Quote:Why are you so sure you'll beat the Panthers? Do you know anything about that team?
Why are you even here? All you do is watch what we say about your precious Panthers and act like its a sin against humanity that we think its winnable... Honestly, your team isn't THAT good dude. You had a losing record in the worst division of the NFL and got blown out immediately by the 'Hawks.

Overreact much? Asking you why you think that game is so easily winnable is a "sin against humanity". Haha....ok
It's fun watching people who know nothing about my team spit out what ESPN tells them. You just confirmed your football knowledge doesn't extend beyond your team's bubble.
I'm here because I want to learn more about one of our opponents. But of course I'm going to chime in and start a conversation about my team when I see people make stupid posts about them.

They had a pick 6 at the end of the game when we were driving to tie it. Do you even watch football?
And any team that wins 4 games shouldn't act like they're so much better than any team.

I watched the Panthers' game against the Dolphins, and the starters seemed to struggle a lot. I know it's preseason, so you can't really read too much into it, but they should have been down 21-0 in the first quarter. It was 14-0 Miami when the Dolphins' running back scored an apparent TD to put the Phins up 21-0, but replay showed he fumbled it through the end zone for a touchback. I didn't watch much more of that game, and was amazed when the Panthers pulled it out. I assume the backups won that game. Cam Newton as 4-10 for 42 yards. It also looked like the Panthers have a major hole at WR.
The game is in Jacksonville, and the Jaguars do get some front line players back for the first game, notably TE Julius Thomas and WR Marqise Lee.
To say the game is "winnable" is not that much of a stretch.

The Panthers starters didn't play much of that game at all. 3 of our starting DLine were out. Our 2nd best corner was out. Luke and TD barely played. C'mon man, that's your analysis?
Did you watch our D against the Pats?
Regardless, both are preseason games and should be taken with a grain f salt.
My point is....it's easy to say the Panthers suck because we had a losing record. But if you look at the turning point for the team last year (against the Saints - I think it was week 11) then you'll see who you're really facing. Not to mention Cam is healthy this year.
I'm not knocking you for thinking its a winnable game - I'm not underestimating the Jags. It's the comments about how the "Panthers suck" that I think are funny.

If you're looking for acknowledgement from another team's fan forum then you're wasting your time. No one around the league cares about the team in your city the way you do, and everyone in every city is focused on the positives of their team right now. That's why you're thinking a QB who has shown nothing to make it seem like he's a true elite guy in four seasons is something other teams should be worried about while simultaneously disregarding the facets about the Jaguars we find encouraging in addition to the home field advantage the Jaguars will enjoy. To put it succinctly, no one outside of wherever the panthers play cares about the panthers just like you don't care about the Jaguars.
If the Jags break .500 I'll be surprised, but lets not act like it'll be because their schedule is tough, because it isn't.
Almost every single game on their schedule is winnable. This isn't the same team as last year, last year and the year before that were arguably the least talented teams we've ever fielded.

Nope....just looking for intelligent football conversation about the week one game.
You mean our QB who set all kinds of records his first two years?
Welp....doesn't look like I'll find it here.

Yeah, Bortles set some minor records as a rookie, too, not that I'd expect you to have any clue about it. You're proving my point, hombre.

What point, pal? I have yet to say anything negative about the Jags. It's been the opposite actually. Why are you guys so defensive over here.

I'm not your pal, guy, and my point is that expecting Jaguars fans to be as versed on your team as you are is idiotic.
Seldom, Wired...my boys.
Z, your team isn't really good. Ours isn't either. But yours has been 'formed' for 4+ years. Ours is year 2 with a potentially legit QB. I understand your angst. I will be too.

That's a fine point and all, buddy. But I'm not expecting that. Me asking why you guys are so sure we suck is trying to hear what you think our weakness are vs your strengths and how/why you'll be able to exploit them.
I came here to read what your weaknesses and strengths are because I don't just accept what ESPN tells me.
You shouldn't either.
Surely, you have won, and have post season accolades lately. But the Carolina Panthers are just a team, as the Jags. Just breathe and wait for the game.

My teams' D is going to be a top 3 D this year. Last time my QB was healthy we won 12 games. Our Oline is the best we've had in 6 years and our run game is the best we've ever had.
Feel free to tell me why we are bad though

I'm not your buddy, friend. If anyone here were interested in trying to uncover all of the panthers strengths and weaknesses they'd probably go read the panthers fan boards. As it is I can tell you what my perception of the panthers is: good defense that won't be as strong without Greg Hardy and a decent athletic QB that can't win games like the elite QBs do and your best WR is out for the season.
I know it's just part of being a fan, but I feel pretty good about the Jaguars chances of punching the panthers in the mouth and having them fold up in week one.

I'm not your friend....have we used all the nicknames already? Been a while since I've seen that skit.
Fair enough. Come over and hang out at our board if you want to learn more about our team.
Again....we aren't underestimating the Jags. I think you guys are going to be a good team. I just think our D is going to be way too much for you. It was for Brady the other night.
Looking forward to the game. There are a lot of us coming down to enjoy your city. Thank God the preseason is almost over.

Son, can I kindly caution you about language. Otherwise, I will simply just jeer at your lunacy. Please stick to football. 'My team's D is going to be top 3 this year' is all I read to think perhaps you are just a panther after all. Please open arguments intelligibly. Expectation is not an is. Bet you don't get that.
Now, apologize for bad writing, reword like a man. Let me help you, 'WE EXPECT OUR D TO BE TOP 3', then dream dream blah blah hope, blah QB, David Garrard, a headache, no weapons on O, D can't win in NFL today, blah ya da do etc
