Quote:Carr and Watkins > Bortles? Not saying I agree with that but a lot of people are claiming they would rather have Carr and Watkins over BB.
I wouldn't have been mad at it. More value in a draft to tell the truth.
Quote:Man... You have a real problem.... "flailing away with your moral indignity"? If its ok with you that Blackmon went to the casino.... it should probably be ok with everyone. Got it.

You must be a miserable old man.
Because I don't think there's an issue if a player goes to a casino and does nothing wrong? Seems to me the one who comes across as a miserable old man is you, skippy. You're just not smart enough to recognize it.
What's wrong with stripclubs?

I just don't know if JB fits.. ..can he be relied upon? How many screw-ups do you give a guy. Plus, it sets a bad precedent going forward. 2 to 3 years out of competition is a very long time, color me skeptical.

I am not in the JB is superman club. Can he be good again? Maybe, maybe not.. Will he succeed in avoiding intoxicants? same answer.. he's a crapshoot just like his hangout (nothing against casinos here). I have seen nearly every Jax game this year in one.

Either he is ready to commit to the TEAM, or he isn't. It's on Dave Caldwell. I trust him.
Quote:No he didnt it was 9:30 am in a OK Casino. Alcohol was not serving at that time. Probably not untill noon. :teehee:

Serving time is 10 AM in bars. No one knows if he drank.

Isn't he rehabbing in CA? If so - I've visited casinos there that serve alcohol at 6AM.

(Not that I wanted alcohol at 6AM… they stopped serving it at 1AM and informed me it would be available again at 6. So much for that nightcap!)

Nonetheless - I'd prefer not to read too much into random twitter-sphere updates on JB and certainly won't try to convict or exonerate the dude for being at a casino.

I mean - I've certainly visited casinos without making bad decisions. Oh wait…. no I haven't. :teehee:

The way I understand it, the casino is in Oklahoma. Someone posted earlier that the rehab facility is in CA, who knows if it's true?

Personally, I'm not reading anything into his presence in a casino and I really couldn't care less what he does.

Given his history, the yet unresolved marijuana charge and the fact that he's currently not only under suspension, but also in rehab, it just doesn't seem like a very bright move.

I agree.

Bingo.

He's been accused of a lot of things, being smart isn't one of them.

You're wrong. A grocery store is a way worse place for him to hang out.

Nothing like Diet Coke and Twizzlers to send a guy astray.

First its diet coke and twizzlers, then its at a casino at 9am drinking fruit juice and taking pics with fans. We cant allow such a travesty to happen.

Yep, that sugar high, a gateway drug to say the least.

So we have determined JB has no business in a casino, church, Chuck-e- cheeses, any grocery store or convenient mart, chilis, applebees, outback, carabas, longhorn, olive garden, any sporting event, concert, play, pizza hut, family reunion, business meeting, AA meeting (they talk about alcohol), reality.....
who is this Blackman guy everyone is talking about? :teehee: :teehee:. seriously wasn't he drafted in the gene smith era? I don't rember.

Quote:hahah you're getting crushed and its awesome. People keep giving you examples and you keep ignoring them. A casino is not the same as a grocery store like you have been proclaiming. It is designed for people to over indulge.

My brain is just fine but thanks for enlightening me!
I'll give you the fact that casinos are designed and engineered to make you spend money and drink, but people who frequent casinos do not HAVE to overindulge...I have a good friend who lives in Reno who says that MOST people who are around casinos for large amounts of time are generally responsible users of the facilities...It's generally the tourists who go overboard...It may not be the most suitable place for someone in or just out of rehab, but that's back to making choices...If one can go into a casino and drink grapefruit juice (as reportedly he was doing) what's the problem? Sure there are mechanisms in place to try and make a person overindulge, but that does not mean that EVERYONE does or will..

There are also other things to do in Casinos...There are shows to see, concerts to go to, good food, all kinds of activities that different companies and sports clubs put on...I went to a Casino in Vegas and went to a home and garden show, while my Dad went to a horse/horse riding and training convention in another room..

Cut the guy some slack, he appears to be in good shape, he voluntarily entered rehab, he claims he intends to be back on the field next year, he isn't doing anything illegal so at least wait to see IF he actually does something wrong before you start claiming he's screwed up...

I can agree to that, but he's still not doing anything illegal or technically WRONG...Maybe he feels he's strong enough to resist the temptation

Naw it is said by the twitter guy they were in OK in a casino. I take it that his rehab is done and hes at home.

Your signature has never been so right.

Lots of things to choose from if you've got the munchies.
I think some people are naïve if they think hanging out at a casino for a recovering addict is no big deal. It may be no big deal at all, or it could be an "assignment" from the rehab center, who knows
