I just hope they don’t do us the same way we did the Colts last year and just robbed them of the playoffs, even worse is that they will move on in our place
Maybe the stadium won’t be a madhouse. They were saying on 1010 this morning there are plenty of seats still available.

I've been very interested in this, so I've been tracking the ticket sales on Ticketmaster for the last couple of weeks.

If you go to Jaguars.com, and "buy tickets" for the Titans game, almost all the tickets available are resale tickets offered for very high prices.  There are still a few tickets that are being sold by the Jaguars, but the Jaguars have adjusted those prices upward also.

I compared the available tickets to the Titans vs Jaguars to the tickets available for Browns vs Steelers, and there's no comparison.  There are loads of resale tickets available for the game in Pittsburg.

I think it will be a madhouse in Jacksonville.

Saturday night game for the division title? It will be a madhouse regardless, lol.

Let me put it like this - If Vrabel/Downing had kept feeding Henry the rock in that game  I BELIEVE  he 100% would have had 200+ yards and 2 touchdowns. Even figuring in the 4 times he was stuffed on rush attempts and the fumble (at the end of a big gain) he was clicking off 7+ yards per carry and 11.3 yards per catch. He was playing great.

The only two possessions we stopped him on were the forced fumble near the red zone and the three and out at in the mid 3rd Q.

They abandoned the run for the remaining 23 minutes of clock.

I don't think we stopped him at all. They quit feeding him.

I still think he'll need to have a career game on Sat. night to make any sort of difference, because I think our offense can produce more points than theirs. And I think we can get points on the board faster.
He had 96 rushing yards in the first quarter and 21 yards on 1 run in the 2nd quarter. Had 117 yrds rushing in the first quarter and that one run in the 2nd combined. Outside of that he did nothing on the ground with 121 rushing yards on the day.  Thats why they went away from the run.  If the run game was working you can bet Tenn. would of continued to run the ball because thats what they do.  He had 119 rushing yards in the first half.  I stand corrected on a Jag franchise record in the first quarter, it was a personal record for Henry.  Henry got shut down from the 2nd quarter on, hopefully we can play him like we did for that last 3 quarters.

https://www.tennesseetitans.com/news/[BLEEP]...otes-x5594

point of correction, 3 runs, 23 total yards in Q2. It's hard to say we 'shut him down' when he followed a 21-yard run with a 16-yard catch.

We had our foot on the gas, and that made all the difference. It was 13-14 tacks when Henry netted 37 yards in 2 plays; After that turnover, the next time they touched the ball for a meaninful drive, it was 27-14, and they still tried to feed Henry (2 carries in a 5? play drive that resulted in a punt, and we punt 6 more on the board. 33-14 doesn't result in a lot of handoffs.

Greatest key to this game again is going to be scoring early and often to force them into one dimension, and it's a dimension they aren't doing well right now.

Why are you guys so hell bent on acting like this defense shut down Henry?
I'd love for that to be true, but it just isn't.

Henry had 3 carries for 23 yards and a reception for 16 in the 2nd Q before the fumble.

Why would you call that shutting him down? Unless you mean his coach and coordinator shut him down.
They should have fed him more.

Literally the only drive he was shut down on by our defense was the tacks first possession of the second half.
They stuffed him twice, Tenn. was backed up by a penalty, Tannehill was sacked,  and they punted. That's it. That was the only instance in that whole game that he was "shut down" by our defense.

It was nice work by our defense and really good timing to do make stops on that drive, but it doesn't equate to Henry being  "shut down by our defense from the second quarter on."
It was quickly 27-17 halfway into the third and the tacks abandoned the run.
Because they did.  Outside of the 1st and the one run in the 2nd he had a whole 4 yards on the ground the entire game.  If the run game was working they would of continued to run Henry but it wasnt.

How many teams rely on ground game to make up a 19-point deficit in a quarter and a half?

This will be a release of 22 years of frustration, anger, and sadness. Madhouse indeed!

I don't see any way it's not ~60,000 DUVAL faithful and  ~6 or 7 thousand tack fans packing that place this Saturday.

Anyone who attended the seahawks game or the bills game in 2017 should remember that atmosphere and expect that, only there won't be near as many tack fans as there were bills fans.

I don't see THAT many tack fans there TBH.

I don't think they have that big of a fan base.

Secondly it seems much of their fan base are demoralized by their late season collapse and want nothing to do with the tacks in the playoffs.

Anyway, we should simply pound the tacks and put them and their fans out of deeply into their misery.

That's not healthy man.  The Jags cleaned the Titans' clocks twice in 2005 on their way to the playoffs.  Then again both teams were playing for 2nd place behind the Colts.  Regardless, I feel like we should be over 1999 by now?

You're right.

I was being conservative in that ratio due to the playoff implications, but I do think it could be a much lower number of the hill people.

Nope.  We're all permanently scarred - Except for you for some reason...  Are you a tack spy?

I think any Jaguars fan who is alive and at the AFCCG in 1999 would have had a difficult time getting over that loss.  I believe in many cases, that loss won't be out of our system until the Jaguars reach/win the Super Bowl.

They have tortured and dominated this team for the better part of two decades, starting in 1999.

Under those circumstances its hard for Jaguars fans to NOT harbor hatred of the tacks.

C'mon man....you've got to allow me room for a little bit of hyperbole. I was there in 2000 for that game, seeing defeat snatched from the jaws of victory, interacting with those wonderful, gracious Titan's fans as they left the stadium. But of course, it's just a distant memory now. That being said...

KILL THOSE TACKS! SHOW THEM NO MERCY!! HANG A FIFTY BURGER ON THEIR SORRY [BLEEP]!!! DEFLATE THE TIRES OF ANY OBNOXIOUS YAHOO INBRED FLAMING TACKS FAN THAT YOU ENCOUNTER SO THAT THEY WILL HAVE TO STAY ADDITIONAL HOURS IN JAX AND ABSORB THE BEAT DOWN!!! KILL!! MAIM!! SHRED!!! MACERATE!!! PULVERIZE!!! TILL NOTHING IS LEFT BUT TATTERED TACKS UNIFORMS ON THE SACRED SOIL OF TIAA BANK FIELD!!!

There, I feel heathier now. Hope you do too.

While I appreciate and agree with your message I cannot overlook the blatant and utterly incomprehensible forum violations in your post. First off, you used the flaming stinking tacks proper name and if that was not bad enough, you capitalized it. Then you go on to capitalize tacks numerous times. Now I do understand that you were yelling but I'm not sure if that is reason enough to use caps. I might be able to forgive that but the first violation is an abomination. Angry You should do the right thing and initiate a one day self ban for your misgivings.

I was alive for it, I watched parts on TV and heard other parts on the radio.  I was in high school for it and it was the only topic of discussion both the week before and the week after.
But the simple fact is the 1999 team just wasn't very good.  They lucked out with their schedule.  The 2007 and 2017 Jags teams were both more talented and more physically dominating than the 1999 squad.  I don't think the 1999 defense would have slowed down the Rams.  It would have been a shootout and the Rams had more weapons that year.  The Titans actually slowed the Rams down and made that Super Bowl a competitive game.
So if we're ranking disappointments, the losses in 2006, 2007, and 2017 rank higher, for me.

The 1999 team wasn't very good? The team that retired Marino and Johnson in one fell swoop 62-7? The team wasn't good against the Tacks because they didn't matchup well (and the tacks were pretty good that year as well 13-3), but to say that the team with the best record in the AFC wasn't good might be the worst take you've ever had in these forums. And that's saying something.

LOL

I'm not gonna bother - but to say "drag on fam, drag on."
There's a lot of heat in this thread. I'm just eating popcorn and enjoying it.

Though I still can't believe some here think that holding Henry to only 120 yards, most of which happened in the 1st Quarter isn't a total victory.

If we can shut Henry to just 120 and 1 TD on Saturday, we win. I keep saying this. And it keeps getting ignored.

If, on the other hand, Henry goes for over 200 yards and has multiple TDs, we're in trouble. It's just the way it always is.... The tacks have had our number for decades. We are 6 and 14 against the tacks since 2013. Out of 20 games, they have beaten us 14 times. It's been an embarrassment.

And they key to most those wins has been Henry. We must stop Henry!!! From all the games I've watched, if we can hold him to less than 130 yards and only 1 TD, we have a chance to win. But if he goes off for 200+ and 2 or more TDs? It's much harder for us to win.
