James Sample broke his arm and is having surgery.

He is expected back by training camp though, so probably not a crazy break.
Dang James Sample had surgery for a broken right arm.

Nvm beaten
Jinx!
Not too worried about that honestly. Broken bones especially in non-weight bearing areas heal very predictably. Hopefully he's back sometime before preseason. I expect him to be the starter midway through the season at the latest

Why can't it ever be a camp fodder player and not draft picks who get hurt? Smh

Agreed. A broken arm is the least of my worries. Slap a cast on it and he'll be back in 4-6 weeks.

let's not act like its a good thing

it's not... but it's not as serious as it could've been.

Injuries will happen.  More are to come.  At least he will probably be able to participate somewhat in training camp and the pre-season.

Hopefully we get our injuries "out of the way" (I know that's not how it works, but still) before the season starts
The Sample broken arm means he'll miss out on the final 4 OTA practices, a minicamp, and nothing else.  Not a big deal.

they are doing surgery... so, it's a little more than 'slap a cast on it'

They put screws in to stabilize the bones. Its the most "run of the mill" surgery you could have.

I doubt anything can make you feel better.

The surgery accelerates the healing process.  Don't try to make more of it than it probably is.

Where did you get your medical training?  Clearly you have vast knowledge into what that actually means.
At least it's an arm (as opposed to a knee/leg) and a simple procedure.  Not too bad of news.  Brown was probably the favorite to start anyway.

You're not getting with the program here.  He had a screw inserted.  That's almost like amputating the arm.  That limb is no longer of any use to him.
