The titans blow right now. They have a bottom barrel backup qb starting and they'll be in our house. I haven't been this confident in a jags beat down in years.

I'm more than happy to let Henry have 100 yards and 1 TD. But if he goes off for 200 YDS and 2 TDs, that could be a problem.
Last game we played, he ripped off 100 Yards in the first quarter!! That's how great the guy is. But we basically neutralized for the rest of the game, and that's why we blew them out. I don't think Henry would consider that game in Nashville a "good" game for him. And I would agree. I believe, even though the dude went for 100 yards, that we stopped him for the majority of the game. To me, that's a win.
The dude is superhuman against us. Giving up only 100 yards, when the tacks are basically worthless in the air, is absolutely a good thing. But if Henry is running for 200+ yards and multiple TDs it means they are dominating our defense, and - like I said - that's gonna be a long night for us.
He had 155 all purpose yards in the game - not sure where this 100 yards thing is coming from - and he averaged over 10 yards per touch in the second quarter - he just didn't get many touches that quarter and then they were too far behind.
Let me put it like this - If Vrabel/Downing had kept feeding Henry the rock in that game I BELIEVE he 100% would have had 200+ yards and 2 touchdowns. Even figuring in the 4 times he was stuffed on rush attempts and the fumble (at the end of a big gain) he was clicking of 7+ yards per carry and 11.3 yards per catch. He was playing great.
The only two possessions we stopped him on were the forced fumble near the red zone and the three and out at in the mid 3rd Q.
They abandoned the run for the remaining 23 minutes of clock.
I don't think we stopped him at all. They quit feeding him.
I still think he'll need to have a career game on Sat. night to make any sort of difference, because I think our offense can produce more points than theirs. And I think we can get points on the board faster.

Gonna be wild here in Jacksonville. All I know is that Henry has had our number. If we can contain him, get out to an early lead, then we win.
But if the D can't stop Henry, it's gonna be a long night. I'm saying obvious things.
I feel like this Defensive Front 7 is better than we actually give them credit for. Whether we go 3-4 or modified, the the edge has to contain Henry and bring him back into the middle where we can go low on him and trip him up. This is Mike Caldwell's opus. He needs to make sure our LBs and D-Line are working together to suppress Henry.
Henry wins or loses this game. Same as it ever was.

Just really quick...
You do know what Derrick Henry normally does to us? I mean, you get that right?
You are making it sound like "155 all purpose yards" is such a domination.... Henry is capable of 200+ and multiple TDs. We held him to "155" and only 1 TD. And the vast majority was in the 1st Quarter. We shut him down for 3 quarters. Come on. I know you watched that game. WE shut him down on December 11th. And you know it.
Based on history, what happened in Nashville this past December is absolutely a nuetralization of King Henry. I'm not sure why you are acting like the way our D absolutely took out Henry in that game is something to ignore.
You spent another thread eating crow about how our D actually has stepped up. You ate crow about how you were wrong regarding the Defense and it's ability to adjust. And yet here you are, acting as though what we did to Henry on December 11th was nothing and should be ignored.
Not me. I have confidence in this team, and I think if we can hold Henry to only 100 yards than that's a win. If Henry only scores 1 TD and isn't a factor in the 2nd half, than that should be praised upon and our D should consider that a win.
King Henry has decimated out teams for years when everything was on the line. Our D has a clear assignment. And I don't know why you are ignoring how important it is to keep Henry under 200 and less than 2 TDs. If Henry is over 200 and more than 2 TDs, we're in for a long night. What I'm saying isn't even controversial. It's just how it's always been. UNTILL SATURDAY NIGHT, BABY!!! It's time to show them that we can stop Henry. That's gonna be the nail in the tack coffin.

Why are you guys so hell bent on acting like this defense shut down Henry?
I'd love for that to be true, but it just isn't.
Henry had 3 carries for 23 yards and a reception for 16 in the 2nd Q before the fumble.
Why would you call that shutting him down? Unless you mean his coach and coordinator shut him down.
They should have fed him more.
Literally the only drive he was shut down on by our defense was the tacks first possession of the second half.
They stuffed him twice, Tenn. was backed up by a penalty, Tannehill was sacked, and they punted. That's it. That was the only instance in that whole game that he was "shut down" by our defense.
It was nice work by our defense and really good timing to do make stops on that drive, but it doesn't equate to Henry being "shut down by our defense from the second quarter on."
It was quickly 27-17 halfway into the third and the tacks abandoned the run.

The surest ways to shut him down this game
1. Jump out to an early lead and don't let up.
2. Avoid turnovers like the plague. Every time we've lost a big game to the tacks, we have a disastrous string of turnovers.
3. On defense, Penetration rules the nation.
4. Two words: Gang tackle.

7.1 yards a carry and 11 yards per reception is getting "shut down"
If that "wasn't working" what does it look like when it is working??
10 yards per carry?
13?
In case you'd like some context - 7.1 YPC is indeed Henry's BEST game of efficiency this entire season.
