Rausher coached him in Minnesota.

Maybe Rauscher can coax the Vikings' center to come over, too. Whoever he is, I'm willing to bet he's a huge upgrade over Fortner.

I’m curious to see what happens with Bartch.

I think that Hodges is being groomed as an IOL backup and will compete with Shatley next year.

Bartch was released.

If Little was better than Cam at the position he'd be playing the position when healthy. As for Cleveland, an bi-week and his toe injury won't be enough time for him to become an immediate starter unless there's an injury on the OL. He'll be an back up until he's acclimated to our system even though our OL coach has coached him.

Time Will Tell.

NH3...

Gonna have to cut good players with high salaries to sign Trev, Cisco, Allen, and now possibly Cleveland

He is absolutely an immediate starter if healthy. Also don’t think we’d have made the trade of his injury was anything long term. He’ll be starting at LG against SF

He clears waivers will end up on practice squad
Wonder what the plan is, do they try him at center?

What's the next piece to be acquired on the OL, Center?

Supposedly,  the draft is deep this year at the center position. I wish Rauscher would find the switch on Fortner to make him play better.  The drafting of Fortner was the last straw for O-Line-matters, guess he was right about the guy.

Nah wasn't it the walker pick that pushed him over the edge...

Wonder if he is happy as a bengals fan
If the Jags don't sign him, they should be able to get a pick back for him as long as he meets whatever roster requirement there is (if there is one, can't find anything).

The playing time % would be for next year, not this year. It's why with Marvin Jones retirement or stepping away may no longer get the Jags another pick in 2024.

What about Walker Little?

Everyone seems so sure he's just going back to being backup swing until next season, then we'll see.

I think walker is LG initially as they work in Cleveland.

We suddenly have the depth we kinda thought we'd have at the beginning of the season.
Great trade at a super cheap price, it has positives only.

We really needed IOL help and this gives us ton of flexibility. What we do after the season Is uncertain but either he gets extended meaning he has player well or we likely get a comp pick back for him as he signs somewhere else.
Win win.

Like others said the only question is the Walker Little situation. Curious to see how that plays out.

Train Little at C, he's smart. Would put our best 5 on the line
Get one of them to start taking snaps on this bye week. Get fortner off the damn field.
It's fun to speculate. I know some folks, including one of my brothers is pissed or is assuming that the team is doing Walker Little wrong again. By putting him back on the bench. That's all speculative. We won't know anything until the press releases start taking place and the interviews start taking place this week.

There's always a catch. It's clear Cam Robinson adds a nastiness and upgrade to the group overall. So, he's our starting LT. It's obvious the team has issues at LG, C & RG (Even though Scherff has been playing better) and we have a promising rookie in Harrison playing well enough at RT.

The challenges rest within the injury concerns. Historically and currently. I think Cam has played one full season in his career. Little is dealing with that knee injury. Fortner has been relatively healthy but he's not playing much better than last year, Scherff has his historical struggles and Harrison has been dealing with a shoulder injury.

As we get into this month and next month. The colder weather begins to heat up the sense of urgency as play-off spots and divisional leads are on the line. Guys are going to be flying faster, hitting harder and looking to get after the QB more frequently. It's imperative that we have adequate depth, competence and strengths in these areas to get us into the play-off's.

Long term? Even if Walker Little does get moved back to swing tackle duties? It gives us more leverage in the long run. We could see Cleveland and Little battling for the LT job next year if things work out financially. At any rate. At the end of the day? We got better in an area of need.

73.8 grade at PFF

LOVE THIS!!
Where does that grade stack him with our guys?

as far as LGs go, I'd say somewhere hovering around the ceiling. Our guys are huddling in the basement.

Temporary fix (for now), but if the guy fits and performs, he's young and gives you a good chance to kick the tires before making an offer in the offseason. Not a lot of negatives one can find in this deal

I liked that he played all 17 games for the past two seasons. Was out a couple earlier this year, but sounds like he's durable.

All competitive rebuilds begin with an extra sixth round pick, dontchaknow?

Yeah, I didn't want us to take swings on the defensive side. Bringing in an OG will pay dividends over the second half of the season.
(10-31-2023, 02:32 PM)jessepeck1213 Wrote: [ -> ]What does this mean for the little though? He was out best o lineman this year? Is harrison gonna hit the pine? Cam has been playing pretty well.

Injuries are an inevitability. If Cleveland isn't ready day one, Little can play a week or two at LG, and then we have a fantastic insurance plan should either of our tackles get hurt. You absolutely 1000% elephants need that if you are serious about playing in the postseason. I don't want Blake Hance to be the guy I rely on to keep Trevor upright in a do or die game.

Cousins' achilles popped after he dropped back to pass and planted his foot. No contact was given up on that injury.
