Quote:This is honestly more examples of a logical fallacy.  If we don't know who the hell someone is then they REALLY shouldn't be allowed into the country.

Right now we have a situation where people with known terrorist ties openly talking about martyrdom on social media are granted Visa's to enter this country and kill innocent Americans.  THAT should be the outrage.

That makes no sense. Trump wants to ban Muslims from entering the country. Are you going on the honor system?
Quote:Ok, I'll bite.  Ban ALL immigration until we have taken care of our own citizens.  When everyone in the US is working, when government assistance is at near zero and employer's are desperate for more workers then re-open immigration.  Charity begins at home.

When the doctor has a room full of patients with cut fingers already waiting to be treated he takes them in the order they showed up.

DragonFury seems to believe it is written in the constitution, or rather it should be therefor it is.
I have made this point before, but it bears repeating.   What is missing from this debate is some sense of proportion.   Of course we should be fighting ISIS.  Of course we should stand up against Islamic Extremism.   But if you look at the problem of Islamic extremists carrying out attacks in this country, our fear of terrorists is way out of proportion to the actual threat.

Your odds of being killed in a mass shooting or bombing are miniscule.   And even if you are killed in a bombing or shooting, the odds of it being the result of a terrorist attack is also miniscule.

You have far greater odds of being killed by a crazy person than being killed by a Muslim fundamentalist.  It seems like some crazy person goes off every day and starts shooting people.   But no one is advocating rounding up all the crazy people and locking them up.  So why all the hysterical fear of Muslims?   It's because this whole terrorist narrative is great for TV ratings, and it's really great for Presidential candidates because it allows them to build up this big bogeyman, "them" out there, and "us" in here.

True, the media does blow this (and everything else) out of proportion. However, looking past the terrorism aspect and into the future, does the fact that a large percentage of American Muslims supporting Shariah over the consititution, or their defense of violence against non-Muslims, not concern you? Yes, they only represent 0.8% of our population, but politicians in DC are looking to increase that number through immigration (while at the same time Muslims out reproduce American citizens by 33% (http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/201...ous-group/)). Increase it enough and you soon end up like Germany where the "Sharia police" are allowed to patrol the streets (http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-35059488). This may not concern you right now, but it sure will in about 10-15 years if Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, the Deomocrats, and the GOP have their way. We can't be shortsighted and politically correct, ignoring these facts.

You may not believe it, but the America way-of-life is definitely at stake. Personally, I don't want my children to live in a United States where American culture and values are second-fiddle or even equal to another. The American way takes priority in America, and it shouldn't be any other way.
Quote:That makes no sense. Trump wants to ban Muslims from entering the country. Are you going on the honor system?

no.  That's the point.  Right now we are basically going with NO system.  The female attacker had demonstrative ties to radical ideology and now we believe that both she and Syed were openly talking about Martyrdom before the attack in California.  We should have a system in place by which anyone who has made reference to killing themselves in an attack on America is barred from entering the country.

As for the honor system, that is based on the false assumption that we are advocating a purely reactive and rudimentary vetting process.  We're not talking about a thirty second interview in a broom closet where someone just asks "Are you Islamic yes or no."  Thats about what you have now.

What the Trumpians are saying is that we should have a system by which a person outside this country should have to affirmatively prove who they are, what their background is and the host country should have to certify that to the best of their knowledge in cooperation with our own intelligence services that a person has not had any contact with terrorists or suspected terrorists.

In the case mentioned where there is doubt about someone's background or affiliations then they shouldn't be approved for entry.  In other words we should know who the hell someone is before they are allowed in this country i don't understand how hard that is to understand.

Frankly that's childish and you should be ashamed of yourself.  The most powerful, well funded, far reaching terrorist organization in the world has grown exponentially over the last 8 years.  They are threatening and have achieved mass casualties on American soil with the promise to do more.  To ignore that threat would be insane.  We aren't talking about a theoretical probability in some far off land.  We are talking about the escalation of attacks away from the heartland of Iraq and Syria by a group that defies any sense of Mercy Morality or the desire to participate in the civilized world.  They have demonstrated a diabolical commitment to the destruction of the infidels and if we do not meet that aggression in kind with our own commitment to our safety then we might as well just recognize them as the new global head, adopt shariah law and pay them the tax for being non believers.
They're terrorists.   And we are now terrorized.   They've already won.

They want to split the world into Muslims and infidels.   And now we are talking about drawing a line in the sand and putting all the Muslims on one side and us on the other.   They won that one, too.

They are pulling our strings.  We are handing them the victory.
Defending yourself and your civilization isnt being terrorized and shariah law already seperates the world
Please tell me you guys have seen the Darth Trump vid.

Too funny.

Lol. Why bring such a weak game to such a strong man?

He has no real argument. Godwin's Law is the last resort when you have a weak, defeated platform.

Hitler took office by:

1. Co-opting an existing party to suit his ends

2. Delivering fiery speeches that engaged those who listened, even though they were largely just demagoguery and bunk

3. Playing off the fears of Germans that another war was coming, and with their nation still weakened from WWI, they would not survive

4. Identifying and demonizing an unpopular ethnic group, uniting Germans around him as the champion of the coming race war

5. Staging a false flag terrorist attack by burning the Reichstag that advanced his platform--one built around nothing more than empty promises and appeals to fear and hate

Trump is attempting to take office by:

1. Co-opting the GOP to suit his needs

2. Delivering fiery speeches that engage those who listen, even though they're largely just demagoguery and bunk

3. Playing off the fears of Americans that a war is coming to our shores, one we can't win with anyone but the Donald in charge

4. Identifying and demonizing an unpopular ethnic group, uniting his idiot fan club around him as champion of the coming race war

5. If he's elected, the false flag is coming. Much like 9/11 was just short of a false flag, Trump will arrange one of his own.

Anyone who can say with a straight face that they believe in Donald Trump's plan to deny Muslims the right to immigrate to the US is an idiot. A dangerous, misguided nitwit of a human being who should eat their voter ID card rather than show up to the polls. Donald Trump might not have Hitler-esque aspirations, but he's campaigning on a platform that's going to lead the US down a very dark, familiar road, only this time we'd be the bad guys. All of you who claim to value your individual rights but still support Trump are fools. If Trump takes office, your individual rights will last right up until he declares that the country is full of Muslim sleeper cells, and the only way to find them is 24/7 warrantless monitoring of all activity and suspension of the Fourth Amendment.

Trump is a threat to freedom, partially because he's campaigning on a race war platform, and partly because his solutions for non-racial problems are, "I like Putin, we'd get along," and, "I've never declared bankruptcy." If you're seriously going to vote for him, just put me on ignore now, because I am going to be calling you all kinds of wonderful names between now and the GOP convention.

I was going through Winn Dixxie yesterday and they had a special on Heavy Duty Tin Foil.  If you need to borrow some I'm here for you.

lol.  That's just a further testament to the fact that you don't have a lot in the way of substantive arguments to make.

Lol.  I think that its really interesting just how far moral relativism has come in this country.  When it comes to terrorism we have reached a very distinct point where moral truth has been completely marginalized for a relativistic narratives.

It's the people who go into a Parisian theater and kill anyone who can't accurately recite the Quran that are the Fascists.  It's the people who video tape the violent unspeakable executions of people who disagree with them that are fascists.  It's the people willing to blow themselves up to settle old tribal scores that are racial supremacists.  We see the very Dawn of a new Evil in our time that promises the same hatred and destruction to Jews and non believers offered to us be the Furher.  Then steps advocated to defend us from Islamo Fascism draw comparisons to Hitler?

That's just sad.  It's not your fault.  As i have said many times, we do not actually teach what Fascism is in this country.  We are too busy teaching the gullible that the conflict we are engaged in now only started in the early 20th century (you know what I'm talking about.)

Donald Trump wasn't advocating that the position of the United States should be to Deny people into this country because of their race or Religion.  His position is that before we let anyone into this country we should know who the hell they are.  If we don't know who the hell we are then they shouldn't be allowed in, and we should stop the short term bleeding until we have a system in place that determine who the hell people are.

If you think that's harsh then you shouldn't be blaming trump, you should be blaming Syed Farook tashfin Malik, the Boston Bombers, the people who flew the planes that you think were just a cover for Saddam Hussein's business interests in Halliburton (he was a fascists by the way).

If you can honestly sit there and tell the families of those killed in this latest attack that anything beyond an Online application for a Fiance Visa, that didn't have the capability to catch an incorrect address let alone the direct connections to radical fundamentalism (streamlined in 2009) on behalf of the female terrorist,  would have made them German style bigots, then i will shame you to your face with the utter absurdity of valuing PC over people's lives.

That's a little worse than just calling names by the way.

It is no use. People are convinced he is the next Hitler and won't stop believing until the MSM stops as well.

Interesting. Where is the slippery slope argument when the perceived threat to personal freedom isn't focused on our precious guns?
