive in this, but....nothing comes to mind. I don't even trust Caldwell with TWO firsts at this point, let alone just one.

I don''t know man. It's hard. I cannot understand what basis they're grounding the decision to not blow things up on. One winning season in eight or so, seems to me, appears to be an utter failure. Minshew and Allen are the only things i'm looking forward to next year.

I'm not even getting my hopes up for Yannick coming back. Hell if I'm him I'd take my chances in free agency. There are plenty of other teams NOT doubling up on failure who'd gladly take him up on his services.
