What Traits do you want to see from Bortles? |

We all want him to play well but what is the one thing you are looking for above all else?
I am looking for him to keep throwing the long ball and take some chances. I am so tired of seeing opposing teams stack the LOS and the Jags can't do anything about it. I don't care about the INTS I want to see him have one thing that a Jags QB has not had in awhile. A big set of balls

Let's try this again. It is still hard to get the game status for each player, so let me know if you see a report about someone being out, doubtful, questionable, or probable.
Note: Players often take Wednesday off, but are good enough for full practices on Thursday and Friday. That is probably true for Poz and Tafolo.

I was just looking at Blaine Gabberts game by game stats from his rookie year. Humor me
In week 8 in 2011 Gabbert was 10-30 97 yds 1 TD 2 INT 3.23 y/a 26 QB rating. OMG! Might
Be one of the worst performances ever put on by a QB.
Thank God for BB5!! I don't think on his worst day it would be that horrendous.
Moral of the story is as bad as it has been for us Jag Nation I believe the tide is turning
and all the fans that have stuck with the team through the brutal losses it will feel
Awesome when this franchise it back to the glory days.

Which 0-3 Team? Which 3-0 Team? |

Which 0-3 team has the best chance to get their first win of the season?
Which has the least chance?
I would normally pose the same two questions for 3-0 teams suffering their first loss, but this week two of those teams have a bye. So the question is, does the remaining 3-0 team win or lose their first game this week?
Selections for 0-3 teams are the following games.
Tampa Bay @ Pittsburgh
Miami @ Oakland * Even though Oakland is the Home Team, the game is in London
Jacksonville @ San Diego
My picks.
Best chance for a win - Oakland
My reasoning is simply because they are the only home team of the 0-3 crew.
Least chance for a win - Jacksonville
My reasoning is because Jacksonville typically doesn't play well on the West Coast, and they face a very good team that has won some tough games.
Selections for 3-0 teams are the following games.
Cincinnati - bye
Arizona - bye
Philadelphia @ San Francisco
Just a hunch, I think that the Eagles lose their first game this week.

monroe versus Joeckel |

i know monroe just had a fluke injury, but this move to ship away a 27 year old number 8 pick for a couple of ham sandwiches has to be the dumbest move yet by Caldwell. Monroe is a solid Left tackle graded in the top ten week after week and those do not come easily. it seems caldwell was so in love with an unproven rookie he disrupted our line and made it weaker. At least hold out for a 2 and a 3 to pick up quality guards. instead we have to start shopping in FA for a mediocre beadles.
what could have been a solid left side is now in training with little indication Joeckel will be half the player Monroe is/was. in my opinion this has been the most idiotic move Caldwell has made and it still makes no logical sense. we got a 4 and a 5 for a solid young left tackle.
anybody think we got a fair trade or is Baltimore still laughing at the Jags?

So we're finally here...
Much like every team plays a little tougher against the reigning champs, measuring their own strengths and weaknesses accordingly, so too, every team has checked the 'win' column next to their date with Jax.
No team will fold against us, and no lead will seem insurmountable to them. They will come week in and week out with extra fury.. extra everything to avoid falling to us.
We are going to have to not only win, but to do it convincingly, out of the gate...put our cleats on their throats, and not let up for an instant.
Save the field celebrations over minor accomplishments for the locker room. Got a sack? Great...get another one. Snatch a pick? Don't fumble it trying for an extra bit in the return. First down? Get back to the huddle, we're gonna need another one.
Winning will be tougher than it has ever been for Jacksonville until we make a 'statement', not just once, but every week until opposing qb's are wincing as they pick their butts off our lovely grass (preferably caked in their faceguards).
We are going to have to hit harder than ANY team, and blow out a contender or two before any NFL team will take us seriously.
10 sacks, and Luck scoring on nearly every possession will take some doing to undo..
It can happen quickly, or could take years of losing in the 4th quarter to overcome..
Now is the time to make it happen. This week..

Josh Evans replaces Winston Guy and will start Sunday.
JT Thomas replaces Dekota Watson and LaRoy Reynolds at the OTTO position.
1010XL Says the coaches reasoning was that Dekota had mental errors and LaRoy was under-performing with missed tackles.
