Quote:This is really a great start to the year for the Jags. We "fell" into the senior bowl for the 2nd year in a row and the clots didn't make it to the Superbowl. Now they'll be picking 29th in the draft and they appear to have a relatively mediocre team around Luck. We have a real opportunity to make up some ground in the coming years if we can continue to draft well.

The Colts D looked pretty good the last 2 weeks. Not sure how you can say Luck is the star man after his 3 playoff games.
Quote:It's a shame Luck has absolutely no room for error. This coaching staff can NOT game plan vs. the Patriots. It's pathetic.

Also, if anyone thinks this was Luck's doing? You didn't watch the game.

You can't expect your D to completely shut down the other team every week.
No the whole team was bad, not just Luck

Uh... The D didn't do anything today.

Also, when the game was close the receivers didn't do much to help either.
Live and die by your franchise QB. He is about to be the highest paid QB in the league without being in the top 5 in talent.

Not sure how you can believe what you just typed. If you were controlling the Jags front office and the league went through a complete redraft and you had the first pick, it wouldn't be Luck? Come on now... tell the truth. There would be a strong argument for Rodgers as well, but Luck is definitely a top 2 pick in a hypothetical league redraft. It's comical to think or argue otherwise.

Not sure what that's got to do with anything I said?

Elaborate on Luck not being the star player on the clots.
It's a shame, Luck in his 3rd year: going to playoffs every year. Improving within the playoffs every year. Lead the league in passing yards and touchdowns passes this year (despite his receivers having the most drops in the NFL) and he won't ever be great Sad

You ever consider that every stat you just listed is related...Luck basically threw the ball every down all season long. It worked against the Mediocre teams and didn't against the good teams.

The whole league is laughing at your team tonight. We know how it feels being the laughing stock - don't worry
Yet, after one of the more embarrassing losses in franchise history, you find solace in a division rivals message board.

Nothing about your franchise has changed. Good QB falls into your lap, good regular seasons, and shameful playoff appearances. Your hungover owner will never surround Luck with any talent and he doesn't have the ability of a Peyton Manning to win in spite of it.
Treestone Ice there's not a lot of talent on this football team outside of Andrew Luck, that is/and has been my point all along, without Andrew Luck they're a 3-4 win team .They're not stout defensively, they don't do a good job of protecting Luck, they can't run the ball, and their receiving core (outside of Ty Hilton who's more of a complimentry receiver than a true #1) is underwhelming. You can make the argument that Andrew Luck is the best player in football given his situation; he's the definition of a transcendent player as he makes everyone else around him better. I saw a stat (on ESPN) earlier today that's mind boggling, Andrew Luck accounted for almost 80% of their offense, that's absolutely insane, make no mistake about it, it's a one man show in Indianapolis, it's not a good sign when two 1st round investments (Richardson, and Werner) are"healthy scracthes).

His Defence played really well in the playoffs except today, Luck was decent except today. Luck was their best player in reg season (apart from Hilton)
Before I post this, I know Luck is the best Qb in the division. I know the Colts beat the Jags often, however, Luck really isn't an "elite" qb to me. Yes, he had a great regular season, but when you throw around 50 times a game, you will put up good numbers if you have his top 12 qb talent. The Colts owner is by far the worst/luckiest owner in the NFL. Two good quarterbacks fall in your lap. The Colts will continue to draft 25+ overall each year until the Jags crawl out of the primordial ooze and compete. The Colts are begging us to catch up. And to clarify, I dislike Luck not because of anything he does, but because of how he is worshipped by the media.

That's exactly how I feel. You tend to get abused for not annointing Luck as elite around here though

You dislike Luck because you don't agree with what other people believe him to be?

WOW. This actually could say a lot about one's character.
Luck is what he is. A young QB with all sorts of potential. He's got a lot of time to improve and develop as a QB.

The first thing the Colts could and should do to help him is get rid of Pep Hamilton. As a Jags fan however I hope he's their OC for years to come.
I'd say Grigson is more of an issue. Trent Richardson and Werner total first round busts by the look of it.

Great first draft but fallen apart since

Pep isn't the problem.

I actually think Pep has done a pretty good job.

Good. I hope he stays there.
