Positives:
+Tank Bigsby: By far his best game as a pro. He looks like a new Running back
+Travon Walker: Finally playing where he should on the defensive line: 2 sacks
+Offensive line: Trevor looked comfortable back there today
+Defense: Locked Miami down most of the day
+Brian Thomas Jr: Had a great First half and had a first half TD. He is going to be good
Concerns:
-Second half offense: Outside of one drive, Miami shut the Jaguars offense down the second half
-ETN: Got the ball punched out on him and did not run well today.
-Kirk: Possibly his worst game as a Jaguar. Dropped some crucial ones today
-Degenerate Gambling Doug Pederson: I am all for aggressive but going for it on 4th down inside your own 40? Then a lame sweep play call as well. Just terrible. He needs to Dial it back a bit.
A frustrating afternoon. First half we looked fantastic. D was making big stops and looking fast and aggressive. O was getting good yards on the ground and making big plays deep. Trevors throw to Thomas was a beauty. So much to be impressed with.
2nd half....I don't know. The Etienne fumble was huge. Hurt us then we give up a huge TD next play. It seemed to knock us and wake up Miami. Don't know why Doug went for it on 4th down and the playcall was awful. I think we had 7 pass attempts in the 2nd half. It all just fell apart. Drops, mistakes, oline struggles, questionable playcalls and D tiring out. It was all our flaws coming out.
It's a hard game to judge. We had plenty of positives and plenty of negatives. Miami are a good team and we held them to 20 points on the road. Next week will be interesting to see where the team goes. There's a good team here but we hurt ourselves so many times and we can't overcome it right now.
I'm still positive and optimistic for this season but you want to see us correcting those negatives.
Positive- Our new kicker & cooke is still awesome
Negative- secondary leaking the 2 wham plays to hill and waddle

Sensible take. The offense just had a difficult time bouncing back from a little adversity. There's no doubt we have a strong foundation to build upon, but this offense is a little shaky when it comes to confidence. The defense is just fine, they were simply gassed at the end.
While terribly disappointed today, I'm also hopeful. Swings in momentum happen. The offense, team and coaches, have some work to do.
They lost. Not sugarcoating a turd after losses this season. It's not how you start. It's how you finish. They finished like [BLEEP].

Exactly this. This wouldnt be as bad if it wasnt for last season. This team has become the team that finds ways to lose. The team that will fumbke, that will drop the pass, that will miss the block etc.
Evan engram caught a hundred balls last year. 1 for 5 today.
Btj looked like an all pro, no targets in the second half.
ETN lost us the game but we only had 262 yards offense ad again two shots tp get one yard and we fail. This team just doesnt have what it takes to get it done when it matters. And tgats going to be my position until i SEE IT.

The fighting through adversity is definitely an area you'd like to see us get better as. Every team have good and bad moments in games but we have struggled lately overcoming those moments games turn against us. We had the big swing with the fumble and Hill TD but the missed FG still had us up 3. That's where you just want to see us put some drive together to calm things down and get things going our way again.
The one frustration I have with Doug at the moment is how the O is being used. I know the oline has issues we need to work around and there are things they seem to have more faith with than others but I don't know how close we are to Doug's O that he wants run and run the way he wants. We go from run heavy to pass heavy without any real reason and if one doesn't work then we go far the other way. I'm trying not to overreact to one game but I'm interested to see how the O progresses as the season goes on.
Screw positives we gave that game away. It was an epic collapse completely mirrors last season, as if we learned nothing all offseason. This team can’t close. Trevor taking two sacks on the final drive inexcusable. Doug’s stupid decision making inexcusable. The fumble inexcusable. This team is a wet paper bag.
It's starting to be a theme with this coaching staff. A collapse, last year it was the 2nd half of the season collapse and the first game of the season this year it was the 2nd half collapse. Not a good trend.
Positives:
- Defensive Line played well. Travon Walker showed up early with 2 sacks. Armstead with 1 sack. The whole DL dominated for the most part.
- Bigsby made good use of his carries. Nice game for him.
- Special teams will be promising. Cooke is great as usual. Little off to a good start. Coverage was good. Looking forward to seeing some explosive returns.
Concerns:
- OL. This is getting beaten like a dead horse. Harrison struggled. Robinson had some bad moments. (sack included) and a few miscommunications on the right side in several run and pass plays. When they were on point, so was Trevor. They need to gel more consistently as soon as possible or this will be a long season.
- Offensive weapons struggled some. Drops by the receivers. Especially, three crucial 3rd down drops. Time to use those magnetic gloves. And Etienne fumbling inside the opponent's 5 yard line was devastating.
- I won't entirely blame the DBs this game. They did go up against Waddle and Hill. There were several blown coverages and bad angles taken. Can't do that with WRs of that calibur.
Not the end of the world. This was the first game of the season. And those go in any direction. I'd panick if there is a 1-5 start.
Trevor played well at times but it’s disappointing that with the game on the line you don’t have the feeling he will be the one to go an make a play.
Sucks to see Campbell with the hamstring again. The guu just cant stay healthy.
For a half we look improved and for another we looked like the team from last year. Not sure what to make of it.
+
1. Bigsby
2. BTJ
3. Walker
4. Special Teams
-
1. Etienne fumble
2. Coaching
3.Darby
4 Offensive Tackles
At least the collapse was on Game 1 not against the Titans for the Division in the last game of the season. Maybe we can Jag early in the season and make a playoff run circa 2017.

The collapse started 7 games ago and we are still in it. Haven't came out of it yet. Have lost 6 of the last 7

Degenerate? Wow, pretty [BLEEP] stupid.
Doug IMO has been on the hot seat since the collapse after last year. Today that seat got much warmer. Sure, ETN’s fumble and Kirk’s drops cost the team big time. This happens, players bounce back. However the play calling was absolutely mind blowing in the second half. Trevor had SEVEN pass attempts in the second half. SEVEN! This play calling is the exact same as we saw last year down the stretch. Outcoached by miles in the second half. No adjustments. Going for it up 3 on our own 29 was a panic boneheaded call. Just zero positives from the second half period.
The fact is it’s been a common theme, if it continues Doug and Press need to go.
The passing game looks fine though pressure is still problematic. The run game is clearly improved but still not consistent enough. The defense played well but they were simply up against one of the best big play offenses in the League and eventually it showed. I'm concerned that they didn't get enough pressure on the QB, he had to many chances to either make the quick pass or to go through the progressions to the outlet guy. The fish lived in the flats today and the Jags didn't have much of an answer. Two plays changed this game and they happened to come back to back, otherwise it was a blowout. Once they lost the momentum they couldn't find a way to get it back, that's a concern but in week 1 there's still time to recover from this.
Sorry but the hot seat is on Baalke. He refuses to fix the main issue that has killed this team
Good news Trevor Lawrence and Brian Thomas are elite. Bad news they can only play well if OL do their job.

Trevor Lawrence is a good player but no where near elite . An Alite QB makes a handful
Of plays to win a game even when conditions aren’t optimal. That’s not him. He is a good player that makes some good plays.. unfortunately the qb position of today demands moré.
