A hair faster than the first run.

Why don't they confirm the speed before reporting it?

Because it annoys you like so many other things.
More thoughts....

Jake Fisher absolutely beasting the drills and looks like the overall best lineman out there. Collins also looking sharp. Would love a shot at either if we decide to trade back up into the late 1st.

Erick Flowers was very disappointing but that might be a boon to him (and us) because its going to make him viewed as a guard. He didn't look very good in the kickslide and Billick was all over it in his tweet that he would get abused on the edge. Move him inside, and let him use those long arms and insane strength to be a mauler. Would love to get him in the 2nd as a guard.

Bud Dupree @269. If he runs a great time, he's going mid first and maybe a great selection if we decide to trade down. Did not expect that weight.

Vic Beasley should be in consideration for our selection @ #3 with that weigh in. He's going to tear the combine up. Incredibly impressive tape and weigh in.

Ray- not that impressive

Gregory- Ok he is all in to be a LB. Sure 235 is light but considering Cameron Wake and Jason Taylor were prospects that excelled at the position, we shouldn't write him off just yet. I think its the right choice for him. His agility drills will be key for us to watch.

That's more than a "hair" faster.

Its an expected time for him. He looks like a 4.7-4.8 guy on tape. Checks the box.

I dont think he goes in the first 20 picks, but yes I think he's off the board by the time we select.
Todd Gurley refused to have his injured knee examined at the combine.

O'Leary got some impressive hands though.

Same with Maxx Williams. Walford had some body catches and a drop during the latest drill.

Maxx is still impressive to me. Also I just spaced his name but the beard guy did pretty well even if his speed is very slow.

Tomlinson? Guy who looks like he can fight a bear?

Yeah just watched his second attempt and caught his name. I know I'll be in the minority with that pick tho(later of course)
Wow. Walford looked super impressive in the 2nd attempt of the drills. So did O'Leary- which is really surprising given his small hands. Both made the catches clean and easy,  but loved Walford's hustle.

Really warming up to Walford. I think we give him a long look at #36.

Exciting though all these TE drills are, can you really see us drafting one in the second round if we've got Thomas/Clay in free agency ?

And Caldwells comments make it sound unlikely we'd draft any RB but Gurley and Gordon in the second round (probably rightly)
Quote:Vernon Gholston says hi and requests a tryout.
Lol Vernon Gholston? He was a twinner like 6'3 266 and was all hype workout warrior

Williams is a 300 lb dude

Definitely unusual. Teams will request to examine his knee and his healing process sooner rather than later. No one is investing a high pick on a guy who won't let their medical team examine what they are getting into.

If we sign one in FA, I doubt we draft a TE that high, but we may strike out who knows

We dont know which RB's he like, tho Gurley and Gordon sure to be two of them

He's going to be experiencing a lot of atrophy in his muscles from the healing process, so the structures are probably still very weak. I don't blame him, but its going to hurt his status in the meantime. Think about it, melvin gordon weighed in at the same weight as him, despite looking appreciably slimmer than him all year. Gordon was able to put on the weight, while Gurley wasn't.
Per rotoworld:

Quote:Maxx Williams | CLG

(February 20, 2015 1:36 PM EST)

Minnesota TE Maxx Williams ran an official forty-yard dash time of 4.78 at the NFL Scouting Combine.

It's an underwhelming time for Williams, who stands just under 6-foot-4 and weighs 249 pounds. His broad jump was a solid-but-unspectacular nine feet, nine inches. Athletically, at least, Williams profiles more closely to Dennis Pitta than Greg Olsen. Williams remains the heavy favorite to be the first tight end drafted, but early whispers of him jumping into the early first round seem unlikely to come to fruition.

Absolutely. I'd love to pick up a blocking TE with upside. I really like Jesse James.

I dont blame him, he tore his ACL 4 months ago, you know whats there, wait to it heals up better in 6 months right before the draft

All these teams are gonna do is put out misinformation and say his knee is terrible so he can fall to them in the draft, when he wants to go high as possible

Jake fisher continuing to blow up the combine. Love this kid. Highest vert of 32.5- the same vert that Dion Jordan did last year @248 lbs. Fisher is 306.
