Quote:That's not so bad. It looks like another Seahawks cast-off Bryan Walters will be our #5 WR. Dude has good hands.
#5 vs. #2/#1/Help me please stranger. Potato, potata. Thank God, the Jags can now call the outsider with true hands a #5. 02, my guess is Carolina is not looking at their new acquisition as such. Hello Jerry Porter, JJ Stokes, yo where's my boy Dennis Northcutt? Albeit later in 'offseason' in their case. Luckily, Cam Newton is an ascending QB, in year 5, to be feared that can pick D's apart, etc.
I dislike the ICFs of this world (oldies know) who are not cocky at all. Oh no, I come in peace. The worst pretext, the shrouded kind. But I'll attempt to degrade you every chance I get. Cowardice. It's nauseating to me. Luckily, 'me nor' yank. So perhaps a whoosh to me, and such. Go Jags, crush Carolina.
pre-season is over. scobee is gone cuts will be made this sat. even with the injurys we have at this time, marks out 4 to 6 weeks, a couple and thomas out for first few games. I still say jags go 6-10 with my reality pick.
my dream pick right now would be 10-6 ,and makeing playoffs as a wild card.
Quote:it has nothing to do with confidence in the team, nor being postive or negtiave. Its reality our team is still growing.
4 of our first 6 games are againest teams that made playoffs last year. Panthers made playoffs, dolphins just missed playoffs, colts made playoffs, pats won super bowl. we haven't ever won a game in london.
we will do good to win 6 games this year.
Even if they only went 6-10 thats an improvement from the last two seasons.
I am all in, after hearing HC Gus Bradley come out and say the team is built in a presser has me with enough optimism to say 10 wins this year!

Calm down please
read mine again were i said 10 wins. I also said it was my dream predication. I said 6 for reality. please read again.
I was thinking 6 - 10 / 7 - 9 before pre-season and the draft/off-season this year. After it's all said and done. I give them a slight increase with a 7 - 9 / 8 - 8 year.
Bortles was the pre-season hero this year. And that's what you want to see. The best player on your team needs to be the franchise QB. He didn't dissapoint one bit with his play. The running game looks promising. Despite being limited to one game this pre-season with Yeldon in the fold. I still feel confident we can get it done this year on the ground between TJ, Denard and Toby. Didn't see Lee at receiver. We'll be leaning on Robinson and Hurns which will have it's good moments and cring worthy drop moments. I think with Green in the mix though working with Lee in the rotation is going to be pleasant surprise this year on offense. Lewis and Harbor can get it done by committe until Thomas get's back at the TE slot.
Defensively. Wasn't all that impressed or confident with the starters. I saw NO pass rush from the starting front seven. The secondary was hit or miss. This could be our problem all year. Offense moves the ball and the defense can't stop anybody. Just a bit worried but we'll see. It could change quickly now that the regular season is here.

This is precisely what I've been thinking as well.

Don't count out TJ just yet. I don't know who gets the start week one, but TJ is just getting his feet wet. I expect him to claim an outright starting role at some point this season leaving us with no doubts about it.
I expect 0.5ish too, with an interesting path; upset some, let some get away.
On the ground, I can't see a justification for starting Yeldon ahead of the vets. For now anyway. Good problem to have. I like the stable.
I had contended a long time ago that this team 'needs' to reach at least a 6-10 season this year or Gus Bradley's job could be in jeopardy. I understand the enthusiasm for this season regarding BB2, but given the number of injuries to key players before the season has even started, I'm in doubt now as to if the Jags can even reach 6-10. Therefore, I'm revising my season prediction to 5-11... and I hope I'm wrong and we do much better.

Denard continually outplays his competition and no one wants him to start. I dont get it.
I mean, I know he had blocking issues and the hand thing earlier in his career, but that doesn't seem to be holding him back now. Especially last year with gerhart so obviously not 100% I was amazed Robinson wasn't the outright starter. I guess he just wears out or cant take the pounding or something I can't see in the broadcast.

I can see Denard starting the season, but I think TJ is really going to show something as he gets going and will eventually blow away all the competition.

Or he's the next Trent Richardson / Mark Ingram.
I'd really like to have seen Grant run with the 1st team offense. IMO his playing a significant role as a RB this season is still less likely than him being shipped to the practice squad.

Grant with the 1's?? Based on what? Shredding a 4th string Washington defense?
Also, Ingram is actually pretty solid. Richardson is an obvious bust but Lacy and Ingram are pretty good.

Grant with the 1's IN PRESEASON
(check my verb tense) to see what he could have done. Your comment about shredding a 4th string defense is exactly the reason I wanted to see how he would have done against a 1st string defense.
Ingram has never rushed over 1000 yards, and has started less that half the games he's played in spite of being a 1st round pick. Admittedly he has improved after a slow start. Following Ingram's path would mean that Yeldon has a breakout year in 2017. That's the dream!
I took TJ and Denard in my fantasy team leauge because I feel like we might have a good 1 - 2 this year with them. I can flex either/or if needed too. But I think we're going in that direction with Olson. It'll be TJ starting off the running attack with Denard cleaning up after him with his speed and then that should allow Blake to create plays off of boot legs and let his guys get deep behind the secondary.
