Quote:This win didn't change my opinion of the coaching staff either. Because it's still a rookie qb, behind a rookie o line, throwing to rookie wide receivers. And y'all want fire the head coach. Lol.
That's what gets me... People look at wins vs losses and don't take into consideration that we are the youngest team in the NFL, playing more rookies as starters than any other team. Were they expecting us to go 16-0 ? Do they seriously think that any other coach would do that much better with the level of talent we currently have? The roster was blown up and we're two years into a complete rebuild. Quit knee-jerking and try to wrap your brain around reality.... It's only going to get better.
Quote:Look at the amazing things he's done with kaep and a loaded roster....I mean....wait....
Pass on harbaugh, especially in a trade.
Anyway the same thing can be sad now as said all year, as long as there is some improvement this season, Gus will get his third year.
lol if you think Harbaugh is not a good coach.
I think the 49ers were 4-12 before he got there and Alex Smith was god awful.

Perspective is something that is severely lacking for a certain population on this board. They've never had it, and never will.

You know damn well that the vast majority of the people weren't expecting 16-0, or 10-6, or even 8-8.
Most people expected an improvement over last year.
Most people expected something like 4-6 wins this year.
Starting 1-10 in the fashion that we did makes people angry. They (we) don't lack "perspective"....
There may be a handful of trolls, but those should be ignored anyway.
There are legitimate reasons to question the coaching staff and the direction this franchise is going. People disagreeing don't lack perspective, they just have different opinions than you.

LOL 3 consecutive NFC championship games, a Super Bowl appearance and only a 43 - 16 record. I mean... wait...

So tell me why Gus Bradley is a bad head coach without pointing to the record and saying huurr duurrr. Explain what Gus is doing or isn't doing that is CAUSING the win-loss record.
So, you were expecting a better team on the field this year? If you look at things logically, we, in a sense, went backwards this year by adding even more young talent... Give them time to adjust to the game at the NFL level. Next year, if we go 2 and 14, you may have a legitimate reason to question the process... Right now, not so much.

While I'm actually inclined to agree with you, in an attempt to be pragmatic, go back and look at the records of the teams that we've played to date. Outside of Washington, Tennessee and now New York, I am pretty sure the remaining 8 teams have winning records and are in the thick of the playoff hunt. We all knew this was not a playoff worthy team outside of some 1996-esque miracle where these kids just came out and played like they had absolutely nothing to lose...which obviously did not happen.
Bright spots or not, we are a bad team. We have played an inordinate amount of "good teams" (i.e. teams with more wins than losses). Whether we should have won certain games or not (i.e. Philadelphia, for example, before the wheels fell off), it does not negate the fact that we are still a bad team and have played more than our fair share of "good" teams.

he hired
Bob Babich
Jedd Fisch
neither have impressive resumes.
except for yesterday, our team is routinely overpowered in the 2nd half. More often than not, the "halftime adjustments" always go the other way and the Jags can't recover from it.
He prepared the team to score 3 points after a bye week against a team that just allowed 51 points the week before.
He has preached that winning isn't important, but that getting better is more important. I just disagree with that one. Winning is the most important thing, it's the only thing.. and newsflash: if you win, you're getting better. You have to be.
So overall - yes there's been a bunch of reasons to question the coaching staff.
I question a rookie head coach hiring a bunch of nobodies and then the GM giving them a bunch of rookies to play with. It's a recipe for disaster, which frankly it's been,

We have 6 first year players on offense... And we went backwards....
We have one of best d line in league. Biggest question last year was our pass Rush.
Yeah we're not getting better

Winning is nothing at all in the grand scheme of things... Sorry you're not to smart buddy and came see what's happening. Go eat some Cheerios
You do realize Gus had connections with all of these coaches going to North Dakota.... You know nothing please stop talking....
We have one if the best WR coaches in league history... Not many coaches hit on their OC and DC first years.... It's a process.
I am sorry if you studied really hard to obtain your education but ultimately failed and couldn't muster cs.... But were climbing the NFL ranks with or without you... No one cares about you

yeah but if we're a .500 team, how good does everyone's record really look?
We played a horrible Redskins team (3-13 last year IIRC) and they absolutely creamed us.
I'm not saying we need to be .500..... I know the schedule isn't easy..
But we need to be better than 2-10 (and this is coming off a win)
Quote:So tell me why Gus Bradley is a bad head coach without pointing to the record and saying huurr duurrr. Explain what Gus is doing or isn't doing that is CAUSING the win-loss record.
So we can't use the one indicator that actually makes you a good or bad coach? Got it.
Let me know when someone wins Coach of the Year for having a losing record.
I'm also not saying to fire Gus but the only stat that matters as a coach is wins and losses. If Gus doesn't start winning more games next year, he won't be the coach. Even if the players love him (which so many posters claim), he won't be the coach. You have to win in this league. Yes we have a ton of rookies which will most likely get him a pass this year no matter what. But if he starts next year 1-10, I would hope a coaching change happens.

call me crazy but yes - I expect year 2 of the rebuild to be better than year 1.
I thought that's how things go.
Just to clarify, I too get frustrated with the losses, but I see the flashes of what this team can and will become. Our rookies are making the type of mistakes that rookies tend to make, but they're learning from them. Trust in the process and just say to yourself..."At least we're not the Raiders"...
HOW IS HE SUPPOSED TO WIN WITH 22 year old 6 round draft picks...
You're all [BLEEP] morons

This is year one rebuild on offense you dumb [BLEEP]

having possibly the best roster in football will do that. he took over that team at just the right time, and now you can see after he put his touches all over the franchise that its on the decline. hes also the arrogant genius that wanted to move alex smith and let the kaep era begin.
they would have likely won the superbowl that year if they kept smith.

Mods... can we get a quick week long ban here?

And next year will be rebuild year 1 on Special Teams? How long do we wait for results?
