Guys guys.. spacecoastjag knows 2 NFL scouts and knows Bortles personally. Everything we say is meaningless to someone with that much inside knowledge.
TO Leopold:

^ why must everything be in absolutes?

I haven't seen anyone say they want a different QB (well, anyone that's not trolling, that is).

Just because fans see mistakes by BB and want him to do better, does not mean they would rather have someone else.

I've never seen a QB that doesn't make mistakes, even the greatest ones.

I know a lot of Packer fans. During Favre's era, almost all of them would gripe/moan/complain when Favre made a bone headed mistake. And, he made a lot of them. He had some very costly INTs and decisions during his time.

But, you know what? Not one of those Packer fans ever wanted another QB. Favre was revered by them. That still didn't stop fans from being all upset when he threw an INT to lose an NFC Championship game. When that happened, there was some cussing and complain ing going on, for sure!

Blake's not infallible. He still.makes a lot of mistakes. But that doesn't mean we want someone else.
If Blake is going to ever actually be considered a top 10 QB, he is going to have to get his TOs under control.

There is no denying that.

Quote:I know he is responsible for a lot of went wrong today, but when I think about it, he's still one of the bright spots in this team. Unfortunately in blowouts, I think players like him push and try and make plays that aren't there.

That said, the most recent example I can point to is Eli Manning. He was and still is sometimes a turnover machine but with right coaching and talent on defense, which this team has the latter but not the former, he put it all together for two rings.

At this point, I would just be grateful with some playoff runs and a shot at the AFC championship game, let alone a super bowl.

Basically, I don't think we should be too hard on Bortles today. He's working with a drunken orangutan on the sidelines.
So how do you know that the guy on the sideline isn't working with a drunken orangutan behind center? My observation is that Bortles hasn't had a winning season as a NFL quarterback in his entire career!
