Quote:The culture of the team is one that you can be comfortable in your job even if you succeed only 1/4 of the time.  Even if we used his average of .250 in baseball, it wouldn't be a good batting average.  That's how low the winning percentage is.  12-36 is absolutely a putrid record.  I don't foresee a scenario that this isn't another double digit loss team at the same time next year.

To put it into perspective, let's look into the future.  Let's say that Bradley gets it together and becomes an awesome coach.  His winning percentage is so bad that he would have to average an 11-5 record for the next 4 years just to pull his career winning percentage to .500.

To further quantify your statement...

Assuming Bradley goes 9-7 next year (which I think we could all agree would be a very aggressive expectation/achievement) that would put him at 21-43 over 64 games.

The only coaches in the history of the NFL that had the same success or worse (in 64 games or more) are:

Bill McPeak with 21 wins in 70 games (going 1-12-1, 5-7-2, 3-11, 6-8 and 6-8)

David Shula with 19 wins over 71 games (going 5-11, 3-13, 3-13, 7-9, 1-6)

Harland Svare with 21 wins over 74 games (going 0-5, 5-9, 5-7-2, 4-10, 2-2, 4-9, 1-6)

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/coaches/

None of the above coaches won more than 7 games in a season.  There is no logic or rationale that should lead anyone to conclude that Bradley will lead this team to a winning culture.

To me, the Jaguars organization has made an emotional decision based on Bradley's personality.  As much as anyone I hope he pans out but there are no facts to back up that hope.
To me the fans here are just as bad as Gus! They support failure, then justify it... They support bad players, and bad decisions the team make... So yes the culture here is a losing one especially amongst the supposedly die hard fans..

Yeah, you're the only one who cares. Because you're tough. A real man's man. Just like so many posting on this thread - the ones who have no idea what they are talking about, but will still bloviate about "culture", because they watch football on tv, they play Madden, they even have a fantasy football team!

But they know culture!

Keep 'em coming guys. Comedy Central - message board style.
^^Once again saying that fans don't know enough to comment on football teams.  We don't have to be football geniuses to see that the culture promotes "getting better" over winning.  Theoretically, getting better will get you there.  Maybe they should be getting more better?  The only way to quantify whether a team is successful or not is winning and the current regime didn't give a crap about winning these last 3 years.  Probably won't care next year either....

Quote:The culture also includes John Oehser. Still holding out hope he steps down and gets rid of the stench and stigma he had on this franchise since he arrived.

Why does everyone hates Oesher?

He is a franchise curse. Irsay sent him here to sabotage us.

Quote:What does posting on a message board have to do with making crucial football personnel decisions? Nothing.
That was a stupid statement that was barely past "you are glue" a 3rd grader would spout.. You post on a message board, what does your opinion have to do with anything? Not much, you are not even making logical statements.

It was totally immaterial to whether a Khan's money situation means he is a genius at making football business decisions.

Try harder.

What the hell are you talking about??? Lol...There is a losing culture here in this city whether you believe it or not... You are probably one of them fans who have season tickets and go to the game just to eat popcorn and enjoy the atmosphere! A Gus type of fan!

Bruh.

Everything you've posted for the last 48 hours has been a salty diatribe.

We get it, you're bitter.

Try to add some comedy to your posts. You know, try not to take yourself and this message board to seriously.

And if you can't do that, go outside for a while. Take some breaths, deeply.

You're being way too angry over something that you have no control over.
Quote:When Gus Bradley was introduced as the HC one of the things he hammered was the fact the he wanted to establish a culture. Well he is 12 - 30+ losses. Over the course of the last  3 years after hearing interviews from various players on the team they all preach getting better despite getting beat senseless. If any time was the time to sieze the moment and show Jacksonville what we've been waiting for it was this one.

I mean the road was paved for success taking in to account injured players and the schedule and this team fell flat on their faces. We were in a prime position to take this division but our coaches and players didn't even want to talk about it which to me meant that they weren't even confident in their ability to win.

When this team takes the field against another team most of the time they look like they've lost the battle mentally and physically within 5 min of the 1st quarter. The Jaguars have no attitude or " it " factor when their on the field.

So I ask you Jag fans exactly what culture has Gus established since he got here? Me personally I believe he has established a loser mentality or a losing is ok as long as you tried hard identity.

Thoughts?

I agree with you for the most part about Gus, but I think it's more of a "Surprised Winner Mentality". Every time it seems when the Jags win a game, Gus is hopping around the locker room doing his chants, like they are surprised that they won the darn game.

I don't think the loser mental state has gotten to BB or the Two Al's, because those guys are usually the reason we do get a win from time to time.

Just when I thought you couldn't get more childish ... Does your mom encourage this type of behavior?

And StroudCroud egging you on ... shocking!

I'm not bitter - I'm laughing my butt off. It is Comedy Central! Especially on Monday after a game.

There are adults who post here - good posts that are insightful and at times humorous. But they are being pushed out by the cretins who are incapable of doing anything other that saying the same thing (get rid of Gus; inane ice cream references) over and over and over again.

I understand that some people's opinions are ignored at home and at work, so they have to come on here to get some sort of validation. They are sad folks who are using the rest of us as their therapy. Sort of sad really. But it gets old. Very old.

My use and enjoyment of this board lessens all the time because the childish level goes up and up. I respond to some of the kids because it's my duty. Stop laughing! Yes, I know the children will continue to giggle and be stupid. But oh well.

All you said is correct - and believe it or not I bite my tongue more than not. Boy, I wish I didn't quit smoking. But the season's over - all that's left is the endless (and I do mean endless) speculation about the draft, so I'll rarely check out the board anyway.

But what it could have been.

Is that a promise? If so, thank you.

Tldr -- u salty bruh.

No amount of words can change that, but try to convince yourself you you want.

But here's some advice, I think beast boy said it... to thine own self be true, brah.
Can you guys all just get a room?  Please?

Here's a question; can a culture be focused on individual performance and not winning and still satisfy the "results oriented" expectations?
